  1. Do you have a time frame, start to completion for each person? thanks, 570
  2. Easy there. I've had enough fighting on this forum for a while. I don't think 515 was trying to start a fight, I think he is only trying to show people that LERoy will say anything and do anything to make himself look better in the eyes of whoever he is talking to. Case in point: LERoy said 99% of his jumps are at night but we have all seen his 2way educational day blazing video. Now I'm guessing he doesn't have over 100 jumps at night to make up for this one day jump do you?? I don't think people that flat out lie should be able to get away with it without some sort of confrontation. I think it's only fair to allow some sort of rebuttal to contradict the false statements, otherwise everyone will start to fudge their logbooks and stories. Then you will not be able to believe anyone. Today, I really don't think anyone jumps 99% at night, it's too scary!!!. 570
  3. John Vincent got something like 90days also. Don't know if it was time served or not. Personally, I was detained for about 4 hours in a Mexican jail in 2002. Definitely an eye opener! Mental note- don't get busted in Mexico! I really don't think they can justify anything over 90 days unless some other crime was committed. And the longer sentences will only be handed down if you jump something of real significance, like a National monument. Glad no one was looking when I jumped! Jason 570
  4. Brian that's a great story and I'm glad you're still alive. But to me, I just don't think all the truth as you claim, is being told. I have heard from 3 of the 4 jumpers in this situation and have recieved 3 different stories. How does this happen? Are you guys covering something up or do you all just not remember what went on or were you impared slightly? I can understand small things not being remembered correctly but jeez man. Get your stories straight before telling them. So you said the legal siuation has been settled? Can you please tell us what the charges and fines were. How did you defend yourself? What was your plea and what punishment did you recieve? This would be way more educational than your story. Thanks. Brian, there are many, many more lessons to be learned from this incident than the ones you listed. I hope you realize this and just didn't put it into words here on the net. stay safe Jason 570 Great video by the way!
  5. You might be right about saying stupid shit sometimes but that's what happens when you get fucked up and get on a computer. Hell, it's beats drunk dialing. But I'm sure, mr. winklekotter, you never make mistakes like this do you? I was only doing a little research trying to see if Miles was as famous as he says he is. Anyone else who looked up 'world famous miles daisher' would have found the same thing. The article doesn't put Miles (or Dan) in a bad light and I don't think it's anything he needs to try to hide or be ashamed about. Nor do I believe it should bring him any mental anguish. It sounds like an epic time in his life and he shouldn't look back on it and feel pain. I guess I see death differently than most, I see it as merely a doorway to much greater things, not as the END ALL that most see. There is a time for mourning but after that you should celebrate that persons life rather than get angry or upset everytime people talk or read about it. Sorry if we think differently on this. Get over it, it's only physical death! B-Team, glad I could help out the cause 570 Oh, and who hasn't met Miles, he IS world famous you know!
  6. I wasn't referring to Dan, I was referring to Miles. I did the search on Miles since he was claiming world fame. To my surprise this was the only thing that came up. I guess what I was trying to say was that it would be unfortunate to claim 'world fame' yet only be famous for being the last person to see an amazing man alive. Sorry if you misunderstood 570
  7. I wouldn't mind doing some of those jumps. They looked very intense 570
  8. Just for fun I went to Yahoo and did a search on 'world famous "Miles Daisher"' and came up with only one match http://www.activetraveldirectory.com/magazine/0499/9904terminal.html It sure would suck to be famous for this 570
  9. After watching Renes' video of him striking the dam in this thread http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=1379574;sb=post_latest_reply;so=ASC;forum_view=forum_view_collapsed;;page=unread#unread I started to think. Think about this hypothetical situation.... say you have a 180 and end of hitting the cliff you jumped from, now this jump is somewhat low but not low enough to not get a canopy turned around after a strike but if you do get it around you're faced with this. . The area directly below the base of the cliff is loose small rock that has crumbled down the side of the cliff and broken apart. Down the rest of the talus are large car sized boulders and other nasty hazards extending out further than your canopy could fly after a strike and the subsequent loss of altitude. Assuming you're jumping a vented canopy that won't deflate totally and you have sustained some type of injury that is impairing your flying/thinking (hell assume you had no injuries at all) would you: A: Turn the canopy around and take your chances with the huge boulders and talus. B: Continue to slide down the face to try to hit the smaller rocks at the base and possibly get snagged before impact at ground zero. C: Turn the canopy enough to quite smacking your head and go for a landing parallel with the face. D: Give up and shit yourself. E: You answer here.... Rene had an unfortunate incident but it looked like most of his injuries occurred from the initial strike. His actual touchdown might have only broken his foot or ankle. The area he landed in is a bit of a depression and had smaller stones but the area above the depression has larger rocks that could have caused much greater damage. I don't think he could have gotten around and made it to those boulders but it got me thinking of other places and scenarios. Maybe a good PLF at the base can save you from something worse like a boulder strike with more forward speed had you turned it around. I know there are tons of variables that might come into play, I just thought it might be a good topic of discussion. So what would you do?? Has anyone else thought about this type of scenario? Jason 570 Rene... glad you're ok after that, it looked horrible I know you'll be back there as soon as you heal up. It's such a beautiful place, I was fortunate enough to make 7 or 8 there in 1999. Heal fast brother.

    Why 7 cell

Has anyone done any studies with a larger or smaller volume center cell opposed to the other cells? Maybe something like a large 5 cell type center cell with 3 7-cell types cells on either side. Might make for a funny flying canopy Or maybe not??? Jason 570
  11. Dude, your trying to distance yourself from a LOGO?? I can understand if they were actively pursuing Satanic rituals and forcing you to participate but from what you have said that doesn't seem to be the case. Just because a group uses a particular logo doesn't mean that they follow the same path as the people who originally came up with that logo does it? I remember hearing you preach about this 5 years ago and quite frankly I thought it was stupid then as well as now. It's a meaningless picture to 99.99% of the population. But it seems that with your help, the word of satan will spread because you just can't let it rest. What are you really doing when you post lyrics and websites that are about it??? YOU ARE PROMOTING IT! I have never seen or heard anyone else on Ill Vision posting things like that, so why are you? Give it up man and take the religion elsewhere. People will seek it when they want and need it not when someone else feeds it to them, unless of course they are feeble minded which is what most religions are counting on anyway right? Jason

  13. I'm having a hard time distinguishing the Red Bullshit team in question here... the link goes to several poor jumps. was it the first BD clip where the dude has the wrong gear set up for BASE jumps and has a pc hesi and then a long snivel? Or were they the ones in the cool bunny/pig costumes who had the sweet stand up flailing exit and canopy strike? Or how about the rockin' 2 way linked exit that ended up with the dude pitching on his back? Maybe they were the guys that ended up eating topskin because of a messed up exit and total unawareness of their surroundings. Oh wait a minute... I think I found them trying to kill themselves with a long rope
  14. Stay away from any BASE sites in the area and tell your freinds to stay at home... we don't want the heat here
  15. 1. Leroy, there is no need for naming sites here. Even if it is burned it's still bad etiquette to name sites... are you ever going to learn? 2. Parkton crew, some of us that try to stay under the radar here in NC would like to get a heads up next time another tower is burned. The (2) 2000' towers with the elevators were being jumped for a few years before you guys set them on fire and a call or email to let others know they are hot would be nice... don't you think you would want to know if I got busted on a tower you jump? 3. All this burning, bitching and buffoonery is really making ALL of the jumpers in NC and SC look bad and get bad reputations. Over the last few months I have had to explain myself and how I conduct myself on BASE jumps because people think I'm part of your group when they find out I'm from NC. This is a bunch of bullshit! I have been BASE jumping for over 8 years and have made over 500 jumps all over the world with hundreds of skilled BASE jumpers and have tried to build friendships so that I get to jump the choice sites when I travel and so people won't think I'm going to burn their sites. Now after all those years of work of building relationships worldwide, your lack of ethics and care to preserve sites is threatening that and has given all the other jumpers from NC and SC a black eye. My suggestion is that if you guys ever want to travel outside of your area you need to start to rectify the situation, NOW! I realize that not everyone down your way is 'out of control' but the consensus in the BASE community seems to be that everyone in this area is a loose cannon. 4. I could continue but I'm not going to... I think you get the picture. Jason BASE 570 Ethical, respectful, level headed North Carolina BASE jumper #1
  16. It looks as if the bridle gets hung up on something near the top of the container, which doesn't allow the bridle to get full extention thus putting the PC in the jumpers burble. It seems to clear from the top of the container then the PC gets to full extention and clean air then pulls everything else out of the container. One thought that comes to mind on the point of snag are the tuck flaps on the rig(if any). I can see an inexperienced jumper using the tuck flaps to 'stow' his excess bridle so it will have less of a chance to entangle with his arm. Maybe he used the tuck flap like the little piece of velcro some BASE rigs have to keep the bridle free. Maybe he had the bridle stowed elsewhere on the rig and it failed to release at the designated time. It seems to be trailing him from the middle of his shoulder blades I also have to agree with the asymetrical PC too... what an oscillating bitch that is. Although it may have started to oscillate when it released from the snag point and had to find a new point to pull everything out from. Jason BASE 570 So does someone know what really happened or do we all have to guess and come to our own conclusions??

    BASE en Chile

Seems like a 'little' hike . What will it take 30-45 minutes??? 570
  18. Hi Jason, another nice event, thanks. Would you care to elaborate on the jumper whose jump pass was taken away after his jump? Maybe by letting everyone know what happened you might not get your toes stepped on next year. I have only heard the one side, saw the video and been told about your email to him. I would like to hear your side too. Thanks 570

    Hey Jason from NC

No problem, glad you had fun
  20. Eric, what happened to you guys??? You disappeared all day and night! I saw Szabi and he told me the story about his traffic stop. That's some funny shit!. cya Jason BASE 570
  21. Already got it worked out His time frame and travel radius won't let him get down your way. 570
  22. Ah yes. That was quite fun. I'll be wearing armour this year and not jumping a Pegasus 570
