The new GLX: The new GLX is a ground launching machine! After several years of beta testing we have developed a parachute that is easy to launch and a joy to fly down the mountain. The GLX is completely cross braced with a hybrid nose section. The center three cells of the canopy are open and the cells on each side of the center are closed with opening similar to a JVX. The GLX has no stabilizers, reinforced ribs and utilizes Spinnaker cloth. Spinnaker material has been used for years on ram air kites and paragliders. Spinnaker material is crisp and thick allowing it to hold the airfoil's shape better. Spinnaker material makes launching easier and is more rigid during flight. The GLX comes standard with two HMA or Vectran line sets. As an option, pilots can get a continuous line set allowing broken lines to be easily changed in the field without tools. A continuous line set makes loosing a line during flight less "stressful" since you have more attachment points between you and the canopy. If your serious about ground launching and want the most from your Bladerunning experience there is only one choice. Ask anyone who has flown a GLX and they will all tell you the same. o'k now I'm just cofused. if you had a 90 s/f velo loaded at lets say 1.9 and the same jumper took a 103 velo with lead to the same wing loading of 1.9 why would people say the 103 would swoop farther??? wing loading is wing loading right! if you load a larger canopy the same as a smaller canopy wouldn't the larger canopy perform the same as the smaller canopy I.E wouldn't the 103 at 1.9 become the same as the 90 at 1.9 god somebody please help me with this question I don't care about fame I just want people to know my name qote ( Andrew Cebuhar) the thread is dead

I have been doing some thinking and reading and with a few mods could a P.D spectre make an acceptable base canopy and if not why?? and I know you should only jump base spesific gear and canopies but hypothetically speaking again what if a spectre was the cinario. well common sense. would a sheet of paper fall faster than a pen! would a 100 pound girl fall slower than her 190 pound coach? it's all about drag less weight more float. More weight less float and better penetration and speed. So they use weights for say the 100 pound girl to fall at the same rate as her coach or the coach would thro on a larger suit to throw out more drag so he to becomes as floaty as the student. Ok I know its all about the pilot not the canopy but to go along with the pilot would body shape (Im predicting yes) have a real significant effect on how far your swoop goes. Now shannon is a tall guy compared to jay or heath right! So when J.T broke the record could it have had something to do with the lesser drag his body was producing or! because he popped his wing at the right time in the swoop????? or would both of those actions sum up the swoop it self.
