I did. It was a combination of things. Fake friends. Too much family taking up skydiving time and when I did get to jump, it just never seemed the weather would cooperate. And I never really found the right people to jump with. Then we had this horrific snow storm of which I spent a ton of time unburying my car only to have the dumb snow plow bury me back in again. I had had it. So I told my boyfriend of the time (Today looking back; I'm sure he was thrilled) "see ya". I told my family "It's just for a couple of years; something different. I'll be back, honest," I quit my job, put my stuff in storage and moved 1400 miles away and moved in with an old friend's mom while i job hunted. Within a few months I was employed and manifesting at a great dropzone and had my own place again. That was in 1999 (I was 25) and I only go back to visit. I found my husband and the rest is history. We talk about moving up there but the cold keeps us here. It was the best thing I ever did and I really can't tell you that I put a lot of thought into it. I didn't take time to save up money or nothing. ~ Lisa ~ Do you Rigminder?

My last living Grandparent died 9 days before Christmas. He too was sick; but it was still sad to see him go. Sorry for your loss. ~ Lisa ~ Do you Rigminder?

I am a parent to my son and am very involved with my husband in raising him. As they say: The children are our future. And I donate blood. ~ Lisa ~ Do you Rigminder?

Two different jobs. I have a day job where I work for a company and then the company my husband and I own. Maybe that's why I can't have the job; no communication skills. ~ Lisa ~ Do you Rigminder?

How so? Sometimes it's necessary. Do you want your Dr to have skills that he/she "just picked up"? Or how about your teachers just saying "well, I don't know for sure, but lets see what happens here"? Or engineers designing a bridge without knowing about harmonics or tensile strength? Shared knowledge is very important for many occupations. But you are right, not all... And some programs do just take money and give a piece of paper that is hard to use in the "real world." But that is why it's important to think about what you want to learn about and why. With that, direct your energy and education to that goal. To back this up, while it won't kill anyone, I have experienced programmers with no degree and they write crap. They missed out on the hows and whys. They write junk code that is hard to maintain. We call it spaghetti-code. Degreed programmers have been taught more than just syntax. Anyone can pick up syntax. ~ Lisa ~ Do you Rigminder?

My answer is different depending on the degree. I have a bachelor's and would say it was worth it. I have almost 12 years of experience in my field and with my husband, run my own company doing the same thing. I am more qualified to do the senior position here at work than the senior doing the hiring is. But she is a PhD and feels very strongly. She refused to consider me for the senior position because I don't have a Masters. They hired someone with a Masters with little experience and expected ME to help her get up to speed. I was quite disgusted for a while. I do everything the PhD does and am actually relied on for assistance in more areas than just my job title. But I don't have a Masters so I ain't worth squat. My apps never get bad feed back and never are hard to use. I am constantly being brought in to fix the lack of "ease of use" issues with her apps. But I don't have a Masters so I don't know squat. Oops, guess you hit a sore spot. Bottom line, I'm 12 years into my career and I do all the same things the woman with the PhD does and I run my business with very happy clients; I do NOT want to go back to school. I think the bachelor degree was worth it but I don't feel the same way about the masters. Maybe this is because I don't see her any more advanced than me so what would be the point. If my salary were greatly being held back, I would consider it but I would resent it. ~ Lisa ~ Do you Rigminder?

We had a snow day today... well more like an ICE day. Cause the roads were slick. It was all melted by 10am but here I am "working" from home. ~ Lisa ~ Do you Rigminder?

We lost one house while waiting for ours to sell. So we ended up renting ours so we didn't lose this one. ~ Lisa ~ Do you Rigminder?

Ours have been like that for a while. I like going to a restaurant and not having to walk through the smoking section to get to my seat. I haven't been to any bars though. I assume if I go to a bar I'd come out smelling like smoke. Guess not anymore. ~ Lisa ~ Do you Rigminder?

'Cause it's fun as hell. That's all I got. I just love it. I am so flipping happy after a jump I can't stop smiling. ~ Lisa ~ Do you Rigminder?

We had my husband'ns 2000 R1 on our State Farm and it wasn't outrageous like that. We had it piggy backed with the 2 cars and probably got a discount too. ~ Lisa ~ Do you Rigminder?

Gross. My father is allergic to sugar so we didn't have a lot of sweets. It took me years to learn to like BBQ because of how sweet it is. In my mind sweets is for desserts and vending machines. Sweet does NOT belong in deviled eggs. Mayo and olive juice and that is it! ~ Lisa ~ Do you Rigminder?

Good News: I'm making deviled eggs. Bad News: All I have is Miracle Whip. Good News for the Hubby: he won't have to share them with me. Bad News for me: all that work and i still have not eaten. Share yours. ~ Lisa ~ Do you Rigminder?

This makes me feel better about my decision last Friday. I got to work and realized when I poured some Advil into a baggie I left it on the counter at home. And my cat is addicted to ripping apart baggies. I ran home immediately to find that I had also left the bag open but it was obvious they had not yet discovered it. I was quite relieved and glad i made the trip. Glad your pooch is ok! ~ Lisa ~ Do you Rigminder?

My cat eats kleenex (used or not) and she also eats plastic bags. If you buy something that requires assembly you have to hide the bags. She'll destroy the bag and you'll find screws everywhere. ~ Lisa ~ Do you Rigminder?
