    Yeah, you are talking about creating two "ad-hoc" connections in your network, thats wrong. If more than two devices exist you need to set the devices to use "infrastructure" mode. So basically your network was set to connect between the two pc's but not connect to the wireless router. If you make sure both pc's are set in the same ip range ie 10.0.0.X or 192.168.0.X (where x is 1-256). Then is should be ok. Either that or set them to automatically get an IP from the DHCP server (usually provided as part of the router box). __________________ BOOM Headshot

    In a perfect world there wouldn't be age restrictions. There would be limits by responsibility. People that were responsible enough to drink would be allowed to drink despite age, people who could drive with due care and attention would be allowed to drive etc etc. Unfortunately we don't live in a perfect world so we have to make laws that assume the we become more mature with age, generally its true, but not with everyone.     The reason MACs are not plagued with virus spyware adware etc etc is because no one writes virus spyware etc etc for MACs, why? Because not enough people use them. Which coincidentally is why no one writes applications for them either. I am a tech too, and know how to look after a windows install, up to date virus protection, don't open bigtits.exe everytime you get it on email, use Firefox instead of Internet explorer, and have a hardware firewall. MAC = Problem free, but as useful as a chocolate firewall Windows = Needs looking after, but useful Nobody using linux then? __________________ BOOM Headshot

    I quit about 9 months ago, stopped drinking for first 3 months, I found I was smoking more when out for beer, so it made sense. It is tough but I am sure you will appreciate it in the end. Just remember that if you smoke just 1 cigarette you will make it much harder NOT to smoke another. __________________ BOOM Headshot

    Not sure I would bother with the uspa membership as you are gonna need BPA membership when you get back to uk anyway. The AFF course usually includes temp membership. I would also leave a few consol jumps for UK so you can get to know people at you local dropzone. But looks good __________________ BOOM Headshot

    Tis a good idea, thats why my holidays are booked for november :) Get in touch with the dropzone and speak to them, from what I hear its a common thing to do. Prices in the US are half the price of UK (although thats mainly because of the strength of the pound more than anything). Couple of things to remember, make sure you get a video of level 7 so you can show a UK dropzone (they might want you to do a coached jump or two just to make sure you are ok). Other thing is make sure you have travel insurance thats up to the job (search these forums). Other thing is might be worth doing a tandem or similar in the UK first just to make sure its for you. __________________ BOOM Headshot
