Due to injures I got while serving in the military I am allowed to go to the VA.... I found the coverage to be pathetic and the treatment options lacking. I pay for and use private HC and my health is much better. The VA would not allow certain drugs that my private doc could provide, the schedule they had me on was laughed at by the private doc.... My health got much better by going to the private HC. Seeing how the IRS is overpowering and full of regs not even lawyers and accountants totally understand. Seeing how the ATF is full of crosstalk and ignorance. Seeing the US Govt has used citizens for test subjects (Tuskegee syphilis experiment). And seeing how no Govt program has managed to not run into cost overruns and cutbacks. Seeing how Countries that have single payer are having so many problems paying for it..... I have zero faith that the US can run a program that is not full of restrictions, full of red tape, full of cost overruns, full of political BS.

CA has every gun law the anti's want.... Yet it is clear that it didn't work. A sign saying "no guns allowed" will not actually stop a criminal from going into the building with a gun. I am sorry the principal was shot, but glad that the shooter only wanted to kill one person.

If not, then why is this any different than the Govt requiring citizens to buy HC coverage? Would you support other laws that required people to stop smoking? Stop drinking? Eat more vegetables?

Why pass a law that restricts a Constitutional right when nothing has been shown to be a problem? If it becomes a problem, then look at it. How would you feel if I was able to get a few Senators convinced that model rockets and RC planes are dangerous and should be banned, or at the very least regulated to only being allowed to be flown 300 miles from any major possible target? It would be a silly law and most likely do nothing but make your life difficult. So *I* would not bother *unless* it became a problem. In every exchange between us... I ask you a simple question. You automatically go to the PA's every time. The next time, I do the same thing... you go to PA's again. Don't blame me for "returning fire" after you start acting silly.

The solution is not to enlarge the size of the Govt and grant more powers to them. The solution is not to piss on the Constitution and force people to be a part of something they do not want to be a part of. Anymore than the Govt should be able to force you to own a gun to try and reduce crime, or the Govt force you to not smoke or drink, or the govt to force you to eat your vegetables. Would you support the Govt mandating that everyone stop smoking and drinking, no more high risk sports, everyone must drive a volvo, and everyone must eat three servings of dark green veggies a day? If I choose not to have HC, then in a free market I should also be forced to deal with the actions of my choice. If that means I do not get the heart lung transplant... Then I made that choice myself. I should not be allowed to make you pay for it since I didn't want to bother to carry insurance. Insurance is not really that expensive. The majority of people could have some level of HC coverage. They choose not to get any. It kills me to see skydivers with 5k in gear spending 25 dollars a jump and complain about not being able to afford HC coverage. My Wife sells HC coverage. She has approached many jumpers and offered to talk to them about HC coverage. They all say they can't afford it.... Yet they make 10-15 jumps a mth, fly off to play in the tunnel, go to the nationals/boogies... Etc. They spend thousands of dollars a year playing. I like watches.... I collect them (its an addition). I was talking to a guy that had a nice Tag Monaco watch and was complaining about not having HC coverage. Its a freaking 4k watch and he is complaining about not being able to afford HC????? In both cases I pointed out that they could quit jumping or sell the watch and buy HC coverage. They both looked at me like I was stupid. So no.... I don't feel bad when a person who is spending thousands a year on junk and BS complains they do not have HC. Now a person who truly can't afford coverage.... They should have some help. But we already have programs for that. But I see no need to force citizens to do something to allow people who do not have the correct priorities to have everything they want.

And you need to understand that 140k dollars was missing from the accounts and they didn't even notice it. That tells me that if they didn't notice it, that they could spend that money on HC if they choose. Ask the office help if they are 1099. Laurie, Deb, etc.... And ask if they have HC provided by SDC. 2 employees could get HC for less than 140K.

Yes, but the point is all those that support the insurance mandate need to be able to explain why this should not be allowed. It guns being a right means that it should have more to stand on than HC. Personally, I am one of those whacky people that thinks that people should be able to choose things about their own life. So you don't want to own a gun, you should not be forced to buy one. You don't want insurance, you should not be forced to buy that either. Consistency in opinion that the liberals are not showing on this issue.
