if J. Medicinehat ever comes to your area- catch him. His shows are a riot, altho I've only been to three of his R rated shows- all of his shows are adult shows and on Monday nights at the funny bone in Omaha he has an X rated version. About as bad as his R shows get is someone playing an inflatable penis as guitar or when the tempeture rises people take of a layer of clothing... Edited to say- he makes it very clear that you're coming on stage of your own free will and he is going to make you do stupid stuff, we will laugh at you and there will be pictures. If you can't handle that- then don't come on stage. All hypnotists should (and probably do at least try to) make that clear- and if you get on stage, don't expect anyone to feel sorry for you when you do something stupid and make an ass out of yourself. Medicinehat is a rehabed drug addict. He smokes and drinks his fair share. He's spent some time in lock up and wears his harley leather proudly, working that all into the show. Trust me this guy doesn't sound like the real deal and if you catch Medicinehat's show you won't walk away disappointed in the hypnotism.

Makes me think of the blister sister at couchfreaks that carries around the pail of fruit. She's always such a nice way to start a good drunk...

I'll take a step back here and qualify my united statement. On my way to Birmingham, I left Lincoln fine, then spent 4 hours in chicago listening to them and their excuses why our plane wasn't there, on it's way over to our gate, ect. They didn't want us to leave the gate area because it might be just 5 more minutes... yada yada... I finally got to Birmingham at 3am. On my way out of birmingham, we start to board the plane at 5:45am, pulled the gate away when the piliot asks for 5 more minutes to check the windsheild. 5 becomes 10 and then becomes 15. He then asks us to unboard the plane just so we'll be comfortable. Two hours later, come to find out a mechanic is just now heading over and they're canceling the flight. Fine-I take off in a mad dash to get to the front ticketing to be rerouted from birmingham to memphis to st. louis to lincoln. There's a carrier change and the guy at united couldn't get me boarding passes all the way thru to lincoln but can get my luggage there. I had a half hour to get from one terminal, thru ticketing, security and down to gate 38. I got to the gate as they were calling my name for the last time. I finally got home at 5pm, instead of the noon I was booked for. I"m all about getting on a safe plane- I prefer it that way, but aren't these checks supposed to be done before people get on the plane? Why did they wait two hours to cancel the flight when the mechanic wasn't showing up? Why did they not just cancel the flight out of chicago when they didn't have an available plane? Sure I got home, but traveling with United is an inconvienence I would care not to repeat. It's not personal...

Chris- What went wrong was I booked a ticket on United. Seriously tho- something about a windsheild defroster thing. They tried to get it fixed but after 2 hours they canceled the flight, throwing their hands in the air and staranding me in bfe.

No I don't remember the video so it'd be nice to see it myself first...

You're so very welcome- altho I wish we could have had some on a plane! I finally got home yesterday at about 6pm. After waiting at the airport from 1am to 6am for my flight it was canceled at about 8am, making me miss all flights that could have got me to chicago on time to catch my connecting flight- instead they routed me to memphis, then to STL, then to lincoln. It was a huge fiasco and I will NEVER fly united again- nor do I suggest anyone else do such a thing either. I just wanted to get home, and if it wasn't for the nice lady at American getting me a boarding pass w/o standing in line w/ litterally a hundred other people, or while being personally scanned and the security knowing what a sport rig was I would have never caught my flight to finally get me home. I got to gate 38 way at the end of the terminal just as they were calling my name for the last time. I loved the people at the gold coast- they went out of their way to get everything straighted out for us after our bus broke down (THANK YOU!!!), but the weather sucked and air transportation to and from there is a huge hassle- or at least was for me. I doubt I'll be back but I hope to see each of you at other boogies- dont' forget couchfreaks! I've got quite a few pics and as soon as I recover a little more I'll be sure to post them.

That sounds right. Now who's buying??? Guys???

wasn't a side trip to bourbon street implied with this whole boogie?!? I hear there's a place over there with the "world's strongest drink"- some 32oz. thing- it laid out two of my friends after just one round this last weekend.

tarps?!? for slip 'n slide???

Just make sure the weather stays nice till I get there! We've had about 8 inches of snow over the last week and everything is frozen. I haven't had a jump in what seems like months... If the weather sucks, I just don't know what I'll do...

You ought to step away from whatever you're taking buddy. bring on the beads: 16 DAYS and COUNTING!!!

We don't have many beaches here in the midwest so all you need is a C to jump at the beach? I've long since had everything done for my D, I've just been procrastinating on taking the test. If all you need is a C, then I'll procrastinate a bit longer...

I didn't have a cypress for my first hundred or so jumps off student status. Then one day while on the way to plane a friend mentions that another jumper is selling her virtually brand new one cheap. You can guess what happened on that jump- I couldn't find my handle and had to go for my reserve. Needless to say I gave her the first payment for that cypress that day. I was and am completely comfortable with my emergency procedures but I have a child I need to come home at the end of the day. I am simply more comfortable having one on my back. I can completely understand why people "freak out" about not having one, whether or not some of us consciously rationalized that we've created a "security blanket" in it- we have. It does not mean we are any less comfortable with our procedures... But back to the subject of the thread- half the time I don't have the "touch" it requires to get the darned thing turned off. I can turn it on without problem- turning it off is another story.

I'll be there early on the 6th, staying thru the weekend. I'm coming all the way from Nebraska, so I'm looking forward to the "hot, muggy" weather down south, not to mention so many other things this boogie has in store. 52 days and counting down...

I got started after spending a couple weekends out at the dz with my brother. Thought I'd just do a tandem and never get in a small plane again but something bites you in the backside at about 10k... and when I thought I'd quit, he'd keep me going.

I distinctly remember the girl from #6- she did "weird" things with beer bottles, was underage and worse of all was a WUFFO!!!
