A round that is one (1) foot in diameter would be approx 300 mm. A 155mm is approx 6" in diameter.

I use a Saitek Cyborg Evo with FS 04. A decent $50.00 Joystick with Throttle, Rudder (MUST have!), Point of View cap, Point of View Cycle…. and a bunch of other useful controls. My minimum requirements for a decent Flt Sim are (above & beyond the obvious X,Y,Z) are Throttle, RUDDER and POV. The larger and heavier the base of the Joystick…..the better as the Rudder is usually a twisting motion; left to right on the Joystick. I mounted mine on a small, portable metal floor stand 24” off the floor, so I could place the Joystick between my knees (especially handy when trying to pull UP from an imminent crash).

Never, ever, ever let the Black Hats find out you a a skydiver. Run, run, run and run some more. Do chin-ups (properly) until your arms look 5 feet long.

You are not the only one to say this but I find it incorrect. Unless their has been a very recent change that I should/would have heard about. The shipping service may require an FFL to ship (as does the Postal Service? for handguns. Someone does anyway) but it is not Federal law. He just needs to find an FFL that will do tranfers relatively inexpensive and have the sender get a copy(fax is now allowed) and ship them. My FFL charges me $20 to do a transfer per "firearm". If I sell a firearm I ship it myself without the use of an FFL on my end. According to Federal law, intra/inter-state shipment of firearms requires an FFL at both ends. You guys better hope the BATFE doesn't monitor this thread.

You will need to consign them to a Federal Firearms licensee in your area for shipment to another FFL holder in CA. Be prepared to pay a fee on both ends of the transaction as they have to be entered into both dealers books and then off again, plus the shipping. Also, be careful about what firearms you are shipping into the Peoples Republic of California. Many types are outright banned. You will need a CA pistol permit for the handgun before you may possess it.

Me, too, Wayne. If you find two, give me a holler! I currently jump my PC in a Ted Strong "Starmaker" backpack and a chest mount lo-po steerable, but a Security Crossbow would be fun to have again!

The vertical right side of the patch represents vertical descent in free-fall. The 45 degree angle on the left represents tracking through the air. The 60 degree angle towards the bottom is the canopy descent. See us ol' farts aren't useless, after all!

Security. I had one in black and gold - my PC and Tri-Conical fit in there just fine. A nice rig - if a bit heavy.

Remember our forces are constrained as to ammo types by the Geneva Convention. That's why ball ammunition is used - we don't want to kill anyone with the wrong ammo. It's just not PC, you see. Be very careful about recommending "special" ammo.

I jump an MT-1XX loaded at .63/1 and can routinely land it at half brakes. Be prepared to back up on windy days, however...not much penetration. I have had no problems with an extra-large canopy.

I understand that none of the ships moving parts will have (balls) bearings. This also in keeping with our former President's proclivity towards avoiding decisive engagement.

Put it in a military flight helmet bag and carry it on. Any helmet I would consider putting on my head, I would not worry about being crushable. If you have a ten dollar head, put it in a ten dollar helmet.

I never leave any main - round, square, zp, F-111, whatever - packed for more than one month.

Use a .45 . Never carry a handgun whose caliber does not start with 4. A .45 lets the blood out and the air in.

PLF'ed into the back seat of a '66 Ford convertible under a 28' 7 TU. Luckily, the top was down.

highest number of jumps ...w/o malfunction???

Gold wings before squares is nothing special. There's a lot of us old farts out here yet. -
Back in the late '60's, after a hard dock with another jumper I noticed my 1 1/2 shot Capewell cover was open and flopping in the wind. I could not tell if the riser was still attached or not (it was) until I deployed. I was certainly ready to go for the Tri-Conical.

Did Kittenger really go supersonic?

Actually, at 400,000 feet there would be no sound as there is virtually no air to transmit it. -
military parachute Question?????
ripcord4 replied to clintonradloff's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I have many jumps on both an MT-1XX and MC-4. They are virtually identical. They are not the best sport rigs but they are cheap, readily available and fun to jump, as the previous poster has mentioned. The NB-8 will keep you alive but (probably) not unhurt. Those 28 footers are not slow coming down. -
For reading all this BS, I guess I am!

Absolutely not. Not being the best public speaker does not make him an idiot.

No, but he acts like one.
