When you have iTunes visualizer? I was listening to my tunes as I usually do, and decided "What the heck, let's check out this Visualizer." I really wasn't expecting much... figured it would be your standard visualizer like on Media Player or WinAmp. Started it up. About 10 seconds later... "Damn..." Turned off the lights and put it into full screen mode. "Whoa...." Wound up staring at the screen for about 20 minutes. Seriously trippy. - Z "Always be yourself... unless you suck." - Joss Whedon

Nope. Right after they finished touring Jim Root & Corey went back to Slipknot to do their latest album/tour. But everything I've read seems to indicate that Root and Taylor ARE very serious about Stone Sour as well. I've never been completely suicidal, but I do have major depression (much better now) and at my lowest points I totally understood what drives people to it. Suicide is being at a point where you have no hope, see no future. All you see is pain... and you just want it to stop. And I'm here to tell you, mental pain on that level is FAR worse than any physical pain a person can feel. So suicide for that person isn't the easy way out... it's the ONLY way out. You can have all the friends in the world, and have a really great support network, but if the person is truly down like that, they can't see through anything but their own anguish. So no, never blame yourself. You can be the best friend in the world. Sometimes that support is the one little thing that keeps the person going, but sometimes that person is so far down that nothing anybody can do is going to change the way they see things. I never really got heavily into Pantera, though I like a few of their songs and totally respect their contribution to the metal scene. Couldn't really get into Slipknot either, though I'm starting to like them a bit more since I'm a huge Stone Sour fan. Corey Taylor has the best voice in metal nowadays IMHO. If you haven't listened to them, check out Otep's "Blood Pigs" & "Sepsis". Serious hardcore stuff from a female lead singer no less. - Z "Always be yourself... unless you suck." - Joss Whedon

If you listen to the lyrics you'll find that particularly in Megadeth's case they're more political than death metal. Same for Slayer. I remember when the PMRC were having their big inquisition and they focused on Slayer's "Mandatory Suicide" as somehow promiting suicide. I thought "did you even LISTEN to the lyrics"? It's not about suicide, it's about WAR you idiots. Not true. I get bored with the same old thing as much as anyone and I'm always looking for new and interesting stuff. I'm way into SOAD, Otep, Linkin Park, Ministry, Green Day, Stone Sour, Mushroomhead, Primus... just to name a few... as well. Thing is, Metallica changed their sound and it SUCKED.
