You must be kidding. Men shoot their women with such alarming regularity that it only gets reported locally unless they kill the whole family. A woman who shoots and kills an abusive husband is almost certainly going to go to jail for many years unless they can prove they were in imminent physical danger. This is one of the most fallacious pro-gun arguments I've ever heard. Congratulations. Edit to add, it was just pointed out to me below that you likely were not using this a pro-gun argument. Just to point out a flaw in a plan. Had me going there for a while. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.

You must be still a bit of an outsider in America. I seldom hear native Americans expressing this obvious truth. They are too afraid of censure from their peers. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.

You mean like the Vegas shooter? Blaming youth is incorrect, although you are correct that it almost exclusively involves men. Other countries have unemployed youth, but few mass shootings. I wonder what is wrong in America. What could the difference be? The underlying problem is the gun culture. It is so painfully obvious. Why are all y'all so unwilling to just admit that? Need advice on carrying a sign in freefall
gowlerk replied to Mark.Carroll's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Good question. But Google knows your history and preferences and uses them to choose what suggestions you get on YouTube! -
That makes a couple times this has come up in this thread. Let me make this as plain and simple as possible. RSL or no RSL makes ABSOLUTELY NO DIFFERENCE in this decision. RSL, even ones attached to MARDS, and AADS as well are strictly backup devices. Not to be relied on. This is an important principle not to be glossed over. YOU NEVER LOWER YOUR EXPECTED SURVIVAL ALTITUDE BECAUSE YOU HAVE AN RSL.

America absolutely does not have to do anything to reduce the number of firearms. You've been doing nothing about it for a long time now, and chances are you will continue to do nothing. A large number of you are emotionally attached to the freedom to have nearly unlimited access to weapons. And it's not really a priority issue for those who disagree. As I keep saying, America has largely decided to just accept the death toll. After all, it's only the killing of children that attracts much attention anymore. And the chances that it will be your child next is very small. The Vegas killing of 50 or so? It was not long ago and it's already barely mentioned anymore. Until the ruling class feels threatened America's embrace of the tools of war will continue unabated. Just hope you or your loved one does not become a victim. The death rate by firearms in America is roughly 5 times that in Canada. A country with fairly liberal gun laws overall. But the truth is that more than half of your gun deaths are suicides. And no one really counts them as victims. But as you count your arsenal, and your chest swells up with pride as you score a close group on the range, remember. Several people died today who would still be alive if gun restrictions were imposed. But I know.....Freedom. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. I'm not sure who Rosental was or is, but that quote is generally credited to Charles H Spurgeon. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.

Not when your focus is on guns and not other issues that cause much more deaths each year. Derek V Is this not a thread about firearms? Perhaps you need to start a "death prevention" thread. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.

So it isn't about saving lives, it is about guns. Derek V Are you not able to see that it's about both? Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.

Because firearms are tools designed to kill people. All those other objects are not. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.

It's not about assault weapons. It's about a hunting rifle. Try to keep up. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.

It would be bad for me. I guess you can try. I hope you don't shoot by by-standers. BTW, what makes you think my peers think that way of me? Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.

First legal challenge. Or at least the first I've heard of. https://www.cnn.com/2018/03/07/us/dicks-lawsuit-rifle-trnd/index.html Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.

Whatcha gonna do when the thug has the drop on you? Which any armed robber is going to have. I'll bet you carry that heater around just dreaming of the day you can be a hero. But the chances are pretty good you'll be a dead hero. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.

Pretty much describes 50s and 60s TV. We watched it anyway. In B&W, with rabbit ears, and adjusting the horizontal hold often. I never watch TV anymore. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.

Very nice. I thought you might have trouble passing the medical.
-
And a 10 shot clip would help you how? You would still only be able to get off a single shot. What you would likely do is drop your weapon, raise your hands, and hand over what ever the nice robbers wanted. Unless you are just plain stupid. Fairly spectacular flip there. How much jumping are you doing after that? I’m going to assume tandem is out forever.

Legal age in Manitoba is 18 for liquor. 18 to 20 year olds pour over the border on Saturday night to indulge. Just wait a few months till we have legal pot....... Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.

is there More then 1 reserve chute?
gowlerk replied to YOUCEF's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
That is not supposed to be possible. Unless misrigging occurs. Plus it is nearly as complicated, and likely with just one reserve. The only real difference is that option C is available. -
The post made me Google it and read the Wikipedia article. By the way, it's Krytron, not Kryton. Apparently a common error. I want one of those too. I love America. https://www.ebay.com/p/High-Power-Krytron-Laser-Trigger-Pulse-Nuclear-Switching-Tube-KN6B-EG-G-Optics/1726693591 Uh.......CURRENTLY SOLD OUT Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Two canopy out.. to release or not release?
gowlerk replied to CloudyHead's topic in Safety and Training
I've seen others teach to not even release the brakes and to only do gentle riser turns. Making only riser flares possible. What do you teach about releasing the brakes in what order or which canopy? -
