  1. My good skydiving buddy and I had a whole summer of jumping planned until a couple of weeks ago he broke his leg sking in france. He's out of skydiving until october, must be a moral to the story somewhere. Also, you had to pay for camera on your AFF? whats that all about?
  2. Just been watching this brilliant video, one of the TI's in it is constantly doing back flips out of something like an otter. Very proffessionaly shot video. [/url]http://www.skydivingmovies.com/ver2/pafiledb.php?action=file&id=1458&string=tandem%20spin
  3. I don't think that the droguefall speed would be exceeded within 5 or 6 seconds of exit. Making any fun and games on exit ok.
  4. Yes, i watched the video. I have it here.
  5. This isn't headdown for a few seconds before throwing the drogue. This is Headdown to sit to headdown for the entire dive.
  6. This video was filmed in Morroco
  7. yer maybe/prob, but the passanger looked like they where brickin' it!
  8. I have just watched a film of a tandem doing headdown transitions. Is this normal?
  9. I think the watch face is too small to see in freefall and be certain what you are reading. I find it brilliant under canopy and half the price of a neptune. I just disagree that its a fashion statement. I think digital watches went out with the 80's.
  10. My experience might help you. I bought my own gear straight off of AFF it was a pilot 188, gorgeous canopy with 200 jumps on it in a crappy old talon container cypres with 2 years left on it. I paid £700 thats about $1200. I put 50 jumps on it and sold it on for £800. All the time that i had it my friends where paying £10 a jump for rentals making that £500 of dead money for my friends. I then used the £800 towards a new wings/ spectre 170 rig. This work really well for me and i didnt plough loads of money into rentels. The rig i had first is probably still doing the rounds of new jumpers and they are very easy to sell on. Also it feels great having your own gear and you can learn to pack quicker which saves you more money. All this saving gives you more jump money and thats what its all about!
  11. I don't agree that a suunto is a fashion statement. I use my sd alti in freefall and my Suunto under canopy, I find that works great for me. With the Suunto decreasing in 10ft increments.
  12. I like the tradition, made me feel relaxed and part of a group, when i felt as if i was alone and about to die. Which was all the way through AFF and most of my first 50 jumps. Its all good fun
  13. Does anybody know if Sibson is open for jumping tomorrow? I see it says on their website that they are open 6 days a week but it doesn't say what day they are closed. Thanks in advance.
  14. My friend had a skyhook assisted cutaway from a step through mal at emporia in Feb. From the video footage we timed the reserve deployment as 1.8 seconds from cutaway to fully open reserve. We opened our mains at the same height and he lost very little altitude relative to me due to his cutaway.
  15. Congrats! Welcome to the world of skydiving. Looks like you had lots of fun in your pictures on freefall addicts website. Don't worry about all the bitching in here its normal. All the same people are lovely to eachother on the DZ, with the odd exception.
  16. Adrian, my personal hero. To sit round, drink beer and talk with you was a dream come true for me. That was just a couple of weeks ago. This is a link to a lovely photo of Adrian from a couple of weeks ago in Texel. http://www.ukfreefly.com/gallery/displayimage.php?album=2&pos=16
