Packing faster primarily comes with practice. As far as techniques go, there are lots of different ways to pro-pack. I use a combination of techniques I have learned from various packers that make packing neater and faster. What works for one person might not work well for you. When I teach packing classes I usually show the students several techniques and see which one they are most comfortable with and help them with that one. Just ask different people how they pack, and see which one works best for you. When you find a technique that works just incorporate it into your pack job.

Congratulations Megs. Your finally done, got it in before the winter. Now its time to pile in those jumps and work a little less. We should fly together sometime.

I liked the Pimp Daddy cloth too, but according to Bonehead the discontinued it because they were having problems with durability. The 2001 models the one with the Pimp Daddy cloth and external mount and the 2002 with an internal mount bulge on the right side fit simiarly for me. I wore an XL in both sizes. The 2003 Mindwarp with audible mounts on both sides which has two minor flat spots on either side for audibles I found fit differently. In the 2003 model I wear a L for a tight comfy fit and can fit in an XL but its much looser than 2001 or 2002 models, that I have been wearing. They all fit my head well and with a little baking the fit even better, but that is just my noggin. Definitely try one on before buying. As a matter of fact, I have to buy a new one since I lost my helmet and Pro-Dytter last week Hope this helps

I miss seeing Hammer around. I didn't get a chance to say bye to him before he took off and disappeared. He was great guy to have around.

I met Tommy and Chris when they were both at Crosskeys with SunnyDee. Both of them were nice guys. I spoke with Tommy for a while on the back deck he was friendly and humble. Its too bad that we have to lose a good one. My condolences go out to all those that knew him

If I were to purchase a new rig the Infinity would be on the top of my list. I like the features of the Infinity a lot and you can't beat the price. I like Mirages and their fit, but I could never justify the cost. I have jumped Javelins the whole I have been skydiving and the only reason for me to buy another is that replacement parts are easy to find and I am familar with them. You can't go wrong with an Infinity

It wouldn't be the first time I have seen a Sabre "blow-up" like that. I have seen a Sabre 170 rip along the center cell, with only end tape holding the two ends together. From what I know the 170 that exploded was relatively new, but I don't know the exact number of jumps. Guess it just happens from time to time

Typically its a pretty "white" sport. I have jumped at DZ's in the Mid-Atlantic region and Florida and I have seen few ethnicities compared to the "white" population, but they are around. I am one of two male asian fun jumpers, I know of even then people get us confused. We really don't look alike. He has a bigger build than me, but aren't all asians related There are quite a few female asian fun jumpers I know of, but few male ones. A lot of the time people remember me as the asian guy and they immediately know who I am rather than by name. Yah...its mostly "white" folks, but Wonder bread is good

That is PD's new canopy. Tentatively to be called the Katana. It defintely exists. Heath and Jay from Team PD have been test jumping one of them at X-Keys.

Does that mean we can pie you after the mud wrestling?

Sounds exactly like the cutaway situation a I had last Thursday. Almost exaclty the same just different canopy.

Skydiver Reality Show: Skydiver Meets Whuffo
rogue108 replied to MochaSkyChick's topic in The Bonfire
There are a couple of skydivers that I know of in reality shows. Not necessarily a skydiver reality show. All of them are from Crosskeys. A couple in Race to the Alter, Ethan and Caroline are skydivers. Well Ethan is. Then there is Sarah and Selwyn who are going to be on a upcoming episode of a Makeover Story on TLC. Also Pancake, an instructor at Crosskeys was the date on episode of a Dating Story on TLC. -

Impact of skydiving on your regular life
rogue108 replied to Mad47's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Lets see...I have no extra money, I have no free weekends except in the winter, I put lots extra miles on my car, Drink excessively, I live in a tent quite often, and I picked up a second job. Its all about the air. -
A good friend of mine has no sight in one eye and skydives hard. He says that depth perception is the hardest part. Often he has to get used to the height of objects around new DZ's before he will start hook turning in. Otherwise he skydives just as well as anyone with 1500+ jumps. Hope this helps, but I think you have gotten lots of good input already.

Jump Ticket prices going up at Perris
rogue108 replied to scottjaco's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Where I jump I pay credit card surcharge as well. I have gotten used to it. The planes are just expensive to maintain and experienced loads are hard to make money off of. The sport is just expensive and prices aren't going down in this economy. Hopefully the money I absorb in paying those credit card fees goto the DZ. At my DZ we got new showers, more planes, a swoop pond, and still free pizza on Saturdays. So I feel I get moneys' worth. My $0.02 -
I heard Nike rumor about a year ago, at that time he was trying to cut a deal with Nike and sell the business to them. The most recent news I have heard is that he has lucrative business offers outside of skydiving and will probably leave the industry. This all hearsay though. However, I know he has made suits for people that have contacted him directly. The new Monkey Claw suits are nice.

Some of the personal ads are pretty entertaining and or funny. I guess its a way of being voyuerstic for some people. However if you do it while you are with an significant other, its hurtful in my opinion. If they doing with a group of people for fun its another matter. My $0.02

I remember seeing one at an airshow years ago in Canada. That is one big plane. I could only imagine the price of a jump ticket or the time it takes to fuel. We might have to extend a runway or two
-
Yeah today sucks. This last week has sucked for various reason. I can't even say f-it and goto the DZ. I work too late and I haven't seen blue sky for a good two weeks and a couple of days. It also looks like this weekend will be ruined too.
