I couldn't watch the video because I use mozilla and it requires you to use IE; however, the story sounds disgusting. I can't imagine people actually living in a house under those conditions.

The only time my younger son (4 1/2) came up to the dz to watch me jump, he cried because he could not go on the plane with me!! Great pic.

I have never done drugs. However, I do drink (too much most times when I do drink) and I used to smoke (I have been cigarette free for 5 months on the 14th!). I joined the marine corps at 17 and they somewhat frown upon the drug thing so I just never did them . When I got out of the marine corps, I had my first son so never did them then either. I guess circumstance can always keep you in the good graces of the law!

We had mice this past winter. Each morning my 4 and 8 year old would get up and run downstairs like it was Christmas morning just to see if we caught a mouse! (They actually thought it was neat!) The regular traps worked for me and I did use the glue trap once and caught one.... that was the last time I did that! -
Wow, those are some great pics. Looks like y'all had a wonderful time. I have never been to the west coast, but these pictures sure make me want to make a vacation out of it!! Thanks for sharing!

Thanks. I guess I missed the dz locator whenever I was looking at dropzones.. I must be blind! Anyways, beaumont appears to be still in business, at least they have voicemail. Thanks for the help!

I currently live in Lancaster, PA; however, I am going to be visiting home here shortly (in a few months). I would like to know if anyone knows the closest DZ to Lake Charles. I saw that there is one close to Lafayette, but that is still over 2 hours away. Was somewhat hoping there was one possibly closer, maybe even in Texas.

Okay, well I'm am new to this sport (I have 20 jumps) and I am really looking forward to getting out and meeting some new people and visiting some different dropzones. But when you have children, it makes it difficult. So anyways, I'll enjoy meeting all of you on here! So here I am.. a good picture of me and one taken on my webcam a few days ago after work that I would think is an average me.

Thanks for all the comments. I actually refused to go out on my 6th jump and rode the plane down. I just remember this oh so paranoid worse than usual feeling, so I didn't jump. I was so upset with myself that I went back the very next day and did 2 jumps. It is just reassuring to hear that it does pass and that perhaps a little more familiarization with the gear may help. I will do this and also review my emergency procedures before my next jump. I have to say that the door is not the place for me yet. I am terrified of spotting!! It actually makes me more nervous when they make me practice spotting. :-) I appreciate everyone's input!

I have completed my AFF and have a few solos completed. I still botch my exits; however, I think this is due to fear. I know it is not a normal thing to jump out of a perfectly good airplane, but I want to do this. I feel so awesome once I am out of the plane and it is just an awesome experience each and every time. I just purchased my own gear and all; however, I need some tips to get this fear thing out of my system. On the ride up to alti I get so nervous and often times doubt even getting out of the plane, but I make myself go out. Does everyone go through this and will it ever be a natural event to actually exit the plane? I just would like to have an awesome exit on my next jump if the weather is warmer in march!!
