By some standards our last freeway overpass static line jump would be considered a low pull... freefall 0.5 sec... canopy time 0.5 sec. That's a descent ratio for a low pull and yes... Greeny's throw and go's have got to fit hummin' it standards!! -Taylor "Can't plan fantastic!!!!!"

Tie a midget to your PC and tell him/her to stand on the edge in a strong position. As long as they can hold 80lbs and weigh less than your canopy can take hanging from the top..... YOUR SET!!! Good luck!! Count me in also on the next jump off said building. -Taylor "Can't plan fantastic!!!!!"

Justin: * If you get line twists over water and can't swim.... first stow your beanie, second kick out line twists, third land on the wrong side of the river on a 45 degree slope. :) Good times Joe!!!! * If your planning on taking 4 with no slider and skate shoes... tie them real tight. A shoe malfunction could cost you a mud landing in socks. * Be careful on 2-ways where your waiting for a wannabe Aussie who drink Fosters to dump. Iowa Skydivers Drunk and Rude @ Twin Falls Outback

I was present at the time of the fatality as well as being present at the time of the Outback incident. I apologized the very next day to both the new and old owner for what I had to do with that prior nights debauchery. I believe that what happened was nothing more than what to expect from a bunch of guys that watched a friend go in. The problem is that everything that happens in that 'Steakhouse', not bar, is oversimplied to one group known as Base jumpers. We all need to realize that it is a restaurant and a very fun place to get drink specials and discuss a lifetime of jumping stories. It's a $15 cab ride to Woodies for some late night partying where the 'F' bomb is actually encouraged and many over the hill fine ladies are willing to dance, drink, and cuss with you. I am not from TF, and have only been there twice, but I agree with walking cautiously at a place where everything bad gets dumped on the 'BASE' jumper. Cheers to you all... DOING MY FIRST 'A' THIS WEEKEND!!!!! :) ... and NOOOO I was not the one dancing dirty with a fine 50 yr old. She said she was 22. -Taylor "Can't plan fantastic!!!!!" -
My friend and I are heading out to Perrine this weekend. Anyone want to jump on this possibly rainy and windy weekend? If not jump, I'm down for an Outback visit with a great tip. -Taylor "Can't plan fantastic!!!!!"

Base17 has been my mentor. I know for a fact that he doesn't like the short stuff though. I'll see him this weekend and will ask anyway. If you want to head out there sometime, give me a call. :) -Taylor "Can't plan fantastic!!!!!"

Looking for locals that jump often in this area. I'm 15 jumps new, but I was mentored by the best. PM me if anyone wants some company on their next jump. :) -Taylor "Can't plan fantastic!!!!!"

I am 1yr into skydiving using it only as a pre-requisite for BASE. I have 100 skydives and I am an active big wall climber so I don't mind climbing. I am looking for someone who is willing to mentor me through my next 100 skydives, help me start to get my gear together for base, and any other training that would be a plus (i.e first aid). In return for a mentor I don't mind driving to crew base jumps, film base jumps, etc. I am serious about this so if anyone on the other side is also please send me a PM. I have read everything and anything on the web about BASE and definately plan on taking the APEX course once I hit 150 skydives. Here is the link to a recent balloon jump I made if anyone is interested, I had a blast filming it. It was my first attempt at a making a video from the raw film. (And yes, I accidently hit the easy cam button and the exposure is much to light). :) I live in Moreno Valley, CA and skydive with my buddies at Elsinore. http://video.freevideoblog.com/player.aspx?fileid=1330BA57-2AF3-423B-A392-306E923F8677 -Taylor "Can't plan fantastic!!!!!"

Stay positive Shayna. You sound like a kick a$% person. I understand mistakes of all types and severities and do realize that help is needed from time to time. As a civilian in the Navy, thanks for not asking for help from the government. Ask for help from the people and those of us with hearts will support and help you. I'll scroll up to find a place to send the money, otherwise someone send me a PM. When sh&% hits the fan in my world I'll smile knowing there is good people out there like Shayna. -Taylor "Can't plan fantastic!!!!!"

Sorry to make everyone so mad at me. I do have wonderful mentors at my home DZ and plan on learning a lot of great things about camera flying in the future. In the mean time I will continue to do solo and two ways jumps only with my mentors and friends as to not endanger any of you that may think me a terror of the air. I asked a simple question to start this thread and as usual with online threads, got blown away with good advice (whether it be liberal or conservative in nature). Thanks to you that offered good advice! Very excited to get back in the air this weekend, filming my fall. :) -Taylor "Can't plan fantastic!!!!!"

I realize that jumping with a camera is dangerous when done incorrectly. This is why I respect and listen to the many mentors I have at my home DZ. Just like any dangerous sport, I feel the final decision should be left to the one that is jumping, thus I am beginning to become annoyed with the comments that usually come on forums saying "All youngsters new to the sport should read about people dying and jump solo or with an instructor for atleast 500 million jumps". I respect this sport a lot and all of you that help me on a daily basis, but some things just never stop with this sport. As a well experienced Big Wall climber and mentor to many, I try not to waste my time telling people not to do something, but rather help them with the best way to do it to keep them safe. Let's all have fun doing all these wonderful things we are allowed to do. I will continue filming solo friends since because I am new and not comfortable doing more. Not because I heard it from many of you that believe I am to young in the sport to wear a camera. :) -Taylor "Can't plan fantastic!!!!!"

Excellent! Thanks, it worked fine with the XP version. I will save up for some good editing software next. -Taylor "Can't plan fantastic!!!!!"

I am very excited to have captured my first weekend of skydiving on my new Sony HC-21 handycam, but now I need to know the best way to get it to a useable computer format so I can email it to the buddies I jumped with. I have the camcorder and USB hookup with me. Do I need the seemingly crappy Sony pic software to upload a movie? I am completely new to this so sorry for a very likely stupid question, but any advice would be greatly appreciated. -Taylor "Can't plan fantastic!!!!!"
