I've put about 75 jumps on my new S2 150. When I first got it, between fighting it in the bag and it's natural habit of hunting, I got a bunch of off heading openings. Now that it is easier to pack and has got some experience opening, it opens on heading most of the time with a few 90s left or right that are not nearly as brisk as they used to be. I don't try and fly it out of the off heading. Instead, deployment is, Pitch, arch and look at the horizon and fly my body until the canopy is open. I noticed a little unintended harness input can add to/cause the off heading opening. I've always liked the way it flew(minus the opening), now I really just like my S2. YMMV 50 donations so far. I don't have the heavy metal x-rays yet. The doc didn't remember, but he thought he put in 6 screws. From the description I gave him of the landing, the amount & location of bruising, he was surprised I didn't break the tib or talus as well. That was just the temporary soft cast put on at ER. It felt fine. It was replaced after the surgery. The next one was a little uncomfortable and they replaced it. This one on now is also a little uncomfortable as well. As long as I don't over do it to make the foot swell, it isn't too bad. The sucker is just heavy to have to haul around. So, yesterday I went to the doc for a little post surgery look see. Doc said every thing looked as expected, but there is a very slight chance I have a skin infection. Got a scritp for antibiotics just in case . I was also able to get a digital copy of my presurgery x-rays. I'll get a copy of the heavy metal x-rays they take when they change to a hard cast, which will happen once the swelling goes down. That should be by Tuesday. It's my first broken bone, (yes, owed) so I didn't realize just how tired you get just moving around. Especially using crutches. I felt pretty good yesterday, but pushed it just a bit too far. The foot swelled up real good last night and hurt like hell. Yes, I'm a wimp. Remarkable just how much an extra Percoset helps.

Dmitri, don't fight it. It will only get worse the more you try to not get pied. Getting pied just means that your fellow jumpers care enough to welcome you into the next level of jump numbers. I just got home from Eloy. Scott, thanks for the photos and the fun flocks. Unfortunately, a botched landing ended my flocking on Saturday morning. I did get 6 in, but hoped to get near 20 jumps during the boogie. I do have a simple broken fib. I'll be going to the othro here at home to get either a screw or just a cast. Being grounded in Eloy with 3 days of beautiful weather, plenty of fellow birds and a new suit that was just wanting to be jumped, and not being able to get in the air due to a bad decision on a landing was almost unbearable. But I was able to walk away from my mistake (after an ambulance ride and with the use of crutches). Two of my friends weren't so lucky. I met a lot of great folks and helped welcome new birds in to the flock. LouDiamond presented a great seminar for us to learn new /improve our skills.
