  3. What everyone has to understand is that this evacuation happened fast. People just started showing up at hotels unannounced and hotels did everything possible to accommodate them. Now that we have all these people in hotels and they can't go back to where they came from, which never happens, we need to see what we can do to accommodate them and everyone else that have reservations to arrive in our cities. I should not have to tell everyone what we in the hospitality industry are doing to overcome these challenges but I am. Guests who Are Arriving Now We are confirming anticipated check out date at check in, alert arriving guests to dates sold out, and explain that we will assist in finding other accommodations when the need arises. Requiring incoming guests, to sign a statement agreeing that the guest will not be permitted to extend his/her stay. Guests Overstaying Their Reservations Due to the extraordinary circumstances resulting from Hurricane Katrina, many guests have requested (and at times demanded) to continue their hotel stays beyond their reservation check-out date. Given that almost all of the hotels in the affected areas are in a sold-out status, these requests may be difficult to handle. > In terms of transient guests, our hotels are actively encouraging guests with upcoming check-out dates to seek alternative accommodations if available. >We are explaining to these guests that we are sold out and encouraging them to voluntarily leave if they have somewhere to go. > It is important to note that we are not requiring any guest to leave who does not have alternative arrangements. >At the same time, we are actively contacting guests with upcoming reservations to explain the circumstances and ask if they can make alternative arrangements or postpone their trips. We were put in a situation where everything was out of control. Just like in New Orleans. Now we have to clean up what happened and ensure people are taken care of.

  5. Good luck. Fly there and grab and fly there and grab. Track, and pull your string. Hook low but not too low. Do it all as fast as possible. Pack fast, take chances, and kick out the twists on the next time. Most of all have FUN!
  6. Can't wait to see the genius plan our government has in place to solve the problems created by the hurricane. This is going to be harder to reastablish than Iraq.
  7. Ever heard the expression, "You ain't see nothing , yet?" This is just the beginning. Every major city in the south is going to have to go through this.
  8. Good luck, Kelly! Have fun this weekend. ...edited because I wasn't paying attention.
  9. Have they seen you in a bikini. That might be why they don't like you. You are hot hot hot.

    Bullshit?

    Very creative Seb. Very creative.
  13. Instead of leveling the city and starting over why not just level the city and relocate the people who lived there to new cities. New Orleans is below sea level and it will take billions to not just rebuild the city but to upgrade all the water pumps, etc. Hurricanes are bound to happen again. I'm not saying I agree with this but it is something that can be debated.
  14. [Ashtanga beats his head on his desk and decides that this is not worth debating anymore.] Billy why don't you and jilmiracle pull a Cindy Sheehan and go camp out in front of the White House until Bush makes hotels into shelters. That way the whole economy of the U.S. will go into deeper hell and everyone will be out of jobs not just people affected by the hurricane. Obviously you all are VERY passionate about it.
  15. Obviously you are not educated in the business of hotels, conventions, the effect of city wide sell outs. This is how cities survive. The effect on the city to not hold this game would hurt the overall economy of it. Obviously you are traumatized by the hurricane like we all are. You just feel like you can do something about it. You stated in an earlier post that you were gonna make telephone calls and send letters until they are all blue in the face. You think you can do something about it. Bill just said, if you think you can do something about it, then go ahead. Any person with logic knows that there is nothing to be done about it and we all just need to get over it.
  16. Bill never said anything about it being insane. This is what he said... You are trying to put someone down for not agreeing with you. That's not nice.
  17. Tell them you are still a virgin and you please yourself. They will be proud of you.
  18. Can someone tell me a reason why the U.S. has not provided the area with food and water drops yet? I just don't get it.
  19. Ok. Yes, she is a beautiful woman. I'm glad I can call her a friend.
  20. I'm called AssMonkey because my smelly feet stunk up Chucks trailer. Not much of a milestone.

  22. Casie is a hottie? I'll have to talk to her sometime.
  23. The (undisclosed) hotel chain that I work for is offering the company employee rate to hurricane victims. Believe me when I tell you we are hardly making any profit. We aren't losing money but we aren't really making money either.
  24. Your as smart as George Bush is honest. edited to say I'm out. Going to see the Phantom.
  25. They do. They make large donations to charities. They just have to let their hotels owners manage the hotels. The individual properties can not afford to provide to charities. Small donations, yes. Donations such as this, no. Don't even mention that womans name to hoteliers.
