First and foremost, educate yourself with the facts about any gear you want; then seek out opinions. If you have the money, get new, custom gear. If not, seek a reputable used gear dealer if you're not buying in person. Be sure to try it before you buy it...if they don't let you, then of course you don't want to buy from them (for used gear). My first rig was way too small for me, but it was a great deal so I bought it...big mistake; the MLW was about 4 inches shorter than my new custom rig. I got all the options with mine, other than the cut-in lats. After some research, I decided that they were not so advantageous for someone my size; the general consensus was that they are really beneficial for smaller people. BTW, I am around the same size as you, 5'9" 210 exit weight. My rig is plenty comfy without them, but I never jumped one that had cut-ins to compare to. I recently bought a new Wings. Though I don't have much to compare it to, I love it. I have experienced all the positives that you've read about, they are true. I had one issue that was quickly and painlessly resolved. For me the bottom line was that I couldn't find anything really negative about them and you just can't beat their military discount (at least not that I could find). As far as the brake lines, I had the same issue. An easy fix is to stow extra line before the bottom toggle tab, and pinch the riser sides together to make a gap under the elastic. I had a different issue with my FF handle that was remedied without a problem. By all means give Ankie a call, she/they will fix any problem you have and more with a quickness. that was my first guess, but it's on the outside thigh, seemed a bit misplaced. But I haven't been staring at others's straps so closely. You route the cord through the channel from the inside of the leg pad, tie it off on the tab, then pull it back through the channel, then repeat on the other side. For me, I tend to carry a spare key in my wallet. It helps. You don't always have your wallet outside your truck, but its better then nothing.

So today was an odd day. Three people locked their keys in their cars today at work. That's not the same mount that I've got, although I'm sure it works. I got one from Gath that is like a clear plastic cover that fits nicely around a Dytter on a Gath helmet.
