  1. I guess I missed getting in on the action for the NCAA. I think the brackets had to be turned in today at 12 does anyone know for sure? One thing's for sure marion not going to win. I wanna see a Carolina vs. Duke final. But I guess Marion would be scared to see that. Since that last Carolina vs. Duke game. (LOL)
  2. Oh my God, this is horrible. Steve was the friendliest face on the whole DZ. I can't even picture him without a smile on his face. As a matter of fact it was about three weeks ago I saw him trip and fall on his knees during a landing as I was walking up the hill. He looked at me with the biggest smile on his face and just laughed out, "ohh well," and never broke stride. Thats just how steve was, a fun loving guy. Many of my most memorable skydives were also with steve he was always positive no matter what, there wasn't a negative bone in his body. I didn't know him very long but it's apparent that he was loved and admired by everyone at the DZ. We will all miss you tremendously steve, you were a great skydiver and an awesome coach. You want be forgotten. -blue skies
  3. Hello all, just wanted to say I had a great time saturday night hangin out by the fire with a bunch of jumpers. It's great to be able to talk about the sport we all love, Here in Asheboro nobody knows what I'm talking about most of the time. All of you are awesome to hang with. I hope I get to come back next week and do it all over again.
  4. It's my right shoulder(of course, My luck), to tell the truth I'm not sure if it's interior or posterior. I ended up not being able to jump last weekend but this week end it's on. I can't help but still be a little nervous. I'm going to the Ortho again today for hopefully my last visit. I haven't received an MR or even a MRI, I intend to ask the Doc about that today. It kind of makes me mad that they haven't offered either to me. But I'm going to get on top of things today.
  5. I recently dislocated my shoulder during freefall I have been out now for 2 months since it happened. I went to 3 weeks of PT and they said i was good to go. still being unsure this paste weekend i got my friend to crank his car up to 140mph and hung myself out the window. Of course this might be more dangerous than jumping out of a plane. Anyway everything went fine and i plan to be at CSS this weekend. wish me luck
  6. I'm not going to lie I am am nervous about the next jump, but I'm confident that I'll come through fine. Next sunday I'll be back at CSS to complete jump numbers 11, 12, and 13. Thanks for the support from both of you, I do appreciate it. Plus, I forgot to mention, that while I was Injured I made a true dedication to the sport by forking out the cash on my rig(Javelin, Triathalon, Pilot, Cypress.) and all the extras(2 jumpsuits, Pro Dyter, Z1 pro, frap hat, weight vest, sleeves, everything I'll ever need.) while still in my sling.(Extra thanks to Chuck Shultz for giving me such a great deal on all of my equipment.) In other words I am truly thrilled to be a part of this new world.
  7. Hi every one my name is matt cashatt and i just started skydiving on july the 1 and I am certain i will continue to jump the rest of my life, or as long as i'm physically able. I completed my level 10 of the IAF program at Carolina Sky Sports in louisburg NC, on the 3rd of September. Unfortunatly during the freefall portion of my level 10 I dislocated my shoulder flatining out of a backloop. It was the strangest thing, I never even felt it untill I realized that my right arm wasn't functioning. When i attempted to do a PHT I realized that my arm was just dangling in the air. I began to struggle trying anything to push my arm to the mains handle.(avoiding the extra pain of a term. vel. reserve opening.) eventually at around 3800 ft i found the handle while on my back turned on my belly and opened. Then in order to stir the canopy i had to lift my right arm to the brake. I succesfully made it to the landing area and somehow managed to flare about 2/3 of the way and did a PLF. Any ways I plan to be back at CSS on Nov. 7 to start my relative work 101. I am am very excited (even with my misfortunes) to enter a whole new world known as skydiving.
