  1. Maybe a better approach would of been to warn the balloon pilot about the jumpers intentions and the fact that there is an FAA rep present. Let the pilot be the one to make the call. After all, the baloon pilot would be the one to receive the worst punishment since the only thing the FAA can do to a jumper without any FAA certificates is to issue a civil fine.
  2. I met my roommate at the dropzone. Having a roomate that isn't a whoofo is nice. Things have worked out great. Better then the previous roomates I have had. Plus it's nice to be able to carpool to the dropzone and have somebody to travel to boogies with.
  3. You could have 10,000 hrs flying jumpers but thats not going to help you get a high paying airline job. The airlines want cross country time and IFR time, both of which jump pilots don't receive a lot of. A lot of jump pilots fly just because its fun and for the love of the sport.
  4. It will be there for sure all day Sat. and Sun. Working on getting it in for Friday afternoon.
  5. Just talked to Frank and the Otter will be at the airport on Thursday by 1:00p.m. We will fly loads as soon as we have enough people. We will start early on Friday. See ya there. Jack

    Boogie-itis

Boogie-itis or Boogie-tits still suffer the same symptoms. And yes, it does suck living in the state that is the farthest away in all directions from a turbine. But where else can you jump into the local bar parking lot a get served the beer of your choice with out asking or paying??? It does have its trade offs. Plus $7 hop n pops are great!!!
  7. His weather reports are mostly true except for the chicago area forecasts!!

    Boogie-itis

Heard about your cut-away on skydive radio. That really sucks. Wish I could have been in Luverne but I had to work. Hope you get a new canopy soon!!

    Boogie-itis

I think I might be suffering from boogie-ities. Our clubs boogie is a week away with Couch Freaks not too far behind. All I can think of is jumping out of turbines and awesome parties. I have a hard time sleeping at night and can't concentrate while at work. Is this normal?
  10. All I know is that Jimmy Franklin was the pilot of the bi-plane. He was killed with another legendary airshow performer this year in an airshow accident.
  11. I heard something about strippers. Is this True????
  12. I love it when chicks refer to their "girls" as knockers. Have heard a lot of adjectives to describe them, but "knockers" takes the cake.
  13. I was a pilot first, because you have to be 19 where I'm from to jump.My dad used to fly me to a small cessna dz to watch the "parachuters". Ever sinse then, I had the urge to skydive. I soloed on my 16th B-day, got my license at 17 and started jumping when I was 19. I now fly skydivers and jump at that same dz. Cant deside whats better flying or jumping. Just glad to be able to do both !!
  14. The Otter is supposed to arrive Thursday afternoon/early evening so we will probably get a few loads in Thursday. Friday jumping for sure. Cant freakin wait!! Jack
  15. One of my friends at the dropzone bought a new Vette a couple of years ago and let a bunch of people drive it. I got it up to 141mph. It handled great but still scared the hell out of me. My hands were shaking when I got done but damn, what a rush. I would still rather skydive.

    pilots....

Try www.thirtythousandfeet.com. They have a lot of good info.
  17. My poison is mostly beer, usually busch light, bud light or corona. For the most part the only time I drink the hard stuff is when someone buys me a shot at the bar. Some nights the beer goes down a lot better than others. I usually like to drink a couple beers after work and if someone comes over then it turns into more than just a couple and I end up with a headache in the morning. I always seem to get a little drunker when I not drinking alone so I guess that makes me a social drinker.
  18. I think its all relative. At some smaller cessna dropzoens where I jump 1500 is considered pretty experienced. Yet when you go to Eloy for examle, 1500 ins't squat.
  19. When I was 4 or 5 years old me and my dad would fly out to the dz where I now jump to watch the skydivers.Ever since then I have always had the desire to skydive. As I got older I found out you had to be 19 to jump so I started taking flying lessons instead. When I turned 19 one of my friends who was a pilot and a skydiver started talking about skydiving so I signed up for the 1st jump course and have been jumping ever since!!!
  20. I think every college has students like that. I'm saying I ever got good grades but people like that make me feel a little better about myself
  21. Although its a lot of fun jumping through clouds, if Mr FAA sees this the pilot is the first one to get busted.
  22. Sounds like that person nees to go to class a little more often. By the way what school do you go to?
  23. Rednecks like to wear camo and flannel clothing and drive big loud trucks with gunracks in the back window and rebel flag stickers everywhere. White Trash moms are the ones causing scenes by cussing, yelling, and beating on their kids like its no big deal.
  24. Rednecks I can deal with. Bitchy white trash moms screaming at thier ten kids I cant. I'll spend my money else where!
