I thought the dark side referred to the MS Windows world, although I have also heard "Dark Side" used to refer to Pink Floyd's best selling album. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!

Cali Gay Marriage Opinion to be Released Today
jcd11235 replied to lawrocket's topic in Speakers Corner
Correct. Nor have I ever claimed otherwise. Of course, we aren't discussing how people believe relative to me. We are talking about people who voted for an amendment to enshrine discrimination in their state constitution. That being the case, there seems to be a strong correlation between the supporters of Prop 8 (or similar amendments nationwide) and bigotry. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! Since I can't reconcile with reality your interpretation of events clearly shown on video, there's no reason to discuss the topic any further with you. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!

This isn't like the Rodney King video. The video we saw shows the police chase through the assault by the cop. It didn't simply take a few seconds of video out of context. Sure, uh huh. If you think so. His personal safety was not at risk, a fact all of the apologists seem to ignore. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!

I strongly disagree. Your proposal sounds like the same "separate, but equal" nonsense previously promoted by racial bigots. If marriage is a religious institution, then the government has no business recognizing any marriage. If it's a legal institution, then the religious zealots have no business telling others what marriage is or isn't. Bigot Just because someone voted for Prop 8 does not automatically make them a bigot I think there's a very strong correlation. Bigotry under the guise of religious beliefs is still bigotry and still wrong. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials! -

While I'm not opposed to such interstate recognition, I'm not sure that it "follows" as you claim it does. For example, if a concealed carry license specifies that the permit holder is authorized to carry a concealed weapon within a particular state, then outside of that state there would be no authorization, in much the same manner that a state fishing permit only authorizes the holder to fish within a particular state. Marriage is not limited to such restrictions. If a couple is married in Kansas and subsequently moves to Texas, they do not need to be remarried. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! Suppose a same sex couple who were legally married in one state subsequently moved to another state that does not recognize same sex marriages. If that state did not recognize their marriage as valid, it would appear to be a violation of Article IV, Section 1 of the Constitution: "Full Faith and Credit shall be given in each State to the public Acts, Records, and judicial Proceedings of every other State. And the Congress may by general Laws prescribe the Manner in which such Acts, Records and Proceedings shall be proved, and the Effect thereof." Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! There are also sufficient loopholes to allow some of the worst offenders to get around such laws. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!

It is indeed unfortunate when bigotry is deemed constitutional in any state. I'm wondering how long it will be before discrimination against same sex couples is challenged as unConstitutional in federal courts. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials! -
If you watch the video, you'll clearly see such an action on the part of the suspect would be impossible given his face down, arms & legs spread position. I'm always amazed at the number of people who reflexively defend bad cops. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!

Laying face down on the ground with legs spread and hands visible is hardly "poking the dog." If a cop cannot remain level headed in a high stress situation, (s)he should find an alternative career. I have zero sympathy for cops who think they are above the law and that rules don't apply to them. It is not their job to pass judgement on suspected criminals. Math tutoring available. If it's any consolation, the South doesn't have any decent barbecue, either. They don't even use proper BBQ sauce here in florida; they use some colored vinegar, instead. As a rule of thumb, consumers can save money by switching auto insurance companies. Most companies tend to offer slightly discounted premiums to new customers (to their company, not to auto insurance in general) than to renewing customers, all else equal. There is a similar rule of thumb for renewing term life insurance, although it is better justified. Since switching companies typically requires a new medical examination (which is typically not required for policy holders who renew), insurance companies assume renewing customers tried to switch companies, but the results of their medical exam did not justify lower rates. In other words, they assume only higher risk customers renew their term life policies, and that lower risk customers go elsewhere, since a fresher medical examination (of a healthy individual) can justify lower premiums than a medical exam that is 10-20 years or more old.
