Thanks. Dollar broke $1.10 briefly yesterday, but is back "down" to around $1.07 this morning. Two big issues at play. Rise in commodity pricing (canada is commodity rich). But, the rise in the loonie is also due in large part to the falling of the greenback. Yesterday the greenback fell because China made an announcement that they may sell off a part of the $1.4 trillion USD they hold in reserve and buy Euro dollars. China seems to be playing the currency markets and they appear to be extremely good at it. The european union is now the largest trading partner, yes larger than the US. By forcing the Euro up, it allows China to move the yuan up against the dollar and down against the Euro. This would be an enormoud benefit for them, since it greatly improves their competitiveness in their largest and fastest growing export market.....Europe. It is scary how the rest of teh world is pretty much helpless in stopping any of this. Though a low yuang will eventually pose a severe risk to China due to higher costs for imports of oil and food....it is not all rosey for China, but they are master manipulators of a capitalist market. (which in itself is interesting since it is a communist country)

Right, and Shotgun realizes that, but she brings up a good point. If the federal government says life starts at conception, then the whole abortion discussion is right out the window. There is nothing left for the states to decide on. Hence, so far his action on this point contradicts what he says (I know not a great surprise for a politician, but if I have to believe some of the people here he is the second coming of christ)

Which is exactly how it is done in many other countries including Canada. In order to vote for the leader of a party, you have to be a paying member of the political party. This goes for both the provincial and the federal parties.

Come on, that logic just doesn't fly. I think Lawrocket has hit it right on the head. Even if they had all the facts in the world, impeachment would not be in their best interest. Just because their is no impeachment doesn't mean there are no grounds or facts to support it. That argument is especially dishonest coming from supporters on the right. Just think back to previous presidents and your stance on their legal battles. Well done by the Republican party. Smart play!!

That many different conclusions can be drawn from the presented data. Conclusions ranging from those in favour of CCW holders and those against it. In short, the data doesn't answer anything really, other that there is a lower conviction rate as opposed to the population in general. (Keep in mind that lower conviction rate does not necessarily mean a lower crime commission rate)

I personaly get the feeling that was much more the intentions of the originals framers. I also think that argument holds abolutely no water in today's environment.
