Straighten those legs out! "I promise, I will never die."

Funny, I drive and walk though Chicago every day (and have done for 30 years) and never needed a gun. Nor do I ever expect to. Must be sad to go through life so fearful of being attacked as you seem to be. bad guys will ONLY be able to get guns as long as people like you are their enablers. It must be sad to be so fearful of a malfunction that you carry a reserve.... It must be sad to be so fearful of a crash that you wear a seatbelt... It must be sad to be so fearful of a fire that you keep a fire extinguisher... Preparation != fear. Your "fear" argument is nothing but a strawman, as you well know. Thats a weak rebuttle. A reserve, a fire extinguisher and a seat belt are not designed to kill. A gun is. You are comparing apples to mangos. I disagree. A gun is made to safe lives. Specifically, MINE! I won't be a victim. Those of you that are happy being sheep, good on ya! But don't tell me I can't defend myself and my household by any means possible. I will always have guns. I will get them legally, or illegally if need be. People that think more regulations will work need to get their heads out of their ass. "I promise, I will never die."
-
Finally, good citizens will be able to defend themselves and families legally. I still keep my gun on me going through Chicago. If I ever have to use it, my life depends on it. I don't care if the Chicago popo take me to jail. I'm sick of these news articles "We are a city of sheep, we're proud to be sheep, we will stay sheep." Sure didn't lower the crime in DC. BTW, BAD GUYS WILL ALWAYS BE ABLE TO GET GUNS. "I promise, I will never die."

I feel your pain. The only part of my civilian job that I hate is the first and last days of my trips when I have to airline. "I promise, I will never die."

The down side to that it is a short fix. With hiring mins at the regionals being so low, that young pilot won't be there very long. They will be able to count on you. "I promise, I will never die."

Thanks, guys! "I promise, I will never die."

Hopefully, he has the right transponder setting when he gets to Denver. Otherwise, NORAD might have me go up and say "Hi!". BTW, I'm sitting F-16 Alert at Buckley AFB. Hope everyone has a Merry Christmas. "I promise, I will never die."

Funny thing is the right seat actually has the highest work load. SIC- Radios, Checklists, Avionics, Configuration, etc., etc. PIC- Taxi, Takeoff, Land, Push Autopilot and Monitor At Netjets, we swap seats every other flight. Flying left seat is way easier (As long as the SIC is getting all his shit done). "I promise, I will never die."

Personally, I hate flying jumpers, even though I'll take a load up if my DZ REALLY needs a pilot. That's why I got my tandem rating. $30 a load compared to $8-$10, no brainer. Also, flying jumpers is NEVER going to make you a lot of money. Something to consider if you decide to support a family down the road. Also, If you try to go to another flying job (corporate, cargo, airline) with your otter/jumper time, It is going to be difficult for you. Regardless of how much turbine PIC you will have, you won't have a lot of cross country or IMC experience. Do yourself a favor and leave flying jumpers full-time to older/retired pilots. Not to crush your dreams, bro, but you will thank me later. The fun of flying jumpers DOES wear off. "I promise, I will never die."

MIRAGE G4.1M2 -- Will it hold a Pilot 170?
F16Driver replied to VincentVL.'s topic in Gear and Rigging
I own an M2 and I wouldn't even try putting anything bigger than my Stiletto 150 in it. "I promise, I will never die." -
What you have is MOA-Manifestation of Apprehension. It can be caused by a significant event, or not. How do you feel if you ever have to cutaway? Have you cutaway? Some people work through MOA, some people don't. Saw it quite a bit when I was in pilot training. "I promise, I will never die."

Velos and Xaos aren't good for casual jumping. With your experience/background, could you jump one loaded at 2.0, do a bunch of practice flares up high, and land without killing yourself.......Maybe. The speed at which everything happens on a XB, though, is where you'll get hurt if you're not proficient. If you don't keep current on a high performance canopy, just like a plane, you'll eventually hurt/kill yourself. Just my .02. We're all just trying to keep you safe and in the air. "I promise, I will never die."

Good bye, Bruce. See you on the other side. "I promise, I will never die."

Does being a pilot give you any kind of edge?
F16Driver replied to A1CSpooky's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Welcome to the forum. Being a pilot DEFINITELY helps, like most have said. Guaranteed you will be hooked. I'm curious, where do you work/fly right now? Flight Safety International? BTW, I currently fly a 1965 V-tail Bonanza (Dr killer, but still a great plane) and 1947 Cessna 120. Also, the Citation X and the F-16. "I promise, I will never die." -
Just a pilot's quick post: With IAS (Indicated Air Speed) remaining constant (i.e. under canopy flying straight and level), TAS (True Air Speed), which is the airspeed that we are actually travelling through the volume of air, goes up as you increase altitude. As a result, ground speed will go up (considering no wind) as you increase altitude. Increasing temp has the same affect. As an example on a bigger scale, Flying in the Citation X at 45,000' ish, our indicated airspeed will be approx. 250 kts, but our TAS will be approx. 560 kts (.92 Mach). I will now continue lurking. "I promise, I will never die."

They're from the ACME Co. I think Wily Coyote had one of those in green. "I promise, I will never die."

Tony, I love my new SM1. I ordered the M1 after flying NSEMN8R's M1. Waiting a little bit longer for the SM1 while you did R&D on it was worth the wait. What a smooth flying suit, especially during the deployment phase. For being such a big wing, it is predictable in every phase of flight. I really like the fact that there is no flapping on the leg wing anymore. Keep up the great work. I'll post pics when I get the chance. "I promise, I will never die."

I jumped NSEMN8R's Mach 1, and yes, I WANT ONE!! That thing was way more stable than my Firebird R and It pumped out better numbers. I'm sold on one. I'm not getting rid of the Firebird, though (Once it finally gets back from Birdman for rib repair ) "I promise, I will never die."

Actually, that was at my buddy Tony's house. He had just gotten an S3 that he wanted to show me. He keeps trying to talk me into doing a base jump, too. "I promise, I will never die."

About 4 months. Sorry! They said mine took that long because their new impact tracking system suit was taking up most of their production. I did get a free upgrade to the R, though. Hopefully, yours won't take that long. By the way, I like the colors I picked, so screw you guys!

Here it is! "I promise, I will never die."

Hair Nation!!! "I promise, I will never die."

I was flying a trip with my corporate job and had a couple hours to burn before I had to leave. I walked up to their hangar and, in a matter of minutes, I was on the next load. One of the jumpers even loaned me his rig (Thanks, Lyton, I owe you one!) I will definitely come back here. Great atmosphere! I wish I could of stayed longer.
