  1. A velo 97 is what I'm jumping now! Just kidding. Thanks for your input.
  2. I'm looking for input on canopies. I'm a fun jumper over 50, exit weight 230. I'm looking for a canopy, either 7 or 9 cell, that opens softly, flies great and lands softly. I don't mind having to run it out on no wind days but cross country is out! Any input would be helpful.
  3. Angel Fire hands down!!! I've had a reserve ride on mine and the canopy ride was fantastic. I wish they would offer it as a main. Quick opening, great handling and super flare! I've had several reserve rides over 36 years in the sport and the Angel Fire was the best!
  4. John Sherman, Bob Sinclair, Dean Westgaard, Bob Stroud, Dan Poynter
  5. Between Skydiving, dating, school and working to pay for everything it took awhile to get my A. I needed my DL asap so I didn't have to depend on a ride. It's hard to soar like an eagle with your Dad or worse, your Mom hanging out a the DZ while you jump.
  6. They had to, I needed a ride to the DZ. I just turned 16 and didn't have a drivers liscense yet.
  7. pm the price of the pro track
  8. As a new jumper how would you know servicable from un-servicalbe? They do a great job training and are the friendliest group of folks. However the gear needed to be replaced years ago The poster states that they're still using round reserves! Didn't USPA change the BSR's over 30 years ago to require Ram Air reserves for students?
  9. This is a dz stuck in the 60's. The main canopies are so old and worn you can see daylight through the fabric. Snapped A lines are not uncommon. This is a USPA GM dropzone!
  10. Until the Army SF's built there own tunnel they were using the one at Wright Pat.
  11. As a student I'd stay away from Pegasus. Worn out gear, outdated training methods and power lines. Go to Cushing and stay there until you get an A license and then go to Pegasus. The best people are there with a family feeling.
  12. Demo a Firebolt main from Jump Shack. You'll be pleasently surprised!
  13. It probably would depending on the impact force. I wear glasses and have a big nose as well and never had a problem getting them both under the visor of a FREEZR helmet with plenty of room to spare!
  14. Totally unfamiliar with her reserve. Most manufactures do have demos of the reserves they manufacture. While not cool, putting a jump or two on the type of reserve you own will make a difference in the long run.
  15. Try Bev Suits. I've had nothing but great service from her. BTW a link to a fitness club is not what he requested.
  16. Thanks for the info. I called thier tech center and they didn't know
  17. Does anyone know if the Cannon Elura 100 comes with a LANC port?
  18. That sure brings back memories. I satrted hanging around a dz back in 67 and made my first jump when I turned 16 in 1976. Thanks for posting!!!
  19. I had a Starto Flyer that I had converted. If my memory serves me it was done by a gentleman located in Birmingham Al. I think his name was Ray Hara
  20. Don't do it!!! The colostomy bag will expand with altitude and I'm sure you can guess the rest!
  21. Send the rig to Jump Shack dba Parachute Labs. They're the one that build Racers and have them look it over. There's nothing like the manufacture looking over the rig and can tell exactually if it's airworthy or not.
  22. Does anyone know John Sakal? I'd like to get in touch with him. We both have the same last name and both skydive which is unusual. I was wondering if we were at all related.
