    BD Long Lines

third problem- the wind, at the end of the day when the wind got bad, alot of people where landing in the water, so the boats were full, and jumping was put on a hold. (so I heard)

    The No NPS Banner

QuoteHehe, I was packing fast! But a buddy wanted to get video from the landing area so that burned up some time. I seem to remember getting done packing the same time as you, got some landing footage, and was still back to the exit point before all the groups where done jumping! back even before you! if I remember correctly. then we still stood in line for 2 hours to jump again dont blame long lines on me!
  7. anyone making any (other) jumps at BD? PM me, a few friends and I may be looking!

  10. if you exit facing the tail and lean forward, the relative wind is the same on the hill as it is in normal freefall.

  13. I just wanted to thank everyone who gave me info on this subject. Thank you for that, and more inportantly, thanks for trusting a fellow freeflyier to make the right choices when it comes to using the info provided. As for the people who doubt my judgement, I dont take it personaly Its good to have people out there tring to make this a safer sport.
  14. I realize that a ball is a training aide, and that is why I would like to jump one. I would never dream of trying to jump a ball by my self, but from time to time I do jump with people who are more than capable, and have experience with a ball. As for the spot , we have a large area of woods and swamp around my home dz, and the other dz I visit. As for posting this on the internet, I expected any repleys would be PM, But I should have specified that.

  17. Hey Everyone, Quick question for those of you who know. I am looking to do ball jumps in the near future and I need to know the correct weight for a freefly ball. My average speed is about 145-155. Thanks
  18. THEN Apex as well. yea, guess it was. and since we're on the subject of bridge day, last year I ordered the boogie version of the BD vid, and all I got was the jumps.Triax never returned my emails though, but its no big deal
  19. I made my first base jump at bridge day last year, and I rented gear from vertigo (now apex) it cost me 200 bucks, but in my opinion thats a small price to pay to help keep you safe. base jumping, in it self is very dangerous!!!! why make it more so by jumping inadequate gear
  20. i keep my pc 101 with a.45 wide angle on manual focus and ive never had a problem, doesnt matter if the jumper is close (3') or im shooting open canopys 50-100' away the vid is still pritty clear
  21. rich is the man. he helped me get into base. stay safe over there guy's
  22. heres a still pic from the jump
  23. i was making a jump last weekend on my alpha117 and after opening i went to unstow my brakes when i noticed my left toggle was balled up, so i unstowed the brakes and brought them in front of my face so i could see what was wrong and the toggle came off leaving my brake line trailing behined me. luckly the canopy was flying straight, and ive ben practicing rear riser landings up high so it all worked out ok,just bruised my elbows alittle (its very easy to stall with rear risers)
