    Before i opened this i instantly was thinking - 50mm f1.4. Its a much nicer lens than the gen 2 1.8. I have the EX DC 2.8. Nice range, nice build, nice focus, but only average sharpness. Its an adequate walkaround lens but as soon as i can afford it i'm going to get the 24-70L. Bigger, heavier and way more expensive though and i don't tend to use stuff at the really wide end (apart from my 15mm for jumping!) - if i do maybe i'll pick up the 16-35 as well.     Listen to bri - he knows his stuff!!! I got my 17'' macbook pro (neener) from there about 5 months ago now, and since then i have used it every day, installed loads of stuff and it has never, not once, hung/crashed/run slow/had networking issues, or any issues whatsoever!
