your poll kind of threw me off.. the wording i mean. i chose "female boyfriend"... but it sounds funny we've been together a few years... he has never made a jump, i started 6 months ago. i found out last weekend he has no desire to. (i thought actually bringing him there would make him want to try it at least... umm negative) there's no doubt-single would be much easier, unless you date someone willing to dedicate this much time/money to the same cause.... or at least likes watching your videos over and over maybe i'll get better with time management once the new sport wows wear off (do they??) i didn't lose my mind, i sold it on ebay. .:need a container to fit 5'4", 110 lb. cypres ready & able to fit a 170 main (or slightly smaller):.[/ce

Jump #29 Eloy, AZ..8-10miles north of DZ...landed safe but in the desert. yikes! what did you do? how did they find you?!? i didn't even know which way to start walkin (once i got past the fence i mean-- that was the big obsticle!) i didn't lose my mind, i sold it on ebay. .:need a container to fit 5'4", 110 lb. cypres ready & able to fit a 170 main (or slightly smaller):.[/ce

haha!!!! i can relate! that happened to me last weekend. opened at the wrong end of the runway an was not penetrating the wind at all, just sinking slowly. so i turned around downwind and found a nice large green area (this was at 2000+) and had a nice stand up landing...that a bunch of cattle saw (they were on the other side of the fence thankfully... but i'm SURE they heard it!).... then quickly found out this piece of land was surrounded by barbed wire. my friends came and got me (but they were looking for a while-- eeek!). when i got back to the dz, my boyfriend, who i hadn't seen in a while (long distance thing) had finally arrived while i was in the air. i got a "why'd ya land over there?" from him

would it be possible to add a "pm" option next to "quote" and "reply" in the public forum threads? i get busy and just hit "reply" --- intending to send via pm. thank ya!

I need some encouraging words...Please
heidihagen replied to Punky_Monkey's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
hey punkymonkey i had the door fear too--- ever since my first tandem. the good news? i got over it this weekend! i had a new coach, angelee, who suggested i sit by the door, which i did. rather than shiver turnaway when it slid up, it got me used to the openess.. if that makes sense. also, i was able to locate the dz before climbout, which was reassuring. i've read a few of your posts, it's like reading something i would have written myself if i would take the time. ask your instructor if you can sit by the door maybe? also, i also had an instructor earlier in my training -- we didn't click which made me feel uncomfortable. i was visiting another dz, so a bunch of things caused me to blow that jump. but i had a bad jump right before that one, so i wasn't about to try it again with this guy (i decided on the way to altitude... conveinent huh?) please feel free to pm me, or even call. i know that sounds odd, but everytime i read a post and thing "OH ME TOO!" you happen to be the poster! hehehe i had fall rate issues too. i BLEW 11 of my jumps completely because i needed to "arch more" -- right? the fouth dz i visited, they put me through in 5 jumps, letting me go right off the bat. he said hanging onto me makes me lose my balance, and now that i look back, that's exactly what my problem was! too bad it took that many jumps/travel/tunnel time... i could have a REALLY nice rig by now if i would have just gone to dz4 (aka, my home dz!!!) this clips sums it up--- http://www.sideshowmath.com/hnh/affwrap-low.wmv the first jumps i was just trailing. a few i just will not let go. i mean-- they are baddddddddd! my avg fallrate attached to an instructor was 78 avg., now 105 avg. solo. going over the hill, it clocks high 80s-90's. they finally put weights on me, 6 pounds -- does wonders! i think a lot of smaller jumpers get frustrated and give up.. rosa (vanillaskygirl) almost did, but she switched dropzones. anyway, i write because you have posted about similar experiences, so if you ever want to talk, i'm always around! (but if its a busy day, i might take a day to get back--anyhooooo just sayin hi!!!!) i didn't lose my mind, i sold it on ebay. .:need a container to fit 5'4", 110 lb. cypres ready & able to fit a 170 main (or slightly smaller):.[/ce -
oh! you mean this guy? sorry, i call bs. grammar mistakes are usually overlooked on here.. but i would expect more from someone who passed the cali bar exam. there's a big difference between book smart and everyday smarts. i assume lutz knows he's on here. not only did he mess up big, he sent in his on tape with an interview. maybe i'm wrong... it wouldn't be the first time. funny idea tho! i didn't lose my mind, i sold it on ebay. .:need a container to fit 5'4", 110 lb. cypres ready & able to fit a 170 main (or slightly smaller):.[/ce

wait until you start selling your clothes on there. the stuff people buy will blow your mind!!! i highly don't recommend looking @ old bank statements.. i ran up my total while filling out my taxes and it was not pretty ebay buyers are funny.. they all want to win, you're taking away the fun by setting the price high.. let them run it up! try starting your auctions low and setting a reserve price. i found people are more likely to start bidding that way.

it was me! and it's your fault i didn't lose my mind, i sold it on ebay. .:need a container to fit 5'4", 110 lb. cypres ready & able to fit a 170 main (or slightly smaller):.[/ce

they put them in dogs and were trying to put them in kids to keep them from going missing. i doubt they would bother if the range was only 2,000 ft. handheld devices are mostly used with cargo, there's antennas all over the place monitoring things (money, drugs, some handbags have them) anyway, i'd pay $30 for it just as added insurance. finding a cutaway fast is an added bonus. i'm sure someone will invent it.(and then everyone can blame rfid when they can't find their main! haha) if you are that unlucky, tags can be read through a variety of substances such as snow, fog, ice, etc. http://www.snagg.com/ < somewhat related.

dal is a lot different than the fort in my opinion. my boyfriend moved there nearly a year ago and i'm still learning to like it. dal night life is a lot better. it's more fun off university in fw. they're just different. i don't know what it is... i think because it takes so freaking long to get anywhere. d&fw are so close i get excited when i finally hit corsicana on the way home (corsicana has a gas station... or 2). i hope ya like driving... a lot of driving. houston has that problem too. to be fair, i haven't given downtown dw much of a chance... and they have a cute dog park called "fort woof" hehe

yeah, it's everywhere and sometimes hard to spot. if a dropzone just put it on their student gear, alti's, and helmets would all work on the same freq, right? but if fun jumpers started adding it to their gear, would frequency interference ever be an issue? i don't know enough about the readers. i found a dog and the vet was able to find his owner that way (she had a chip in her teeth)... cool stuff! "RFID tags come in a wide variety of shapes and sizes. Some tags are easy to spot, such as the hard plastic anti-theft tags attached to merchandise in stores. Animal tracking tags which are implanted beneath the skin of family pets or endangered species are no bigger than a small section of pencil lead. Even smaller tags have been developed to be embedded within the fibers of a national currency." - pulled from http://www.epic.org/privacy/rfid/ i didn't lose my mind, i sold it on ebay. .:need a container to fit 5'4", 110 lb. cypres ready & able to fit a 170 main (or slightly smaller):.[/ce

what would it be used for? when i was brand new here(and under a diff name), i thought it would be cool to implant them in gear because they're sooo tiny, light, cheap, and trackable. i think the biggest drawback is their short life span (about a month).. i really don't know enough about it, but it really depends where you want to put it to make it worth it. the range depends on the type of chip... more under this thread: http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=1365451 i didn't lose my mind, i sold it on ebay. .:need a container to fit 5'4", 110 lb. cypres ready & able to fit a 170 main (or slightly smaller):.[/ce
