Mostly freestanding. Nothing very big out east anyway. I prefer some thin gloves that make alot of friction on the palm. If the gloves are too big or padded you use alot of strength gripping the rung instead of hooking it with your hand. I never jump with gloves on. I'm also looking at a cable ascender. Hey Congrats! I too did my 100th out east this weekend. Tried to rodeo a birdman.... then took it to a turbo spin. 101 was a night jump tho. I wish I could say I was pied, but instead they duct taped me to a strecher and poured flour and molasses and water and a few dozen eggs and a bunch of other shit on me.... You're right. Transport doesn't say anything about reserve repacks. It's only for if you and the dz will be covered under the CSPA insurence. I don't know what the deal is in the US tho. But I've been to American dz's where they've allowed Canadians to jump >120 day but

1st time on a new canopy you should always check the stall point. Keep flaring and find the point where it (the flight/feel of the canopy) gets "mushy"... the brink of stalling. Then slowly continue until the canopy stalls. If your brakelines are too long, you won't be able to do this without wrapping the lines around your hands. (Make a point here to see how much MORE past a full arm extension you need to stall it). Then talk to the rentor about readjusting them. Personally I have my stall point just under my hips (almost full arm extension). Spectre's are known to have a strong flare in them. At our last boogie our final otter load (with all the girls helpin out), took us to 17950 ASL (we're 500 feet ASL). So that's a 17450 ft jump. We sucked er down to "3 grand" (on alit 2.. that's 15000ft) and 4 of us were under canopy. My 1st jump with my 1st time in a plane. Our ole C182. I was so pumped just from take off let alone when the door opened! (It was an IAD jump). Then the winds picked up, and blew me backward under my manta into the swamp at the end of our runway. I flew into a tree. It wasn't until sunset until I got outta there....
