Without a definition of pro-military it is impossible to answer that question.

I think the professor is right on the money when it comes to the data and the conclusions you can draw from it. There is a significant increase in the stats for CCW permit holders, which could be attributable to a number of factors ranging from, more CCW holders turning into criminals, to a weakening of the selections process.

The US wouldn't need Blackwater if it would abstain from senselss nation building missions after invading a country on false pretenses.

Might be tough, since from what I can read the deceased was not specifically addressed.

mere offensiveness does not qualify as "fighting words". Street v. New York (1969)

Eventhough I do not agree with the WBC, isn't this part of their right to free speech, as protected by the US constitution? Wouldn't the winning of this lawsuit result in a serious infringement on that right?

How true, often the best course of action is to continue to pay your car payments when your loan is paid off, but to pay it to yourself, into a seperate savings or investment account for just such expenses. (and to start saving for the downpayment of your next car)

Oh, I understand the need for the PC speech. But the death is still an accident. The death happened due to an accidental discharge of a weapon due to negligent handling of said weapon. As people here like to say, the weapon is an inanimate object it is not able to fire by itself. Now the action of actually pulling the trigger can be one of two things: it is either on purpose or it is by accident. Since I agree that mechanical failure is very uncommon, the accidental discarge may often be the result of negligent behaviour. It IS a prime example of PC speech and quite funny coming from a group of people generally very opposed to PC speech. This discussion, as a side note, also shows that what one group considers PC speech, another group sees as a very important distinction. Maybe something we should all keep in mind when we laugh at PC speech? (something I am most certainly also guilty off)

If you look above, one of the posts has a couple of definitions of accident. You'll see that many of them include the action of a person. It is a stupid semantic argument. The incident is an accident. For an accident to take place, an action is required. That action is often some form of negligence. It really should be an accidental (shooting, airplane crash, car wreck, drowning, fall etc) due to negligent behaviour. I do agree with Kallend though, for a crowd that is notoriously opposed to PC speech........

Sticks and Stones May Break my Bones but Words...

I must be even denser, cause even spelled out I don't understand the insult.... Do black people only like a certain type of dog? Or do black people take good care of dogs? I don't get it -
PLus the cost of increased risk associated with cash on hand, transportation costs etc. I think you'll find that most high volume businesses would prefer plastic over cash.

In that case it would be an accident due to pilot error. (assuming suicide is ruled out) Sounds like it comes down to a bit of semantics argument. I seem to remember a story where a pet pushed a gun of a table or ledge at which point to the gun discharged. We could argue that leaving the gun loaded on a table would be negligent behaviour. IMHO the discharge would be accidental. Edited to add: In the end it is a word game, with those in favour of guns prefering negilgent over accident to show that some form of interaction is needed and therefor guns are intrinsicly safe.

Isn't he free to go to another school? Or free not to go to school at all. I know of multiple scenarios where people give up their constitutional rights of their own free will. Shouldn't really be whining about it afterwards.

Ahh, one of those Law Abiding citizens who abides only those laws he agrees with...and a temper.

We seem to have one of those on these boards. He even lives in the US. How come you are not openly speaking out about him?
-
In all likelihood there might be some quesiton about the legality of replica guns that can be converted. Secondly, he was probably given two options. One was for him to keep the guns, but be charge and take his chances in court. Two, give up the replicas that could be converted and not be charged. A relatively common form of government "blackmail". Happens in all countries all over the world, even the US.

Not really, but the same comment is even used in Medical school in the form of a "law"....go figure...

Funny thing is, Willie claimed he never said that.....

I wonder if they were shown different intelligence than was shown to Bush... Bush and his cronies had made it clear to really only bring forward "evidence" if it supported their wish to invade. Even if most other intelligence agencies already knew that the "evidence" was false or seriously flawed. (or coming from a single source who was trying to grand stand, but that is a whole different story)

So THIS is why the children didn't get healthcare?

Its just tax money. Easily made back by giving people tax cuts..... -
It is not a character attack. Your posting style is atrocious. You really would get a lot more people reading your posts and maybe even agreeing with you if you would clean up your posts. As a suggestion, start with not posting 25 posts in rapid succession, but putting it all into one post. After that, I would work on the amount of quotes in the posts.

Sometimes you just have to rely on your own intelligence, perceptions, reading, understanding and "gut feeling". Like when OJ was found not guilty. I went to school with some of the richest kids in Holland from some of the most influential families in the country, including the three sons of the current Queen. Money and stature can do some amazing things.

Then you and I will have to agree to disagree. I think it is pretty clear that Bush wanted to invade Iraq even before 9/11 happened. I think it is pretty clear that instructions were given to find reasons to invade. Lastly, I have a hard time believing that your intelligence agencies are filled with idiots and Bush is the smart person in all of this. Have you ever heard the man talk?
