  1. In one of the e-mails I got before I went there it said about one mile to base camp from exit. I'm told it was done before with an old version of the wingsuit (classic?) and standing and the base camp looking up at the mountain I was sure it wouldn't be a problem. But as I said in my previous post, when you get your chance to jump Angel Falls, I would recommend going for fun rather than distance. For those of you who use Google Earth you can check out my attached file where I have pinpointed both the exit and the base camp. You should be able to calculate the distance based on the coordinates. -Jo Henrik
  2. As Jason said, I brought my V1 to Angel Falls but didn't have time to use it I am pretty sure you'll be able to fly back to base camp. It's 4000 feet and if you try to fly straight back to base camp you should make it. If you try and don't make it, you haven't got any options. The other people (like Jack ) said the trees were very soft, but with many scary bugs. My plan was not to fly back, I can do a minute long distance flight any day here (yes, I'm from Norway) so why try to get too far away from the falls. My attached picture is grabbed from the camera right after exit. My plan was to go left right after exit, fly close to the falls and play around at the tallus you see further left and then land at the normal lz. Enjoy your flight i wanna go back... -Jo Henrik
  3. If your going there for two weeks you are going to experience bad weather (two nice weeks in a row would be exceptional in Norway). Get on the first ferry to Stavanger that day and do more shopping (i.e. more beer) for a couple of hours and go back again. You'll even make it back for the evening load if the weather picks up. -Jo Henrik
  4. Norway is huge, but I expect you are going to Lysebotn to jump Kjerag. 1) You don't need a car for this. Fly to Stavanger Airport, get on the bus to Stavanger and then the ferry to Lysebotn. In Lysebotn you don't need a car. If you get so drunk that you cant walk between the different areas you should definitely not be driving This is also valid for fat Americans 2) You can find the schedule at http://www.basekjerag.com (together with a lot of more information). Not really sure if it's updated for 2006, but if not, it will be updated before season starts. 3) Remember to do your shopping before coming to Lysebotn. You can buy beer and food there, but it is expensive (by Norwegian standards). By stuff in Stavanger before you board the ferry. Also remember to bring booze from the duty free at the airport. And if you don't drink, it's a cheap way to get friends -Jo Henrik

    Baffin Island

Depending on the dates I would definitely say I'm very interested. It's a long way from Norway where I'm at, but I went to Venezuela to jump Angel Falls, so I guess Baffin Island should be no problem. And of course, I'm not scared of the weather there either :) -Jo Henrik
  6. I have to agree with Jason. It was fantastic -Jo Henrik -Jo Henrik
  7. I'm just back home in Norway after almost three weeks in US and one week in Venezuela. I just wanted to thank everyone I met on my trip. I had some great jumps/beers with you guys in Twin Falls, at the Turkey Boogie, in Houston (Dave: thanks for that awsome A) and of course in Angel Falls, Venezuela. I got a total of 17 jumps, visited 3 countries, drank a whole lot of beers and had an adventure for life. Let me know if any of you guys are comming to Norway, I'll help you out :) -Jo Henrik -Jo Henrik
  8. Hi guys I'm coming over from Norway this weekend to join the Turkey Boogie and I was hoping to get some jumps in Twin Falls for a couple of days. I'll be in town on Monday (if my jet lag permits) and I hope some other jumpers are around. Never been to Twin Falls before, so it would be nice to have someone to jump with. -Jo Henrik -Jo Henrik
