I have a vector 2 container manufactured in 1988. it's old but I had my rigger check it out and it works for a first rig. The container has about 750 jumps on it and my main has about 170 jumps on it. I also bought a used cypress. Hackey

Excellent pics dude! I have them all downloaded already...especially the ones of me and pammi getting dumped on! It was a great time and for those who couldn't make it this time you need to come next time! I really enjoyed meeting everyone and jumping with them, especially jumperpaula, slappie, zennie, and aggie dave. Airann, I wish we had more time to chat. I only met you briefly and I was really looking forward to you "messing with me" LOL. Although you did a little bit at the scr ceremony and I liked it! hehehe ! Oh, and I did score in operation melon...you know who you are! hehehe ! All in all the best skydiving weekend I ever had! Hackey

You deserve the credit for organizing this thing and encouraging people to come. It wouldn't have happened in the first place if it was not for your efforts!! As far as you not being in this record, don't sweat it. We're gonna break that record next time and you'll be in it. You just have to remember to arch, brother! It's all good. Also, thanks again for letting me stay at your place and tell your cat I'm sorry for stepping on him in the middle of the night - or was it in the early morning? Hell, that whole night is kind of a blur. Next time I'm down maybe you can help me with my freeflying! Hackey

I just spent a weekend skydiving at Skydive Spaceland and I honestly have to say it was the best weekend I have ever had skydiving!! The dives were great, the people were great, and the vibes were great. I felt like I had been skydiving there all along. The facilities are very nice too and a huge landing area, along with air conditioned packing. I've seen some nice DZ's, I started out at Skydive Chicago. This place, IMHO, is the best place I've gone to. Top notch load organizing! I came away a better skydiver than when I came. I don't know how I could give this place anything less than a top rating!!

This first dropzone.com gathering was the bomb!! I hope we can make it even bigger and better next year! It was quiet an experience to get my scr and a dropzone.com record in the same weekend - and the SCR was done on my 69th jump! How sweet is that? Skydive Spaceland is the greatest! If you've never been there, I highly recommend it! The jumps were great and the vibes were great! wooooohooooo! A special thanks to Slappie for organizing the event and letting me stay over at his place. Hackey

My home DZ, Skydive Illinois, is also shut down because of this. Fortunately, I have three other DZ's in the area to choose from, one of which I haven't been to yet. I talked to the DZO and he says that USPA is lobbying for an exception for skydiving, but even if they don't succeed, the worst case scenario is we miss one weekend. Hackey

I think what it boils down to here is trust. Do you or do you not trust USPA to do what is in our best interest and in the best interest of our sport. While it's true that signing this proxy is a leap of faith, so to speak, I think we need to put a little faith in our USPA officials. JMHO Hackey

If everyone in the WTC jumped out with a static line parachute, chances are most of them would get into a canopy wrap with another jumper or a midair collision and die anyway. Think about it...tens of thousands of canopies in that little space. Not possible. The safest way was the stairs, unfortunately, there was not enough time to get everyone out. I think this guy did not really think this thing through, and he has some kind of chip on his shoulder about skydivers. Maybe it's because he knows his little static line jumps are not real skydives and are nothing compared to a real skydive. Hackey

Hackey = chicagoskydiver, that's me. And it's Hackey, not Hackie. Actually, that was my nickname before I started skydiving because my last name is Hackman. It's just a coincidence that it has any relevance to skydiving, and it seems to have stuck with me in the skydiving world. Actually, Kris started calling me that and everyone else followed suit so I just went with it. I'm even listed in the computer at two drop zones under "Hackey". As for getting a pie, air ann, bring it babe!!! Can't wait for this trip, it's gonna be a blast! Hackey

You're in that difficult period after student status where you transition to experienced skydiver. I would talk to your load organizers and let them know what you want to do - they should be able to help you out. Try to get them to put you with more experienced jumpers....you'll learn more. That's a little easier said than done, but most experienced jumpers don't mind helping out a newbie once in a while, because someone had to help them out when they were learning. Hackey
