i'll be there Where is my fizzy-lifting drink?
-
Anyone know what tents are small and compact and really good for longer backpacking trips? Ideally it should also be - -a 2 or 4 person tent. If it houses 2, i'd still like room for backpacks if possible. -3 season I've search and such, but I have no idea how small most pack up and if they are really any good. each line group has different color tabs. basically helps to quickly identify any misplaced/lost lines. or could help those learning to pack, i suppose. doug - no worries Where is my fizzy-lifting drink?

ah, ok. I was thinking you dont understand how canopies inflate/catch air
-
what is your logic for this? *edit - and to the poster. nothing special needs to be done. just leave the nose or push it in slightly. Where is my fizzy-lifting drink?
-
No, not there!.... your nose! what types are things are good to shove up your nose? I'm thinking fingers, crayons, pencils, scissors (and then opening them), cell phone antennas. what else? Where is my fizzy-lifting drink?

If I am not skydiving I am..... finish the sentence.. should be a bit more factual than that whole going on the trip thing... well maybe Where is my fizzy-lifting drink?

i dont know why you would want to bring those when everyone is going to ditch you on the side of the road.. alone.. maybe to hold drinking water? Where is my fizzy-lifting drink?

looks like you were a bit head low. at least you didn't get hurt great pics Where is my fizzy-lifting drink?

access or expert? Could you at least post what that was shown to be? I know there were a few others and I talking about the expert a few mths ago so it could be useful info. Were the tests based upon a solid flat suit or one where the user could also bend/drop their knees a little? thx scott Where is my fizzy-lifting drink?

sure, but you still need to land by pulling on the toggles Good to hear katie is back in the air Chuck Where is my fizzy-lifting drink?

oh, avery would love to have that PC!. i'm sure its a bit dirtier now from that cesspool [read texas] than it is in the pic. Where is my fizzy-lifting drink?

i'm not going to debate on this. each to their own. It is managable/avoidable if you take care of it before it gets too stretched out - all assuming you pay attention to it. most likey if it does happen it is an easy fix if it doesn't get the main out. closing loops starting to fray or even slightly long loops, among other things, are still 'functioning systems' and can work for 50-100+ jumps before you start having issues.. aren't older used BASE PC's still 'functioning systems'? I'd just choose to replace mine sooner than later. it's all due to the outcome of if it doesnt work. Where is my fizzy-lifting drink?

sure... and kill-lines can shrink, closing loops stretch, etc. All part of gear maintenance. Where is my fizzy-lifting drink?

The first high speed pass at the WFFC, two years ago, there were like 9 ws and I was the first non-ws jumper out. They were trying to exit together and tripped over each other and went rolling out the door. There were two premies, one blown up canopy that resulted in a reserve ride, two or three blown ws's a few stiches. I don't think there was another ws on any other high speed passes that year. BTW, I was wearing a camera and it was a real mess. People were yelling GO! and I was standing in the door pointing and yelling F@#K!!! ha, yeah that was good ole fun. Was that you who came over and offered the vid to us afterwards? This is the vid -. http://www.skydivingmovies.com/ver2/pafiledb.php?action=guestpass&id=fxh0n Where is my fizzy-lifting drink?

well the problem with that pic too is that there is too much space between the PC and the hacky. It needs to be tighter. Where is my fizzy-lifting drink?

I heard that last year at the WFFC wingsuit pilots jumping out of the DC-9 were able to gain alttitude and fly above the tail after exiting. Does anyone know how fast the DC-9 jump runs were? There is info in the wingsuit forum on this, but it was about 150-160kts. Depending on if you stuck it outside the door you can get at or near the tail edge. I dont think anyone flew over above it. WS routinely get above CASAs and skyvans on highspeed exits. although the stunt was flawed in some of the explainations and such, it was meant for the masses, who know nothing. love how the 'classic II' was "experiemental". I gots my Bird-Man Blade! (with obligatory office pic)
Buried replied to Costyn's topic in Wing Suit Flying
Hahaha it's not a painting, it's some silly piece of board with cloth stretched over it. The person who decided over the furnishings in our office had some very outspoken and unusual tastes. Fortunately we'll be moving to another location soon, and I hope things will be somewhat more conventional. -

they couldn't match your painting? then it would seem like you are never out of the office. Where is my fizzy-lifting drink? -
thx scott... Where is my fizzy-lifting drink?

no need to be snide with matt. as mentioned in the first 3 or so posts... no one knows any of this yet. The blade has only been flown by a few people that didn't test it against a vamp. Where is my fizzy-lifting drink?

sheesh you two.. just hug and get it over with. dont agree with that. More wing comes with more responsibility and a different perception of control. I've seen people with 100+ jumps still have trouble getting out of a spin on large and medium suits. Stuff happens, especially on exit. 50 jump instructors do not really exist (in the US) as far as i know. yes, sure there were some a few yrs back, but since it was intergrated with marketing for whichever company [and the dicipline] so it made sense. like much in skydiving, many things evolve quickly.. WS'n is no different. Many of us see a similar point a few more yrs down the line. it is just how we get there that differs. you are seeing a similar comparion of wingsuits to people's first canopy.. and it should not be compared to the more agressive path (we all know the "i jump a 190 now, i'll be ready for the 132 when it arrives"). It should be "i jump a 190 now, il'l get a 170 for my first canopy". there is nothing wrong with that, it's the more smart thing to do. Where is my fizzy-lifting drink?
