Most jump-consuming skill to get your next license?
sjc replied to sjc's topic in Safety and Training
I am curious what are the most jump-consuming skills to get your next license. I am done with my skills for B license and I see a common pattern between what I was doing for A and B licenses. Some skills were not necessarily difficult but they consumed more jumps that I thought they would. Canopy skills took me longer than free fall skills. I am not sure that it is true for C and D licenses though. What do you think? [edit] It supposed to be "Landing" not "lending" :) I guess I had to add another category "spelling proficiency" [/edit] Regards, Alexander. http://staticlineinteractive.com -

I see there a lot of sexual references during skydiving education :) But they stick in the head for a long time... Regards, Alexander. http://staticlineinteractive.com -
Confusing windsock direction and landing downwind
sjc replied to sjc's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
It happened that when I was landing I looked at the windsock and I clearly saw the direction the wind was blowing, but in my head I confused which way I should land. I knew that I should land upwind, I saw the windsock... and still something switched in my head and I made a wrong decision. After some time I was jumping with my friend and he made the same mistake. It made me curious. Is it just me and my friend, or is it a common mistake most student skydivers go through? Do you remember doing that? Regards, Alexander. http://staticlineinteractive.com -
I know there are dzs around. Thoug I did not pay a visit to all of them :) Regards, Alexander. http://staticlineinteractive.com

Hello, everyone. I started a thread: http://dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=1487899;sb=post_latest_reply;so=ASC;forum_view=forum_view_collapsed;;page=unread#unread Now thanks to all of you, I have some results available :) Here they are: Out of 300 people: 27% experienced skydivers, 46% want to try skydiving. 15% are not interested in skydiving, and the rest is learning to skydive. The fun part: Out of experienced skydivers less than 30% saw a skydiving simulator. Out of thouse who have seen it only 20% tried it. And it makes sense that for non experienced skydivers only 5% saw such simulators. Not too many simulators around. Or maybe people do not need them, let's jump for real! For thouse who never jumped 20% of people did not want to hear about skydiving. They did not try it and they do not whant to :( But 50% of those, who never skydived, would like to make a jump. What I've learned for myself from this survey, that there are more people who would like to try skydiving than those who doesn't. But on the other hand, the results may be biased, because thouse who do not want to hear about skydiving, just did not participate in the survey. :( Regards, Alexander. http://staticlineinteractive.com

Sure, I will to flyangel2: #7 and #8 are about complete Virtual Reality simulators. And I was referring to a software program like a game with a "software skydiving simulator". No wind tunnels yet. to PalletMan: I guess it can be both, but less of a game and more of a tool. And I've seen your thread about software ideas. That's cool, now I want such thing too

Let's pretend that it is a marketing research :) You can browse my website and see that I am kind of into 3D and and I do like skydiving. I wanted to take an MBA related class, but I am from electrical engineering major so here I am :) merging all of my interests together trying to make sense of all of this business stuff :) To freeflygoddess: Yep I screwed the #3, though I tried to add another option later, let's see if it would work out, because I was doing it under the hood :) Regards, Alexander. http://staticlineinteractive.com
