A lot of views and discussions on this forum are very conservative. The are very good views on how to get into base and what to do as well as not to do. We all can learn from them. I did about one year of research and learning before I did my first jump. Now I will be the Devils Advocat. I think there plenty of jumpers out there who learn to BASE in an environment with no FJC and help from a high number jumper. As I heard before Mentors are hard to find. And if you find one you are lucky if they live with in a reasonable distance. I hardly talk about my first few jumps just because I know it would bring on the coals. I think JappSutter is very correct when he says "Intelligence and humility are the only requirements to be a safe BASE jumper. The rest is just bonus." Dont get complacent, be humble and never think you know everything, it will help you live longer. Jesus makes a 245ft cliff jump without parachute possible

"“It wasn’t just some yahoo stunt,” Pierre said. “I chose to do it so it would open up doors so I could witness my faith in Christianity.”" Yeah, so if he would have died I guess the doors would have been shut and his faith in christianity would not have been good enough. Thats BS leave the big JC out of it, it was the beilief in himself, his landing area, and his experience, which kept him alive. Next time the causes and conditions might favor another turn out. In the end YOU make the decision to jump. But enough of that. That was crazy and good thing he made it out. Oh and koodos on the record. From your experience what contributes the most to an off-heading opening: Poor pack job, Bad Body Positon, Wind Currents (any other ideas) ? How often do they occur ? I also asume the bigger canopy you have, gives you the most time to recover from one. So which one benifits skydiving the best? Any help is appreciated? Hey Yall, I am currently a newbie to skydiving. I got my A license a couple of weeks ago. I currently have 31 jumps. I recieved my training through the old static line methods out of a 182. The max passenger load I have seen is a big 4 . So this weekend I am thinking of going to Eloy renting some equipment and having fun. Are there any suggestions and tips when jumping at a Big DZ and Big Planes. Any info would help.
