how much skill is needed to deal with malfunctions?
Mike111 replied to danielmaxin's topic in Safety and Training
Hi dan, The other day i had a small set of line twists on a skymaster 230. For the firts second i was like.. what!!!!! But then the training kicked in,. once i worked out which way to untwist they came out pretty easily. Point being, I found that EP's were liek a ahbit, i did them automatically without thinking. As others have said having confidence and knowing them thoroughly will help you overcome the fear, but don't worry , i was shit scared liek you about them until one develoes the self belief that they can handle it. depends though how you use it. If it goes fast then youre probably being active, and vice versa.

Finally got the A!! Banged out the last 4 consols and finished with an unstable exit roll from 7k and pull at 3k.

Have to reweite review. Previous one said it was excellent, but now I need a new word better than that!!! Grant + Tomo work extremely hard, and run the DZ exceptionally well. Even with it being winter one can still can bang out 4 consols in one day!!! the gear and training is excellent, as shown by the continous wave of new students pouring in to start jumping. Their friendliness is unmatched, this place is easily 100/10, and I cannot think of a better place where I would have rather learned or continue to jump. With a 15 seater coming in march... it can only get better (which seems impossible as its alreayd perfect), and fulyl recommend anyone , regardless of where they live, to come and check it out. youre guaranteed a fab time! on a personal note - a very big thankyou to everyone there who helpd me get through AFF. 1. shaking the hands loosenesthe body and relieves tension. 2. smile 3. deep breathing. That should help. Good luck!

i see your point amd am glad you are ok. I remember reading a while back that skydiving attratcs certain people... and that people will be attracted to the sport because they will do everything they can to do it well. Thus for PR reasomns, then maybe people who are device dependant are in the wrong sport? And if it is to attratc those "who like it safe" then maybe it is a better thing to not make them mandatory and attract those that can handle any situation thrown at them because they know the risks, and not cos "i have an AAD so i will be fine". So thats for the PR. But then again AAD's do save lives. I dunno, maybe making a rule saying that one must make 5 jumps without an AAD, would help overcome that, as jumpers would put more focus on the proceddures and lkesson the AAD. Im not having ago at all at anyone who jumps with an AAd, but ive heard this before from experienced skydivers that if you can;t jump without an AAD, dont jump - im only a student!

to original poster... put britney spears in therer. and i might consider it
-
but doesnt it depend on the settlemtn before? don't couples agree on what they will part with if one gets divorced before they marry?
-
Very fair point... personallly i don't mind if a DZo wants AAD's to be worn by everyone - his business so he decides. But organisations IMHO shouldnt have to decide things like that.... not their business (apart from public opinion i guess)
