So you didn't actually listen to what he said. That figures. He did say there would be a reduction in their use, but in matters of national security, you better duck, buddy. Fox News Quote:[url]"President Obama spoke in unprecedented detail Thursday about the U.S. drone program, as he adamantly defended the controversial strikes as legal and necessary to national security -- while announcing that he was setting new limits on their use". Drones are not going away anytime soon. Do your part for global warming: ban beans and hold all popcorn farts.

Maybe a drone could have prevented this terrible event? Our president loves them. He's gonna bring everyone home and rely on drones...; not the drones working in DHS, US State Department, or the IRS, but the real deal. You Brits better get them drones in the air reel quick. Why did Obama call the fort hood shooting workplace violence?
rickjump1 replied to toolbox's topic in Speakers Corner
I believe that "playing down the Islamic element" in this is a mistake. The war against terrorism is far from over. The enemy has simply brought the battlefield directly to the homeland of we infidels, and the sooner this administration admits this, the better. I believe this simple minded shooter collaborated with the enemy on the internet and became an overnight jihadist. In essence, he betrayed his country and became a enemy participant on the battlefield willfully killing and wounding American soldiers right here on American soil. These deaths and injuries should be treated no less than the result of hostile action. Having received a Purple Heart myself, I see little difference in what happened to these soldiers and me (except I was able to shoot back at the bastards who were trying to kill me). " why it took the administration so long to call the Boston Marathon bombing 'terrorism".....? That's the question every American citizen should be asking themselves. Could it be another internet movie against islam? Do your part for global warming: ban beans and hold all popcorn farts. -

Indeed they will. They will testify at the defendant's trial. If you meant more than that, then I have a generic "foil hat" comment to offer you. Sure, they will testify, but they will get purple hearts because this was not workplace violence. Do your part for global warming: ban beans and hold all popcorn farts. -

Why did Obama call the fort hood shooting workplace violence?

This was no workplace violence just because it happened "at work". There is evidence Hasan was in contact with a member of al qaeda before the attack. Quote: Rep. Thomas Rooney (R-FL), a former prosecutor at the base, told KXAS he and a bipartisan group of lawmakers sent a letter to Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel asking for the casualties incurred in the Fort Hood attack to be reclassified to allow the victims the benefits tied to combat-related injuries. “What happened here is not a case of workplace violence,” Rooney said to the station. “What happened here was an attack on our military by a terrorist element specifically targeting our military, which just so happened to be in the United States of America.” http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2013/05/21/report-fort-hood-shooting-suspect-made-278000-while-in-jail/ Do your part for global warming: ban beans and hold all popcorn farts. -

http://www.city-journal.org/html/10_4_lets_end_housing.html Bill, you have me by the knuts. There is no mention of hoodlums being relocated; just plain old criminals. Quote: In Maryland's Prince George's County, an area of the Washington, D.C., suburbs with a large concentration of middle-class black residents, hundreds of voucher tenants—many of whom come from Washington, since vouchers are portable from one jurisdiction to another—do not pay their utility bills or their required 30 percent share of the rent. "We're very concerned about the program," says Mary Lou McDonough of the Prince George's Housing Authority, which doles out the vouchers. The Authority is concerned about more than non-payment. Unlike most such agencies, it screens its voucher applicants, and it finds that some of the households have criminal records—including, recently, a murder conviction. Every year, the authority boots out 25 or 30 voucher holders for brand-new crimes, usually drug-related. Do your part for global warming: ban beans and hold all popcorn farts.

Maybe I should have gone a little farther than: "There's been some terrible instances in Lakeland, Fl where an established neighborhood became a haven for drug dealers, break ins, and assaults. Houses lost by working individuals came up on the market, and were bought by enterprising individuals who turn around and rent them out to people on welfare; courtesy of the US Government". Hoodlums get to move from the hood into nice neighborhoods, "courtesy of the US Government". Not all hoodlums, but enough to make life miserable for honest homeowners who now have neighborhood watches, and never go anywhere unarmed. Some of the honest homeowners would leave if they could could sell, but most see no way out and are prepared to fight for what they have accumulated through hard work. This is a great opportunity for hoodlums and vagrants to spread "blight" and hold honest people hostage while at the same time making landlords wealthy courtesty of the US Government. Really? Bush owned the Texas Rangers? , I guess I once owned Google. It's refreshing to see someone still defending Bush and all of his days spent at the ranch. ***Bush received a 2% share by investing $606,302, of which $500,000 was a bank loan. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Professional_life_of_George_W._Bush George Bush attended 9 base ball games during his presidency, and George Bush no doubt used his influence for a bank loan and had inside help from the SEC, but George Bush never left his post as Commander-in-Chief, and if anyone was in harms way they could rest assured that help was on the way. There are similarities to what happened in Benghazi to what happened in Mogadishu under Clinton. People asked for additional security measures before the shit hit the fan and were refused. In Mogadishu, a request for light armored vehicles was refused, and people died for it. I don't particularly like Bush, but he would not purposefully abandon troops or members of our foreign service. He had what Clinton and Obama lack: respect for those who put their lives on the line for their country. The umbrella thing... If barrybarack wasn't on vacation, maybe he was doing what he does better than than anything else (when he's not lying to the public, of course)...maybe he was campaigning. I guess he must have been napping during his presidential orientation when they covered the USMC umbrella protocol. ......or on vacation. Don't ever let reality get in the way of your beliefs. http://politic365.com/2012/05/08/obamas-vacations-of-any-president-bush-racked-up-the-most/ It's more about timing and public perception (this is the president who went to bed the night of 9-11, not knowing the status of a US Ambassador and went off campaigning the next afternoon). http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Journalism/2013/04/01/Obamas-Enjoy-Vacation-Lifestyle-of-the-One-Percent Quote: In a Sunday Washington Times column, Drudge Report editor Joseph Curl takes a look at the difference between how the last two White House occupants, President Bush and President Obama, approached vacationing as president. Curl reveals that unlike Obama, Bush was concerned with public perception (especially during the war in Iraq) and made an effort to schedule holiday vacations in a way that wouldn't take others away from their families -- even a media that despised him: “I think playing golf during a war just sends the wrong signal,” [President George W. Bush] said years later. “I don’t want some mom whose son may have recently died to see the commander in chief playing golf. I feel I owe it to the families to be in solidarity as best as I can with them.” That’s also why Mr. Bush did two other things, without fanfare or praise. First, he never headed home to his Texas ranch until after Christmas, instead going to Camp David for a few days. That way, the hundreds of people revolving around him at all times — White House staff, Secret Service agents, reporters, photographers, all the others — could spend the holiday with their families in and around Washington, D.C. No one ever reported that — until this column. Second, he rarely attended sporting events, although he once owned a baseball team and was a self-confessed stats junkie. His thinking there was the same: If he went to a baseball game (right down the street from the White House), his mere presence would mean hours and hours of extra security for fans. Conversely, Obama, who never has to worry about the media turning against him (including lying for weeks about a terror attack in Libya), doesn't give a damn about public perception -- not during a recession; not even during a time when sequester cuts are being blamed for the closing of White House tours and airport control towers: How else to explain the nonstop vacations the pair keep taking during what Mr. Obama calls the “worst financial crisis since the Great Depression”? In 2013, the First Family has already enjoyed three vacations — that’s one a month. (Sorry, Joe America, you might have to forget your week at the beach again this year, but make sure you get those taxes in on time!) Curl closes the piece (which you will want to read in full) by making the point about how much this juxtaposition tells you about Obama. And indeed it does. But I would add that it also reveals just as much about our media Do your part for global warming: ban beans and hold all popcorn farts.

How do you carry a shotgun concealed? Sawed-off and under a trench coat. Naturally, you see many law-abiding citizens doing this. I was thinking of my early 1100 Remington with an aftermarket 29 in. + barrel. Concealment would be difficult, and besides, that barrel is too pretty to saw off Do your part for global warming: ban beans and hold all popcorn farts.

How to become a bad apple? Carry in a bar (in my state). Even if you saved a life or prevented a crime (where alcohol was served), you "could" be toast. Bus drivers have lost their jobs because they carried and prevented crimes while on the job because carrying on the job was against company regulations. These are real bad apples? Absolutely! I hope they go after those right wing fringe groups and wipe them off the face of the, um, tax free status. After that is done, they can then go after the left wing fringe groups and wipe them out too. Then they can to after religious groups, government contractors, charities, and everyone else. Eliminate all tax free status for everybody. Nobody gets a free ride. Why not go after the National Treasury Employees Union too.. 150,000 employees in 31 government agencies, including, the IRS. Of course they endorsed obama.http://spectator.org/archives/2013/05/16/the-liberal-union-behind-the-i Do your part for global warming: ban beans and hold all popcorn farts.

That was a hell of a story! Strange assertion that 'This has to be the only combat use of biplanes since the 1930's', though. I can think of several examples from the early 1940's and I wouldn't be surprised if there are more recent ones.Maybe "bed check charlie" ; if they ever shot him down. On second thought I forgot that there were indeed biplanes used in WWII that were shot down. Do your part for global warming: ban beans and hold all popcorn farts.
