  1. Wow, I hope that is not how they are doing it. As for the camera, that has been done for years. Time and pressure will always show you who a person really is!
  2. Why don't you just call Louie at UPT and ask him. He works in the engineering department the last I knew. Time and pressure will always show you who a person really is!

  8. If it is so subjective then explain why it works so well in the public areas that I discussed? Do you also keep your mouth shut when people get out of line because you don’t want to hurt their feelings? Also as I stated later in my post, if you post specific rules like I said the city does it seems to be almost self governing. Most people tend to follow the rules if they know the rules or expectations and yes I know there will always be the jerk out there but that is the same anywhere. Again, it seems to work in other places. Time and pressure will always show you who a person really is!
  9. Okay, so what is wrong with having a policy/rule that if you, your dog or your kids behave appropriately you are welcome, if not then you have to leave. I have gone to places (not DZ's now) that will have printed rules like dogs have to be on a leash at all times, owners must pick up after their dogs, dogs that are aggressive or continually barking will be asked to leave. These are typical rules that are posted at the public beach, tiki bar and parks in the area where I live. They are fair and apply to everyone. In fact they have post with bags to pick up after your dogs. What is not acceptable about that policy? Now that I think about it, you are right in a way, the problem is that most DZ’s don’t have any posted rules. Maybe the balance would be to try and have posted rules like the ones above and see how they work. Time and pressure will always show you who a person really is!
  10. Bull shit! “ALL”?....NOT! From what I read in your list if I put people in place of dogs the list reads more accurately for most of the list. My dog has never bitten anyone, goes to the bathroom when and where I tell her too and I have always cleaned up after her. Oh, I will bet her ass is cleaner than yours! She does not show up at the DZ with fleas but hates it when she has to sit in the plane with one of your friends with head lice that still smell of alcohol from the night before. She has never done drugs, caused any problems in the landing area or walked around the DZ in a drunken stupor or been stoned. She has never stolen anyone’s gear, spilled beer on it or anyone else for that matter nor has she puked on anyone’s gear. She doesn’t smoke or blow smoke in your face. She doesn’t try and sleep with everyone, act like a pervert or grope. She has never been in a fight at the DZ, stabbed, shot or been responsible for anyone dying. She has promoted the sport in a positive way locally, nationally and internationally. She has served mankind and her country and never so much as asked for a thank you. As a therapy dog she goes to children’s hospitals, schools and retirement homes and brings smiles and love to those that are there. She spent eight years searching for missing victims of disasters including 22 days at the WTC. She has been to over a hundred searches of missing children and people. Have you ever brought a small lost child back to the arms of a crying mother on her knees? She helped develop and train both civilian and military to jump with dogs. And when she is at the DZ she does not go up to people unless called but a lot of people seem to come up to her. She listens more than she talks and never brags. Can you say that about you? You can yell at her all you want in your anger, but then if you sit down on the ground and are sad she will quietly lay her head in your lap to make sure you are okay and help you feel better. She will never ask you to apologize for yelling at her. You are right Andy, who would ever want something like that around them………………..on second thought I would rather have her around the DZ then some of the people that I know that come there. I would tell her to give you the paw but she is better than that. Time and pressure will always show you who a person really is!

  17. Really? Guess again. There are plenty of laws that directly govern a dog and its actions. Laws allow the taking, detaining and caging of dogs in all states. Also, when was the last time you saw a person legally euthanized for their dog biting someone else? Or are you saying that when dogs are legally euthanized for biting someone that the law did not directly govern or effect the dog? I think the dog would have a different answer. 18. ROTFLMAO Yeah right................NOT! Bill, you really need to stop sticking your tongue on all those cell phone batteries. Time and pressure will always show you who a person really is!
  19. I work for a large company (15,000+) and have noticed that most of the new people that they are hiring are 40+. I saw one of the recruiters a few weeks ago and asked them why and she said that it used to be that no company would hire anyone over 45 and now that trend has reversed and they typically hire at 40+ because they would rather hire someone that has a good work ethic and have them for 15-20 years than have someone that doesn't for 30 years. It really makes you think and shake your head at the young people today that have become the entitlement generation. Time and pressure will always show you who a person really is!
  20. Your avitar so much reminds me of my ex wife Time and pressure will always show you who a person really is!
  21. Bill, you of all people know that the military uses civilian DZ's all the time and SAR here in the U.S. is usually not military. The last SAR team that I did training with brought in $38,000 to a local DZ for training, jumps and gear. So, do you think it was a bad business decision on the DZ's part? As I said in my previous post “No one including me wants a bad dog, kid or person at the DZ but that does not mean all are bad.” I disagree as a lot of DZ's have given owners the right to have dogs at the DZ if they "wish" to and just like people they can take that right away. There are also laws that govern dogs too and in some cases would make it illegal for you to prevent dogs from being at the DZ. The bottom line is I don't think dogs, kids etc. are always a problem at the DZ and should not be punished for those who are. I would be the first to say keep the bad ones out and their owners too if they can't control them and be responsible. Time and pressure will always show you who a person really is!
  22. Want to bet? Then explain how training the military and SAR how to jump with dogs is not a reason for them to be there? Also, there are times that skydivers come out to the DZ and don't jump, so they have no "reason" for being there. Time and pressure will always show you who a person really is!
  23. Nope, not in denial just don't like it when you 100% ban all, good or bad. No one including me wants a bad dog, kid or person at the DZ but that does not mean all are bad. Besides, 78% of the respondents in this poll seems to think it is okay too, or are they in denial too? Time and pressure will always show you who a person really is!
  24. The same could be said about some skydivers. I have had skydivers spill beer on my gear but never had a dog piss on it. Time and pressure will always show you who a person really is!
  25. Actually by my count here on earth you were off by 300. 1900 - 1600=300 Time and pressure will always show you who a person really is!
