  1. Stripper pole? I'm intrigued. You say, what's that sound coming out of the hole in the wood?
  2. Hey Cutie, I'll take a shower with you if you want. I'll tell eric to bring his clippers for your new hairdo. I think I'm going to get a cut and dye it orange. I did that this winter and it was really fun. No matter about electric, I'm sure DJ dave will be using all the juice for our benifit anyway, so who cares. If anyone reading this would like to stop by, we're the camp with the vids on the big screen and the DJ skydiver spinning for us all night. Come around and say Hi, it's nice to meet people from the forum. You say, what's that sound coming out of the hole in the wood?
  3. DQ, you naughty boy! Are you gonna sport your mullet this year? I thought about asking eric to shave my head, but I don't know if I have the guts for a faux-hawk. Are you guys going to be down wednesday? Will you save a spot for us & the FoodleMobile? We have to think of vehicle decorating ideas this weekend. I was thinking about weird toys and maxi-pads. You say, what's that sound coming out of the hole in the wood?
  4. I know perfectly well that he did it for his own reasons, he didn't do it for me at all. I just wanted to let people know that I got some very positive things out of having a 'daredevil' for a father. I wouldn't trade the emotional benifits I got from watching him do something even though it scared the hell out of him and I'm glad he didn't give that stuff up for me. That's my perspective from growing up in that envirnment. I know that skydiver parents who give it up for their kids don't grow to resent their children for that sacrifice, that's their choice. I just don't agree with the blanket statements about what's right for everybody because every situation is different. A different child from me might have been angry that my father did those things. I turned it into something positive in my life; something for me to take with me when he is gone as we all will be. He showed me the beauty in pushing myself, the level we reach when we go beyond something we're scared of. I will be forever grateful for having him in my life. My point is that the issue is more complex and I wanted to say that I gained a lot in my life from a thrill-seeking father. I'm not promoting it for everyone, just saying that there's a different side to it. You say, what's that sound coming out of the hole in the wood?
  5. I wanted to put a little different spin on the tangent. I am the child of what 'normal' people might call a daredevil. My father did motorcross, hillclimbing, racing, hang gliding, flew planes, gliders and all kinds of other things. As a child, it never occured to me that he was being selfish, it occured to me that I even though I might be scared for him sometimes, I was also VERY proud that my father did things other kids dads didn't do. He pushed the boundries of what our family thought was acceptable behavior and taught me to do the same by his example. I am not saying that I don't feel for this little girl just like I feel for the son of my two of my best friends, one of which was recently killed in a BASE accident. I just want to say that the issue is more complex than the black and white judgements on either side. I was always proud of my father's accomplishments and his example is why I skydive and fly. I will always be grateful for that. I applaude the skydiver parents and those who decided they don't want to do it anymore. No one does this unthinkingly and there is no other issue in which perfect strangers think they know what's best for you. You don't. You say, what's that sound coming out of the hole in the wood?
  6. I will be going as I have for 5 years and I am happy to say that the Des Moines Skydivers have accepted me to be a vender there, so I'm really excited! I'll be in a tent near the other venders, so stop by and say Hi if you want. It's the best party-time boogie around and don't forget your costumes. My DZ starts trying them on during sat. night bonfires at least a month early. You say, what's that sound coming out of the hole in the wood?
  7. Sometimes in the springtime at my old DZ, these little tiny baby toads would be all over the landing area. I have had several of them in my canopy at once, and mostly made great effort to get them back outside. Also crickets and after a bad under-canopy decision, some corn stalks. You say, what's that sound coming out of the hole in the wood?
  8. No need to take it so personally; either the movie or the fact that some of us find it really funny. You don't ever have to watch it again You say, what's that sound coming out of the hole in the wood?
  9. I fully admit I laughed so hard at this movie I think a little pee came out. It makes fun of everyone, shit blows up and puppets have raunchy sex, how is that a bad thing? You say, what's that sound coming out of the hole in the wood?
  10. Happy B-day to a very interesting person and a wonderful cook & load organizer. He is likely the most memorable person in skydiving I have ever met. Here's to Scottie, raise your glass. Here's to Scottie, He's a horses ass. Him! Him! Fuck Him! You say, what's that sound coming out of the hole in the wood?
  11. I have an almost finished website for my tie-dye company and now with my dayjob, I just haven't had the time to learn how to finish it off, especially the shopping cart part of it. My site is all set up for that, I just can't seem to make it happen. I don't have a lot of extra cash since I'm only selling stuff on my own and contracting with two suit companies, so I'm looking for someone who can help me finish it and either take payments on the work or someone who would like a whole awsome wardrobe of custom dyed work. Any help would be appreciated. You say, what's that sound coming out of the hole in the wood?
  12. If you want to use a similar fabric that's way easier to dye, use some weight of cotten duck. You say, what's that sound coming out of the hole in the wood?
  13. I work with cordura all the time and have really nice results. I have been doing it for several years via my own website and suit makers Hawk Designs and Bev Suits and I can say that it does take a lot of practice to get it right. You say, what's that sound coming out of the hole in the wood?
  14. I have seen this movie and several others of the genre and liked this one the best, even better than crouching tiger. The story is so complex and beautiful, and the costumes and choreography rock. The only problem I had with it was when I saw it at Target and was going to buy it, it was 30$! So I will have to wait a little longer to own it as it's jump-season in the frozen north. You say, what's that sound coming out of the hole in the wood?
  15. The wanting to change who your with by some, that has nothing to do with plumbing. I have only met one man so far besides my father who didn't try to reshape me into what he wanted in some way. Boys are just as guilty of that crime. You say, what's that sound coming out of the hole in the wood?
  16. I think it's pretty funny to send new ramp rats where I have worked out to look for a couple feet of flight line for a job I'm working on. Or liquid stainless; which they usually come back with anti seize. You say, what's that sound coming out of the hole in the wood?
