  2. Reminds me of a 10 mile bad spot of mine. I was flying and using a loran to spot. Not my regular DZ, so I wasn't familiar with the landmarks. The JM had a topless tandem with BIG fake ones. I had the loran on the wrong page, and I followed it to the wrong waypoint. Called for the door and the JM looked out and shook his head no. I shook my head yes, he again said no. I looked at my loran and saw my mistake. Now, every time I go down there I'm reminded of my bad spot.
  3. I'm a vegetarian, but I'm not good at it.
  4. I was flying standby from Maui to the Big Island. The PA announced the usual rows to board. I didn't see anybody get up and they made about 3 more announcements for people with tickets to board. I didn't get up because they didn't call for standby. They start to put up the ropes and close the doors, so I jump up and tell them I'm standby. I rush into the plane and I'm the only passenger on board-nobody but the flt crew, flt attendants, and me. I thought I would get the service of my life. The flt attendants took one look at me, went into the galley, and brought out a bag of peanuts and a coke. I didn't see them the rest of the flight. They said this aircraft had mechanical problems earlier in the day, and it still needed to be in position regardless of how many people on board. It was an extra flight they flew that wasn't on the schedule. I had shown up at the airport waiting for the next flight out. Kind of cool being on that airplane by yourself.
  5. I read a book about it once. Anyway, did the course material describe a well balanced meal-how much fat, carbs, protien, or is figuring out the percentage part of the task?
  6. I've owned a 2000 F250 with a 7.3 engine for 2 years. I do not own a travel trailer, but I've towed a car trailer a couple times with no problem. The only discrepancy I've had was a minor, but difficult to get at oil leak. The warranty covered the repair. If you would like more questions answered about Ford diesel trucks, go to: http://www.thedieselstop.com/. Select 'forums' in the main menu. You'll be accustom to the layout since it works like DZ.com. I can't remember when Ford started using the 6.0 diesel but it may have been in 2002. You will see a subject title for 6.0 and 7.3 engines. Select one of your choice and start a thread. These owners are fanatics, but I've gotten some good information from them. A lot of diesel mechanic own them, and they are not bashful about giving people the information they need to fix their trucks.
  7. Yes it was a given, but I should have included it as a choice. I am also the pilot and mechanic, so I am very interested in getting up and down safe.
  8. Drake Shelby? Porn Star? What would he say if the real Drake was reading this thread? LOL David
  9. As a jump plane owner a comment on another thread got me thinking. What is most important to you about the aircraft you jump? Add comments if you need to say more.
  10. A friend shared one with me from his list when he was in Vietnam. 57. Never run out of ammo.
  11. Mike has mentioned the 1000hp mod around the DZ, and the 5 blade props. Only problem is the mod as it stands right now is for the C90's and E90's. His is a B90. Have you seen the prices for those airframes? Not cheap enough, yet.
  12. I agree, and heres how it works when I'm flying. I'll get the winds aloft and figure out the spot. The skydivers getting on board will ask where the spot is. I'll call the cut, and the they will check the spot before getting out. If they are shaking their head no, I try to figure out what happened. Did I enter the coordinates wrong or what? This is based on most skydivers do not know the winds aloft, and I don't think you can spot if you don't know. If a person onboard knows the winds and wants to spot or if we have a student that needs the practice, they can spot.
  13. http://amerijet.com/ I'll send you an email as you requested.

Had it and love it. I was far-sighted and the procedure was just approved when I had mine done. I'm not 20-20, but I don't have to wear my glasses!
  15. On the same line, liability exposure for pilots, mechanics, packers....are they covered under the skydiving waiver.
  16. I don't think any rules were broken. FAI sporting license are recognized in other countries. I'll bet he was covering himself with the USPA insurance. CSPA insurance probably doesn't cover you in the US. Why couldn't you convince him that was you?>?>?
  17. I'm so thirsty I could fart dust.
  18. 767-400 with an engine shipping pod.
  19. Not me, but I've seen someone exit at 240' with a skydiving rig (not a base rig), and it was his first or second jump on the main.
  20. Beer is such an important ingredient in road rage.
  21. It arrived MEM. Its out there on the runway.
  22. My news says she was given the tape. Do we really know she filmed the shooting? http://www.airdisaster.com/news/1103/26/news.shtml
