yeah i would recommend it. you will meet a bunch of birds there too. If not, there are always a bunch of great WS pilots and BMIs/PFIs in FL (z hills for sure) or in NC year around. All are good people and you are [probably] more likely to learn more from them than from most others. I'd prob say to also pm a few PFIs/BMIs on here to make sure what you may be getting into and to make sure you are ready for it. ..but maybe it's just me that would do that since I like doing a bunch of research on something before I actually get into something.

had is pretty subjective. I and many others would recommend taking a course through a BMI, but ofcourse it isn't necessary.. No i dont suggest you get a suit and go for it yourself, but if there are very experienced WS flyers around or at your dz that have a spare beginner suit then I personally wouldn't see a problem with that.. but it would really depend on the two people (the student and the teacher). They need to be very knowledgeable about flying and be able to translate that info to the student... not everyone is good at that. The skydiving skills of the student is also very important so people could easily come back and say "work on this for the next 30-50 jump and come back". Like everything, it is up to the jumper himself to get safely back on the ground. with that said, if you want to do it right and learn a bunch, get a PFI or BMI to train you - it will be worth the $. Just work it into a skydiving trip over a boogie or something. zflock is around the corner :) Where is my fizzy-lifting drink?

gotta watch out at some restraunts in certain places. Last yr i was in Miami and went out to dinner with a (1) friend. When i got the bill i added tip (on a 80$ bill) and totaled on the customer copy .upon closer look I noticed tip of 16% was added in already! wtf for two people? and made sure to write bill cost in for the total. sucks for them tho, I would have tipped more, but since nothing indicated off hand that it was added until the bill came, they lost a few $.
