Thanks y'all I recommend beekeeping for everybody, even people in the big city have them on the roof tops. Plus with all the honey you can make mead which will knock your sox off! The white sleeve you see is a bee suit top, These bees are so calm I prolly don't have to wear it at all, but I don't like stings as I have had really bad experiences with hornets as a kid. Some people do this stuff wearing no bee suit- as long as you are calm, don't breathe on them and move slowly they are cool and go about their business. -if you are dark and furry, sniff around and knock the hive .....THEN they are not so fun to hang out with

I opened up the hive this weekend,tough to see cuz of the file size but The bees are very busy and happy in this pic- they pay no attention to me at all even though I took their roof off The one I am pointing at is a male, they get to hang around and eat for free all summer and do no work with the possibility of doing it with the queen, what a life- but in the fall the ladies drag them outside to freeze In the hive shot the one in the very corner of the hive below my thumb is actually a scavenging BUMBLEBEE trying to get a free sip hahaha I watched them chase it's furry butt out of the hive! I appreciate you backing up your claims that recycling is inefficient. It took some time to read through it and watch the vids one of which is actually a good debate and it is a matter of opinion who won that argument. It is a hot topic these days, and there is plenty to complain about, It is labor intensive at this point but as I said the infrastructure is slowly improving partly due to political will, and as time goes on there will have to be a shift from mining/using raw materials to recycling due to the finite nature of elemental deposits worldwide. I too am not a fan of fair weather feel good incentives that don't actually save energy or resources. Ethanol is a prime example of pushing for a feel good technology before the infrastructure can efficiently process, store,transport and use it especially since oil prices have dropped which made the situation worse. I got burned by that line of thinking myself So I can relate to your outrage. None the less we still live in relative glut of resources perceptually, oil included FOR RIGHT NOW. I have a friend who runs a recycling business and he just rented a warehouse and is expanding his enterprise-which is rare in this crappy economy....he gets 0 subsidies from the govt. Even though commodities have taken a huge hit in the last year his business is still growing not only from the fees he charges customers on his rout- but for the amount he gets per ton of recyclables he returns to the companies who are becoming more efficient at reusing waste materials that are generated by the local community. Even though this is the Bonfire You know that you still have to back up these claims you are making as to the inefficiency of recycling materials which have ALREADY been refined from raw ore or timber to pass the bs test here too. watch.....as natural resources dwindle, Landfills will become the goldmines of the future.
