  1. Would you happen to have any documentation to back that up, or tell me where to find it? My rigger was researching it and found that you couldn't use PD Slinks, and hadn't gotten an answer from Aerodyne yet. Thanks. _________________________________________ "If a vegetarian eats vegetables, what does a humanitarian eat?"
  2. PISA was bought out by Aerodyne, right? Are their soft links approved for use on a Tempo reserve? I know, I know; call them and ask...that's the next step, but its early. _________________________________________ "If a vegetarian eats vegetables, what does a humanitarian eat?"
  3. I have one without the visor. I have no reason not to like it yet, but it hasn't been put to the test either. I will tell you this though, it didn't seen to help much last time I got kicked in the face...go figure, huh. On a past post on Gaths, one guy mentioned that in the event that your helmet gets snagged on something rigid, the gath plastic will tear before your head gets torn off, and that wouldn't be the case with a carbon fiber type helmet. Someone else mentioned that the visor wasn't too good for much other than head down. Hope this helps. Do a search, but you'll find differing and biased opinions as usual. Just pick the ones you agree with. They do make a nice external mount audible cover though. _________________________________________ "If a vegetarian eats vegetables, what does a humanitarian eat?"
  4. Can't see the pic, but do you mean it's attached backwards, or, it's flying backwards? The canopy is attached backwards, the people are therefore flying backwards. They are looking straight ahead and seeing the PC. _________________________________________ "If a vegetarian eats vegetables, what does a humanitarian eat?"
  5. In this months issue, there is a section with some pics of some Mr.Bill CRW jumps. Can someone tell me why, in the pic on the far right, is the canopy attached and flying backwards? Thanks _________________________________________ "If a vegetarian eats vegetables, what does a humanitarian eat?"
  6. I don't know if it will help, but Gath makes a nice Dyter cover for external mounting. Its hard plastic that attaches to your helmet, I'm sure you could modify it as needed. You can find them at ParaGear, I think. _________________________________________ "If a vegetarian eats vegetables, what does a humanitarian eat?"
  7. Or just try here- [url]http://www.paragear.com/templates/parachutes.asp?group=4&level=1 _________________________________________ "If a vegetarian eats vegetables, what does a humanitarian eat?"
  8. And Gath makes a clear plastic audible holder that mounts easily to the outside with two drilled holes. A ProTrack or Dyter fits perfectly. I don't remember where I found mine, I don't think its on their website, but if you search you'll find it. _________________________________________ "If a vegetarian eats vegetables, what does a humanitarian eat?"
  9. Well it hasn't failed me yet (knocking on wood). But then it hasn't proven itself either. I dunno, I guess it serves its purpose like just about any other skydiving helmet, it holds an audible and prevents little dings to the skull. It was my first helmet, and it cost $80. So, do I like it? Sure, but just because I have no reason not to. _________________________________________ "If a vegetarian eats vegetables, what does a humanitarian eat?"
  10. I have one. That's all I have to say about it, though. _________________________________________ "If a vegetarian eats vegetables, what does a humanitarian eat?"
  11. Louisa is closed this weekend due to aircraft maintenance, and this is my only free weekend for the rest of the month. So what's Orange like this time of year; or more specifically this weekend? _________________________________________ "If a vegetarian eats vegetables, what does a humanitarian eat?"
  12. Throughout my short jumping career, I had about a 2 year lull after 40 jumps for various reasons. After the first four month or so, I got my shit together, went down to the nearest DZ (which was a new one for me as I had moved) and got some recurrency training and did a couple jumps. Good stuff, I'm back. I did a couple jumps a month or so later, and then a year went by. Went back to the dz, and had a bad experience trying to get training. As it happened, the was a boogie going on and an AFFI course. So they used me as a guinea pig for the AFFI students to train...no big deal, right? Well it ended up taking a lot longer than I expected and I didn't get near the attention I should have for recurrency training purposes. Amongst a few other issues, I felt as though I was really getting ripped off. After that, I was fed-up and didn't want to go back to that place and still had my own issues that I was trying to handle differently to allow for jumping time, so another 8 months went by. Then a new song came out that was on the radio every day that mentioned skydiving; so it put it back into my head all the time just like when I first started. The passion was back. Then I moved again, found a great dz, got some great training, and have been regular since. The many times I was in the air after a long time, my biggest fear was fucking up and putting someone else in harms way. I was confident in taking care of myself, but I was very nervous about hurting someone else. Even though all necessary measures were taken to ensure that didn't happen, I worried. Bottom line: If you want it bad enough, nothing will stand in your way. _________________________________________ "If a vegetarian eats vegetables, what does a humanitarian eat?"
  13. I don't remember where, but no too long ago I noticed a knife rigged with a 12-16 inch wood handle mounted next to the pilot's seat of a Cessna. I thought of that bootie thing I saw on TV a few years ago, and it was comforting to see the knife available. _________________________________________ "If a vegetarian eats vegetables, what does a humanitarian eat?"

Nice looking rig, though. _________________________________________ "If a vegetarian eats vegetables, what does a humanitarian eat?"

  18. I saw it too. This one was a little too close to home here, I'd say these guys got off easy. I would really have liked to have been there when they came strolling in the house. Damn, did you see the look on the face of that bald doctor in the spandex when the "boy" said he was going to get changed. Christ, he didn't waste a second to chase after him licking his chops. Sick SOBs, I'd love just a few minutes alone with all of 'em. _________________________________________ "If a vegetarian eats vegetables, what does a humanitarian eat?"
  19. The guys huh? I'd have to politely ask which sex get "comfortable" more often once the secure feeling sets in? _________________________________________ "If a vegetarian eats vegetables, what does a humanitarian eat?"
  20. Gath hat...and I don't remember why. _________________________________________ "If a vegetarian eats vegetables, what does a humanitarian eat?"
  21. Damn dude...is it raining where you are? _________________________________________ "If a vegetarian eats vegetables, what does a humanitarian eat?"
  22. Speaking of which...I don't mean to hijack or anything, but...how about the "word" wuffo? That's friggin asinine. The supposed derivation of the word is even more ridiculous. I'm gonna search first, but I think this deserves its own post. _________________________________________ "If a vegetarian eats vegetables, what does a humanitarian eat?"
  23. It depends entirely on who I'm talking to. Military speak=chute Skydiver speak=canopy Everyone else= whatever I think will get the point across the easiest. (I never pick the right term first though, it usually always takes some explaining) _________________________________________ "If a vegetarian eats vegetables, what does a humanitarian eat?"
  24. Ok, good. I was beginning to think I was the only one who had a shred of wonder about this one. Now I've studied a little thermodynamics before, and I know that the slightest change in temp can have huge affects on lots of things. But how does it apply to us under canopy; especially when it comes to the size and performance decisions of a couple newbies. Alright canopy guys out there, could you offer a little input, please? _________________________________________ "If a vegetarian eats vegetables, what does a humanitarian eat?"
