I think you have to becareful, as soon as you pull a gun, the offender will feel threatened will be far more likely to shoot someone. In Australia you are only legally allowed to defend yourself, or your spouse and the force must not exceed the perceived threat - any other cases are judged on the circumstances. Firearms are considered lethal force, even a shot in the leg.

I have never seen so many people that agree with each other in the same thread.

Quote 11. Natural -Men wake up as good-looking as they went to bed. -Women somehow deteriorate during the night. reply] Yeah, the do get uglier as the alcohol wears off during the night. -
Was that late last year? I remember going up in the plane and hearing "No one land near the ambulance" Heard someone had broken their leg from a front riser turn.

They do it at subway, comes out ok. Did anyone else see the late night ad for the microwave bags? They cooked roast chickens, bacon - it was all suppose to brown really well....

In Australia there is no APF rule about full face helmets, but my DZ has a local rule - open face until you have a C licence

Thats why the packer that taught me loved psycho packing, once I lay it down I open it up and milk all the lines and check everything is were it should be. Just remember with psycho packing, once you bag it FLIP IT BACK OVER THE SAME WAY! Get into your packing routine and always flip the same way, so you always flip the same way back.

The first jump after AFF is great. No one to impress, just do what you want to do. Take in the view a bit, then pull and fly your canopy around for a while.

Moruya boogie - NSW/Aust - 26Feb/6Mar 2005

Was that on Sunday or Saturday? I was there on Saturday, didn't see Steve there. The cloud cover on Saturday was 1500ft, though some were still keen to do hop and pops. -
I psycho pack, and it is much easier for me than Pro pack. A psycho pack is very similar to a pro pack. I can't tell you if the openings are off heading as I have yet to jump it. The packer that taught me swears by psycho pack and he says his are always on heading.

I was reading a useless trivia book and found under "Dumb Laws" "In Maine, you may not step out of a plane in flight" A quick google search found a few sights also listing the law, such as http://www.bitoffun.com/stupid_laws_Maine.htm Is this another internet myth worthy of http://www.snopes.com or is it a law still on the books? Maybe Skydive New England has some explaining to do....

How do these legal issues effect Team Crater landing a "Mr Bill" at Rantoul (btw, good work on that one)? -
Moruya boogie - NSW/Aust - 26Feb/6Mar 2005
Travman replied to op5e's topic in Events & Places to Jump
Well the total number of jumps for day one was a big fat 0. There was low cloud cover, the base at 1500ft. By about 2 most people had given up and cracked a tinny. Driving back to Canberra there was low cloud until Bungendore, so say about 120km of cloud inland. But blue skies in Canberra (damn what a tease!) I think the cloud will clear up for Monday. -
"One more thing Trebeck... do they make them for men?" Damn celebtrity jeopardy was funny, I think I have all the episodes.

Is it an adjustable harness? Maybe you aren't tightening one side all the way. Or are you putting all your weight on on side of your body? Have your instructors given you any suggestions?

I saw on the doco about the 300way that they had to bring in hundreds of goggles, because visors were fogging up.

I haven't done the beer yet, always have to get back to Canberra before the bar opens! Next time I stay in Sydney I'll put a case on! Looks like I will get down to moruya after all -
Yeah, bankruptcy isn't as simple as it sounds. It will destroy your financial life. Sure you won't have to pay off debts, but good luck getting a loan for anything else.

Yeah I have pretty much the same day as you. I am a network administrator at a school. When I started I had heaps to do, but now I have everything fixed I sit here, read dz.com and my email and scratch myself whenever I get the urge.

As an aussie its funny to see Fosters as a fancy import, I think there is a reason we ship it out of the country. I don't think I have been to a pub in oz that sells it. If you want a good aussie beer, get Tooheys Extra Dry, or one of the tasmanian beers. But Stella Artois is my fav beer atm.

Highest number of jumps prior to FIRST reserve ride?
Travman replied to skydiverek's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I'm working on it.... on 26 so far... -
Yup, we had at least 2 students do this last summer: "The slider did not go back up, so I chopped! And then...and then, the slider on the reserve stayed down too so I had to just ride that in anyway!!" Just a thouht here and not to step on any ones toes would it be possible for the instructors to show the studends a picture of a good canopy and where the slider will end up on good canopy and explain the purpose of the slider. The certainly explained that well at my FJC (with pics), yet one of the instructors did tell me about a student that cutaway because they couldn't get the slider to go back up, and the same "mal" happened on the reserve.
-
Each student is different and the instructors should be able to tell what jokes they can get away with depending on the person. The thing the instructors at my DZ like to say is "We hate to work, if we are up there and we have to start working, it means you are not doing what you're suppose to be doing"

Check out http://www.shemovie.com/she.asp?no=16212 There are 2 really good ones there.

Yeah... but if he is so good, why didn't he swoop the landing?
