  1. SIMPLE STUFF: Stay healthy and do lots of jumps. Influence others to higher safety precautions. Keep learning. Have fun. Pay attention to my family and freinds. Live life to its fullest. Goals... DEVELOP MY SKILLS. We have a few competitions lined up. (Danish nationals plus either Swedish or Norwegian nationals) That will be a great opportunity to see how much I have learned in regards to my 4-way skydiving skills - I hope our team does great.
  2. Yup saw it. The videophotograper John B. Petersen is a close friend of mine. He was filming them on his day off. Too bad they only got to do 2 jumps... ouch!

    BB guns

hehe used to own 4 guns. A custom M4A1 (for sniping), an PM5k (for city / indoor / speedball), a Fa-Mas SV (allround) and a desert eagle hand pistol (backup). Then I started jumping, stopped regular training with the team, got a stinking SANMD (medic) position and sold except but the Fa-Mas and the gear - gear is important, still got a crawing for items from Rangershop... These days they only let me out to play when we have a game set up with our old rival teams... Im too busy with skydiving. Attatched two pics. One of the team, and one of the arsenal on a typical weekend scenario. Team is called ESOT and we are a primarily MILSIM team. Funny post, bet ya didn't really expect to find any softgun enthusiasts.
  4. Thank you all for your responses. But easy now everybody. Im not going to fly a Katana, Velocity or anything else in that category!! I know Im not skilled enough for that, and Im in absolutely no hurry. I get advice from others as well, who tell me to learn things the right way and not "push it"! But I am asking for suggestions on canopys OTHER than the Safire I fly (a bit to sluggish in responses), the Sabre2 (I know this could be a good choice, so its obviously already being taken into consideration) and the Stiletto (I want a canopy with negative recovery arc). Any suggestions for canopys I should demo?!
  5. I hear ya, but the thing is I have been told I should get rid of the Safire and get a Katana (I tend to think this is a bit too aggressive for me just yet) or Samurai, by canopy coaches... So I figured I could identify what to fly by demoing and get coaching on the canopy I liked the best, and then buy it? HMmmm..
  6. Hi, Hoping for a bit of advice here! I have 340ish jumps. I currently fly a Safire109 loaded at 1,4 (135 lbs) I would have bought a Sabre2 120 if I had the money. In May I will be at DeLand on a training camp (tunnel mostly) but we will do 60 jumps and on my two days off, I plan to get some canopy-piloting coaching! Only coaching I have had previously was a three day seminar with Brian Germain. I am wondering if I should demo another canopy while Im there! The question is what to demo? I plan to upsize to a 120, when I go elliptical due to my lack of experience. I dislike the commonly loved Stiletto. The reason is I like practicing soft carving 90-180o turns, and usually end up too high on final approach. The Safire (dull and slow-responding as it may be) will still allow me to finish my turn by harness and will still give me an acceptable landing. Whereas the Stiletto will instantly pull out of the dive, the speed will bleed off and the landing surely stink. - Leading people to making their turns closer the the ground - lower than I like to! I would like a responsive yet not too aggressive canopy, with a negative recovery arc. Not too hard on the frontrisers. Must be capable of good landings on straight-in approaches as well. On heading openings and stable in turbulence would also give nice points in my book. So what options do I have? Im thinking beyond the Sabre2. I have thought about the Vengence and the Samurai, but airlocks sounds like a hassle with the winds we often have in Denmark! Please give me your advice, and bear in mind that Im not too experienced and will only have 400 jumps when I pick up the demo. And please dont lecture on safety either. Im not hopeless and I know my limits. In advance thank you!
  7. Looking for someone to share tunneltime with is not something that is easily communicated through the classified. Now, Im one of the posters on a thread on tunnel sharing. I could see the problem if I was selling time, but Im not. Im looking for someone who also have tunnel booked on specific days, and share sessions. Nothing classified selling or buying in that... And really, I have watched the threads go on and on about tunnel sharing. And I think its great, that people can make arrangements through the forum. If you as an individual have no interest in the post, then just dont open it...?! But then again, you made similar type of post (even on selling an service in the tunnel) disclaimer or not. I see no better forum for it than this, and the need for these posts is obvious there!
  8. I wonder if the tunnel has taken up insurance covering - and written a formal waiver specifically on the issue of - addiction. I really feel there should be more warnings. I hold this against my coaches from last year!! And the Orlando SkyVenture. I flew 4,5 hours and have been in agony since leaving the tunnel. Now I will need to go there every single year! (Sharing 12 hours with my 4way team in April/May)
  9. They did not bust, because they took great care. Now they will push the speed. Or at least I think they will. Im not saying averages are going to sky-high levels, but they are going to be noticeably higher. That plus there are several teams training hard(!), as far as I have understood.
  10. Almost! We would like to share time during May 1st. evening hours, 4th all day, and 7th evening hours. We have hours booked during those times, but want to equaly share yours hour as well as ours. We have our own coach with us. PM me for more detail, if the dates could work you.
  11. With the new rules (no busts) I think its safe to assume an avg higher than 22 for all 3 teams on the podium, yes. It is going to be an exiting year...

    Orlando Tunnel

Yes Ron but the guy who started the thread needs coaching, and so does srinard, - or at least that was how I read it Figured that much! And rehm: Go easy on Steve, I will need him to be in good condition when we arrive some weeks later!

    Orlando Tunnel

Mentioned it in another post. If you are having trouble with getting a coach, the DaneZ have a tunnelcamp during that period and may be able to do coaching. Otherwise the SkyVenture staff can surely help you! They will know who is available. rehmwa and Ron, I cant believe you would turn down coaching. There is 24 hours a day and sleep is really overestimated j/k Edit to ad the email of DaneZ, the danish national team. 14. hehe funny how a few, totally off topic comments can light an old thread. I ordered the vented bootie. I certainly don't want to slow fallrate, but expect the difference on vented / not vented to be relative. I kinda like the promise of "more power" when legs gets extended. Its not always an option to call the manufacturer. I live in Denmark. Calling would be expensive and complicated. Otherwise very good suggestion! I will get my suit in about one month, when friends camp have ended. I could let you know how it works for me - but I am sure you cant wait that long to order your new suit. _________________________________________________________ Your success and happiness, is in direct proportions to your commitment to excellence, regardless of your chosen field of endeavour.
  15. Some of us travel from far away to do tunnel camps. Its important for us to have a coach booked in advance, we can not just *hope* one of the instructors we favor is available, if we have not made arrangements beforehand. This might work for 1 hour, but when you are flying more, planning is needed. And even though I know very little. Only flown 4,5 hours. (Next camp is in April YAIH!) I must say, that I like having the coach fly with me. Maybe this is specific for FS - bellyflying, I cant tell. I learned very much during basic training, by "playing" (AFF drills / Wrestling etc.) This I could not have done without my coach. Also, the precise movements and stops, the eyecontact and the 3D not to mention, could not have been done with my coach standing outside! Having pointed out my opinion on these two things, I must say your post is good and will hopefully be of help to many.
  16. In Denmark its often below 30ºC during winter time in 4.000 meters. Does not hold us back from jumping. I don't mind, I put on an extra set of long skiing underwear under my suit, and a neck wind breaker. Sure the fingers get cold, but you wont feel it untill after deployment, never had problems with finger so cold that I had problems flying my canopy or flaring.
  17. Leg straps first, part of routine. Will consider changing the order having read the posts. _________________________________________________________ Your success and happiness, is in direct proportions to your commitment to excellence, regardless of your chosen field of endeavour.
  18. Why ruin a perfectly good cookie, by soaking it?! Wet cookies sounds kinda ... well, not much point in buying crisp cookies anyway. Not saying I wouldent eat it if I was hungry, but to willingly do that to cookies... I guess its just another culture thing!
  19. Yes he is. Trouble... not too hard to imagine But he is a great coach though, we use him a lot.
  20. Also, the DaneZ (Danish national team) have a camp in March. They are really good, used them last year. Email Jess at jess@danez.net or PM for info on them! _________________________________________________________ Your success and happiness, is in direct proportions to your commitment to excellence, regardless of your chosen field of endeavour.
  21. I voted 3 years, but that is just because when I buy an open helmet for hop and pops/funjumps/instructor jumps after nationals this year (yes I plan ahead when it comes to investments) - then its going to be 3 years since I last time purchased a helmet, my fullface for FS. I don't expect my helmets to wear out over a 3 year periods by any means. I don't plan to take up landing on my head. And yes, a fullface for FS gives you two advantages. No wait, three! 1: Full face protection from your teammates knees 2: Calm / quiet no wind effects, good for concentration and 3: Cover if you one day find yourself going through frozen water particles in the sky (not implying you jump through clouds, but shit happens) Edit spelling
  22. The Inner Game is also made for skiing, and has more similarities with skydiving if you ask me. Principle however being the same. I agree Inner Game can do a lot for you!
  23. Wont this result in less clean skydives and end up creating new problems of its own? I liked the strict rules with penalties for violations. This invites very much to taking your chances on cheats - as getting caught is no longer a real problem. _________________________________________________________ Your success and happiness, is in direct proportions to your commitment to excellence, regardless of your chosen field of endeavour.
  24. Hi! Having come to accept the fact, that we can only book as many hours as we want totally as a team at SkyVenture, we are having some planning challanges. We want a total of 12 hours total on our team. During the days from may 3rd and 8th, we will be doing two hours of 4way - we will be trying to find a team to share theese sessions (ours and yours sessions) with, so that we can ensure no time wasted! PM if you are interested! Thank you.
  25. You clearly have not considered the added drag the grippers will produce. Bigger surface = slower fallrate unless you take action to compensate! Besides - big grippers is also preferred by the top elite teams. Do you think their main reason for this is that they don't know how to fly their body?! ...No, the bigger grippers is just easier when turning pieces and catching grips when things goes fast. If you are more quickly on, you can be faster off it and on your way to next point! _________________________________________________________ Your success and happiness, is in direct proportions to your commitment to excellence, regardless of your chosen field of endeavour.
