  1. Since we have an Islamic president, the palace guards will be patterned after the Iranian Basifi militia. The Basiji is an armed, "volunteer", paramilitary force dedicated to protecting the Islamic regime from all threats "foreign and domestic". 2. Strawman much? Try very hard to understand THIS statement: Link to the post where I have said that Obama's plan would cover illegal immigrants. Incredible that people would swallow another lie. A couple of months ago the emperor was holding secret meetings on immigration "reform" which no doubt included heathcare for illegals. Bush himself, left the White House sad that he could not grant amnesty. The President of the United States, whether a democrat or republician, can be a lying sack of shit if it benefits his agenda. 3. I'm willing to look forward, but you're unwilling to look back. Care to discuss how we got here? Have a problem cutting the military, probably in half for starters? That is where the origin lies. Spent money on what? Let's not dissect Bush's work, let's get a better understanding of his term by looking at the totality of it since it's finished. - Received a very good economy - Cut taxes sharply right off the bat - Became engage in a war that has cost 1T to date and was entered on cherry-picked intelligence - Experienced some of the worst inflation in history - Ended up leaving a borderline depression - And finally, the debt grew 5 trillion, almost doubling the 5.5T he inherited Is that a fair assessment? If we pick and prod we can find microcosms with which we can excuse him, I choose to look atthe whole picture and I think I have detailed it. Yea, he inherited an 11.5T debt, we're done with billions. We were talking billions with Reagan, he fixed that. As for grandchildren, we've been on that system since the country was founded, how is that new? The use of that term is become cliche and patently false since the debt will never be paid back. Yep, so give him a chance. So what do you think, shall we cut the military in half so we can relieve the debt? People seem to ignore that it was Clinton that passed on the failure of Freedie Mac and Fannie Mae to the Bush administration. It was the Bush administration that warned of their coming failure. Barney Frank is again pressuring the administration to start again giving loans to people who cannot pay them back so his friends will double their executive bailout. In your wildest dreams, do you really think BHO has a handle on the deficit and government entitlement programs? Do you think he will ever bring home the troops? No chance. I believe he is afraid of them. Bush was a terrible president who would have sold our national parks to balance the budget, but your guy is worse, and people with no political allegiance are speaking out. 8. I am not taking sides on this one, the cops response was excessive, but the soldiers should have shown more respect. i'm sure he was well aware that it was ramadan, this is a sacred time for islamics and if someone came through you church service cahnting 'allah is great' you would probably be pissed off too. To be disrespecting in an country you are supposed to be working with is pretty darn stupid, not repecting ramadan in afghanistan is stupid, so the soldier was stupid. He deserved to be punished but being shot is a bit excessive. Nonsense. Punshed because of what??? Last week, I've had a meeting with a customer (I'm a banker), a good client from Turkey. We sat there for about 3 hrs, debating about some significant amounts to be invested. Suddenly, the senior jumped up and left the room. He did not come back. Instead, his son took over his role, explaining that his father and himself did not *eat and drink* since 04.00 hrs in the morning. This day, we had about 31°C at 11.00 am. Only at about 08.00 pm, they'd be allowed to open a water bottle or eat. OK. That's not my religion, not my decision. They offered me water/coffee/tea. To shoot a stranger b/c of Ramadan is way over the top. Even in a that country. In the UAE, I remember most eating establishments that were frequented by westerners, had curtains to close during ramaden. Locals with wealth, headed for London and drank scotch on the plane or changed into western attire to include mini skirts (for the women of course). Kind of like meeting a Baptist in a liquor store back in Arkansas. Do your part for global warming: ban beans and hold all popcorn farts.

  10. You should read this. www.examiner.com/x-6572-NY-Obama-Administration-Examiner~y2009m9d12-The-hypocrisy-of-tea-party-conservatives It's not about the past. It's about the present and how much of the taxpayers' money BHO is giving away. Seems like he has given away more than the sum total of all president's before him. When you can't think of anyone to blame but Bush, suck on your thumb and maybe he will go away. It's not about Bush for you, you are looking at this mess as a microcosm that just occurred. Remember, the quarter Obama took office was the 4th out of the last 5 quarters of neg GDP growth, the first full quarter Obama presided over, the 2nd quarter of 09, the growth was -1.0 from -6.4 the previous quarter. So that is a drastic improvement, but let's be fair and objective, without Obama's stimulus, much of what was started in the Bush era, was neccessary to beat this mess. No, you must be thinking of Bush, he inherited a debt from 1776 to 2001 that totalled 5.5T, he tacked on another 5T, so you are thinking of GWB when you think of presidents that gave away as much as all of the presidents before him. And the crazy thing is that GWB inherited a pretty good economy versus Clinton and Obama inheriting a total mess. Nah, you have to look at the "projedted" deficit. Sure, Bush had a mini-auto bailout, and he spent some money after 9-11, but look at his replacement a little closer, and pay attention to the use of "trillions" and the term, "our grandchildren will pay for this". One more thing, your guy has not been in office a year. Do your part for global warming: ban beans and hold all popcorn farts.

  12. *** Preventing anyone from buying insurance with their own money for ideological reasons(as mnealtx and rushmc want to do) just transfers the burden onto the rest of us. I WANT everyone, including illegal aliens driving cars, to be insured at their own expense, so I don't have to pay additional premiums for uninsured motorists coverage. I WANT them to buy health insurance (at their own expense), as a pool of millions of unhealthy people is bad for all of us. If our dear leaders were serious, there would be no opportunity for anyone here illegally to be driving period. There would be no sanctuary cities, and nothing to stop local law enforcement from arresting anyone here illegally. If crimes were committed, justice would would be served before they were deported including those who received a death sentence [they get to go home DRT (dead right there)]. Sure, the public would be greatful if they had liability and health insurance, but anyone knowingly selling illegal aliens insurance should be subject to a fine and prision or both. There has to be a point where things are so uncomfortable, the illegals will head south voluntarily; kind of like President Eisenhower's "Operation Wetback". 15. Virtually every conservative who has posted on this topic advocates summary execution. What's up with you guys? Are you really such a bloodthirsty bunch? Is that the limit of your imagination, just kill kill kill? Is that how you would deal with a problem neighbour? Don I'm afraid I don't remember any conservatives advocating summary executions. "Shoot, shovel, and shutup" is a term I have heard locals use for the "wolf problem", and I carelessly applied it to illegal immigration; my apologies. Thankfully, at the moment, I have no neighbors to shoot. The rest of my statement still stands. Do your part for global warming: ban beans and hold all popcorn farts.
  16. Maybe I can help. No immigration reform without DEPORTATION with the use of local, county, state, and federal law enforcement, to include the Army National Guard and a couple of armored cav regiments. Shoot, shovel, and shutup would be their motto. Do your part for global warming: ban beans and hold all popcorn farts.

  22. From the Washington Post.. Read the last paragraph. They neither deny or remain silent, they want "compromise"?" Compromise from the left: "Shut-the-fuck-up". quote]By Ben Pershing The partisan debate over health-care reform has trickled down into one of the more arcane corners of the House -- the committee on free mail, otherwise known as the Franking Commission. One of the perks of being a member of Congress is that each lawmaker is allowed to send "franked" -- or free -- mail, as long as it is related to official business. Members use that ability to send newsletters and legislative updates to their constituents. To ensure that privilege is not used inappropriately, a majority of the bipartisan six-member Franking Commission must approve each piece to ensure it meets some basic guidelines. Mail is blocked only on rare occasions. But now the commission has gotten involved in the health-care fight, prohibiting several Republican lawmakers from mailing out reproductions of a colorful, labyrinthine chart that purports to diagram Democrats' reform plan. The controversy was first reported by Roll Call. The chart was produced by the Republican staff of the Joint Economic Committee and has become a popular visual aide on the minority side of the aisle, as the GOP attempts to convince the public that the majority's plan will be a confusing disaster. But Democrats have argued that the chart is an inaccurate representation of their health-care efforts, and for that reason, the three Democrats on the Franking Commission say the GOP can't use it in official mail. House guidelines say that in franked mail, "Comments critical of policy or legislation should not be partisan, politicized or personalized." But what about information that's inaccurate, or -- arguably -- just misleading? "We have never before censored anybody's presentation of facts this way," Rep. Dan Lungren (R-Calif.) complained in an interview Friday. Lungren, the top Republican on both the Franking Commission and the House Administration Committee, said the commission has never traditionally played a fact-checking role. He pointed out that Democrats this year have sent out numerous pieces of franked mail touting the number of jobs created by the economic stimulus package, and while Republicans might disagree with those numbers, they've never moved to block the mail from being sent out. "We let those things go by, even though we don't think it's true," Lungren said, adding that he knows of at least 15 Republicans who have asked to mail out copies of the health-care chart in question. (For some context, Rep. Kevin Brady (R-Texas) explains the chart's purpose here. Ezra Klein mocked the chart here, and includes a chart of Republicans' own health-care "plan." ) The controversy extends beyond the colorful chart. Salley Collins, a spokeswoman for House Administration panel Republicans, said GOP members were also being told by the Franking Commission that they could not refer to "government-run health care" in their mailings, and had to dub it "the public option" instead. Democrats, led by Franking Commission Chairwoman Susan Davis (Calif.), say they are trying in good faith to negotiate a compromise with Republicans on this subject. If the impasse isn't resolved, watch for the GOP to turn up the volume on the controversy next week. Do your part for global warming: ban beans and hold all popcorn farts.

  24. Is this borderline chicken shit or what? ...........*** 'Frank' Democrats censor GOP mail Jim Brown - OneNewsNow - 8/25/2009 8:00:00 AM An Arizona congressman says liberals on the "Franking Commission" have deliberately tried to censor mail that conservative Republican House members are attempting to send out to their constituents. Democrats on the bipartisan Commission on Congressional Mailing Standards have been blocking Republicans from sending out franked mailings to constituents that refer to the cap-and-trade bill as "cap and tax," the stimulus bill as the "so-called stimulus," and the healthcare reform bill as "socialized medicine." Representative Trent Franks (R-Arizona) says the Franking Commission even told him to stop using the phrase "Democratic majority" in his newsletters, and to use "majority" instead. "For instance, I can say 'the Speaker,' but I can't say 'Speaker Pelosi' because that's too inflammatory. Well, you know, I understand their problem -- they don't want people to really identify the Democratic Party with Nancy Pelosi," he notes. "But the point is, we are forced to change our vernacular and how we say things in order to comport with their attitudes and their way of believing [how] we should say it." Another Republican member of the House, John Carter of Texas, told Human Events last month the Franking Commission informed him he could not say: "House Democrats unveiled a government-run healthcare plan" -- but instead must use: "The House majority unveiled a public option healthcare plan." That, stated Carter, is "Pelosi-speak." According to Franks, an honest and open debate would put Democrats' agenda "in dire straits." "Ironically, we found franked mail sent from Nancy Pelosi that has exactly the same phrases in it, only from the Democrat side when she was in the minority -- exactly the same that she never was censored for," he adds. "But now that they're in the majority, they're censoring the Republican mail." Franks says for the first time in decades, Republicans have not been able to offer amendments to some of the most critical bills being considered. He points out that Democrats are even trying to create a rule on appropriations bills that would prevent Republicans from offering their amendments.
