  2. So which should we do? Time and pressure will always show you who a person really is!
  3. I agree and as I stated in previous posts I don't like McCain's economics but then as I also stated we do have the democrats controlling congress so the issues that you listed above are covered. I don't agree. When I was speaking of my children and grandchildren's future I was talking about their safety and that is my problem with Obama, I just don’t feel safe with him as commander and chief. Just as the democrats have their strengths as you listed above I feel the republicans are stronger as far as national security. I also think that we have a check and balance of power when we have a president from one party and a controlled congress from the other. Time and pressure will always show you who a person really is!
  4. To me, Obama lacks any credible executive leadership. As a senator and a former legislator he developed policy, he did not enforce it or have to make high pressure time critical decisions. I don’t feel that overseeing his congressional staff, college interns or chairing some committees qualifies him to be commander in chief. I am sure in the future he will make a great leader but not now. As far as getting deeper in debt or moving to a police state we do have a democratically controlled congress that can change that so that does not concern me so much. As for the rest we will just have to agree to disagree and hope that what ever the outcome, things get better. Time and pressure will always show you who a person really is!
  5. Lucky, Please understand very clearly that I will not respond to any issue you raise until you learn to be respectful, use peoples proper names, have respect for other people and their right to their views. Stop your attacks and name calling and stop belittling people. Your hostility has been clearly noted by several people here and you chose to continue to be abusive. 6. Chris, Very good point. In hindsight I am sure Bill did not mean any disrespect about it, so Bill, I apologize for that part of the response. Stay safe and be well, Mike Time and pressure will always show you who a person really is!
  7. My bad, I guess instead of asking if you read what I wrote I should have written if you understood what I wrote. Please read the highlighted parts below, I AM talking about the future, that of my kids and grandkids!!! Also, I did not grow fearful because of getting old, I am fearful of one person that wants to lead our country for the next four years. The reference to getting older was only to express that as you do so, you usually gain life experiences and some form of wisdom (so I hear) that sometimes gives you more insight as to what is and could happen in the future. I fully support and respect your right to choose too. You do know that you can respect someone’s views without agreeing with them don’t you? Disrespect is never good and generally shows poor character, but then it is one of those things in life that you either have it or you don’t. Stay safe and be well, Mike Time and pressure will always show you who a person really is!
  8. Please show me where I have used the word "terrorism" or show me where I tried to project fear on anyone. When I stated my reasons, terrorism was not even the reason why. I said what I was afraid of and not what anyone else should be. I stated what my choices were and why. I know the chain of command and that leadership and confidence goes from the top down, so to say that the president does not protect us or can't be a deterrent is a joke. I personally don’t want someone as the president in these times who might hesitate from having NO command experience either domestically or internationally. Next time try and not make something up that does not exist or try to instill fear by using what someone else didn't say. And don't ever throw the "terrorism" card up to me or think you know the fear of terrorism more than me. You may have known or lost someone that was at 9/11 or the war but I was at ground zero for 22 days looking for people and cutting body parts out. We had so many people begging our team day after day to find their missing loved ones so don't ever bring that cheap trick “terrorism” card to the play ground. Time and pressure will always show you who a person really is!
  9. It has nothing to do with honor. The illusion would be on your part if you think that Obama can protect us more than McCain. But I would love to hear how you think he can do that. Well, since Obama and the democrats were in charge of congress and did nothing I guess the same can be said about Obama. Did you not read what I wrote? 10. So has my granddaughter, but I don’t think that qualifies her for the job either. So why does that make him a good leader? Has he ever protected his country? Has he ever served as a commander in chief of anything other than some congressional staff and aids? Has he ever negotiated contracts with foreign countries or with the largest global corporations? I will take the governor experience over the senate experience. Time and pressure will always show you who a person really is!
  11. Then you are not for either party, right? I blame both the horrid Bush administration and the inept democratic controlled congress. To me, both parties are responsible and could have guided us in a better direction. Both parties promised “change” and both failed. If you want to get down to it, “political parties” did not damage America, people did. I have been a lifelong registered democrat but as you get older sometimes you views change. I am not looking at which party will give me hope anymore, but which people will. “Change”, ah yes, the almighty hope……………..but is it? Change in and of its self is not always good. The question is what do we need to change, polices, people, parties or do we just need to start to use what is already there and not being used? For me, this election comes down to trust, which person I trust with my children and grandchildren’s future. All the other issues are less important to me. Both candidates have slung the mud and made promises that cannot be kept (that is why they call them politicians). The bottom line is I do not trust Obama, he scares the hell out of me. I don’t like McCain’s economics but he makes me feel safe at night when I am putting my granddaughter to bed. He has stood guard and protected our freedoms in the past and I trust that he will always do so. In this case I have to take wisdom and experience over youth and enthusiasm. 12. Nor can you help yourself. I have seen you pounce on people for a typo or spelling error but it is clear that you don't apply it to yourself. You don't try and win people over to see your view but rather try and belittle them and beat them into submission. You are like one of those little yipping fear biting dogs. I have sat back and watched you post for a while now and the sad thing is that even when you have good points to present, the way you present the information takes away from your contribution. Now you have two choices, you can in typical self proclaimed "nappy-headed ho" fashion shred this post like you do to everyone else or take it for the constructive criticism that it is intended and maybe change the way that you respond to people so that they want to be on your side and will value what you have to offer. The ball is in your court. Stay safe and be well, Mike Time and pressure will always show you who a person really is!
  13. Okay, I will bring the wine Time and pressure will always show you who a person really is!
  14. Which just reinforces the need for good leadership. That's a joke, right? Time and pressure will always show you who a person really is!
  15. When you return to earth I would suggest you do the following: 1. Get educated on what Hillary said about Obama in the primaries. 2. Listen again to her speech at the DNC and what she didn't say that reinforces her views throughout the primaries that he lacks leadership abilities as a President. 3. Understand that her speech left open her ability to go after him again in the 2012 rematch. 4. Retake high school American Government & Politics 101. After completing the above, please return to the conversation. P.S. I could care less about McCain or Obama as I don't like either of them as a choice for president. Time and pressure will always show you who a person really is!
  16. You don’t think that being able to lead is important? You don’t think that since this has been one of the core issues about Obama that even Hillary hit on during the primaries that she should have addressed it to help bolster confidence in Obama? Time and pressure will always show you who a person really is!
