  1. I thought you were going to be the poster of this video. http://www.skydivingmovies.com/ver2/pafiledb.php?action=file&id=1979 Is this a low turn or a misjudgement in the swoop or both? As a student my approaches are.. well.. student-like.. I however do not want to find myself in a place like this so my reason for posting this vid clip is not to derail your thread but to learn by what I don't quite understand went wrong.
  2. hmmmmm, a little to intense sometimes. and I have "no game" like this Romeo does. http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=1486913;search_string=%20Love%20song%20for%20skybabes;#1486913
  3. How is Erin doing? I was wondering why I hadn't seen her posting about it. I found this so I guess she is ok? Skydiving fund-raiser scrapped after injury Woman hit power line and fell to ground after parachute blown off course By NICHOLAS AZZARA, Staff Writer February 16, 2005 A skydiving fund-raiser never got off the ground Feb. 10 after an Indiana woman was injured when her parachute was blown off course. Erin Walters, 29, of Pendleton, Ind., failed to hit her mark just south of the Radisson Suite Beach Resort on Marco Island. A gust of wind blew the experienced jumper east into a Marco neighborhood, where her foot hit a power line and she fell to the ground. She landed at the intersection of Amber Drive and Valley Avenue. Walters was treated and released from the Naples Community Hospital emergency room. A hospital spokeswoman declined to report on her condition. Emergency personnel responded to the accident at 12:35 p.m. Police Chief Roger Reinke said Walters did not suffer injuries from the power line, but he was unaware of her condition after the fall. Walters was among a small group of sky divers testing conditions in the morning. Inexperienced members of the public who paid $179 were scheduled to make tandem jumps with instructors later in the day. http://www.naplesnews.com/npdn/ma_eagle/article/0,2071,NPDN_14916_3550498,00.html
  4. I came out pretty well this year all things considered.
  5. I'm thinking that it's not uncommon for many people to react with anger when they are confronted by fear. The video clearly scared them and they react with bravado to make the fear go away. ok, no more deep thoughts tonight.
  6. ...and she's a blondie, she's now on my "to watch for hotties list" which is laying around here somewhere or I may have washed it in a pair of jeans, damn!
  7. Clear and cold here in Fort Lauderdale, 48 degrees now with the sun coming up. It looks like I won't need ice for the beer.
  8. I did 3 tandems which were no problem. The IAF4, my arch was horrible. Canopy control was easy and my landings were nice and on target. I redid that jump and still my arch was very poor. I ended up with line twists on that jump. I kicked out of those and landed fine once again. Needless to say due to my poor arch, bad body posistion I wasn't feeling so confident any longer. I had to hook up with my girlfriend and we worked on it all weekend long. My next attempt went perfectly and I would call that jump a thing of beauty. I would say I'm progressing through IAF confidently once again. I just wish I had more free time to jump.
  9. I was one the same load with Randy on Thursday. I had a great jump, it felt great to be back in the air. I had a little break over the Holidays & December was a windy month, at least the times I was able to make it to SkyDiveMiami. Welcome to the forums, you should talk to Chris and see about having video of one of your jumps done or did you do that already when you had your pics taken? I am always trying to find the time to get away from work to jump. I got this picture a couple weeks ago, Chris is always pretty funny.
  10. I'm looking forward to meeting all of you. Ft Lauderdale is about 2 hours away, I'll see you all then.
  11. crap!! I looked for it 1st also, do I owe beer now?
  12. Man drinks 60 bottles of beer, pees way out of avalanche... A Slovak man trapped in his car under an avalanche freed himself by drinking 60 bottles of beer and urinating on the snow to melt it. Rescue teams found Richard Kral drunk and staggering along a mountain path four days after his Audi car was buried in the Slovak Tatra mountains. He told them that after the avalanche, he had opened his car window and tried to dig his way out. But as he dug with his hands, he realised the snow would fill his car before he managed to break through. He had 60 half-litre bottles of beer in his car as he was going on holiday, and after cracking one open to think about the problem he realised he could urinate on the snow to melt it, local media reported. He said: "I was scooping the snow from above me and packing it down below the window, and then I peed on it to melt it. It was hard and now my kidneys and liver hurt. But I'm glad the beer I took on holiday turned out to be useful and I managed to get out of there." Parts of Europe have this week been hit by the heaviest snowfalls since 1941, with some places registering more than ten feet of snow in 24 hours.
  13. I just wish I had more free time to pursue my personal life outside of my professional life. I just did a recurrency jump. It went great and felt great. I've never quite had that "fear of the door". I just wish I found myself in that place more often. It felt so sweet throwing that pilot chute, seeing a perfect yellow canopy, and then making it back from a longer than expected spot.
  14. This really had to hurt. http://www.StupidVideos.com/?VideoID=702
  15. Personally, I don't like that idea. I enjoy watching BASE videos. There are far to few to view as it is now. I'd have to BASE jump just to have access? I'm unprepared. I need more skill. ...or are you saying you have some awesome footage that shouldn't be posted publicly?
  16. I know, and doesn't that suck!
  17. Message to Heaven; Here''''''''''''''''''''''''s Johnny!
  18. I thought you were talking about the head down reserve deployment video that was just posted. Wow, that had to hurt. http://www.skydivingmovies.com/ver2/pafiledb.php?action=file&id=1943 There was a huge thread posted about the video you have mentioned in gear & rigging. http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=1439200
  19. I always look forward to having drunken sex all night long on Fridays and then all day Saturday. In fact if you could read what my text messages have been about so far, you'd better understand.
  20. This is getting good, all the sexy ladies are concerned about pictures being posted... I guess I'll just have to show up for this event in person and see it all with my own eyes.
