  1. Hey everybody, I only have 45 skydives and I just ordered my Tonsuit X suit to learn how to WS. I am so excited!! Since there is so much video on youtube I figured I could get enough instruction from there. I cant wait. Ill let you know how it goes. My friend has a hot air ballon so I dont have to go to a Drop Zone either. How much altitude do you think I need. I am guessing like 2000 maybe 3000 ft? 2. James, Glad to hear you are ok. Heal Fast amigo. "When once you have tasted flight, you will forever walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward, for there you have been, and there you will always long to return." Leonardo da Vinci
  3. Well Voodew if the DVDs take as long as it takes to get a V3 you all might be waiting 7 months +. Yes not called for but I dont care. "When once you have tasted flight, you will forever walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward, for there you have been, and there you will always long to return." Leonardo da Vinci
  4. El Phantom es el gran caca. Compre el phantom. Mas mejor que todo los trajes de alas. Dude not only is it a awesome suit in flying capability. The quality is bommer. I have had mine in the mud sand and rock in the base environment and it has yet to tear. When your spending a grand you want something that will last at least till the phantom 3 comes out. 5. I dont think the suits we are seeing came from phoenix fly. As far as I know the real V3 have straight leg wings. I dont think they would produce a suit with a 90 degree leg wing bend. That is not really aerodynamic. It hurts too see such poor flying. Just put on an RW suit. On a positive note at least the flock is all phoenix fly. 6. Now that I am reading all this the straight stich does sound right. I believe it was regarded to pilot rigs. Although for some reason though my mind still thinks there is something else related to the straight stcich on a closing loop. Zig Zag is correct for fingertraps and line assembly example old school nylon thread where you had lines atached with a clove hitch and a half hitch. The Zig Zag allows for stretching. Thanx for the feed back. "When once you have tasted flight, you will forever walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward, for there you have been, and there you will always long to return." Leonardo da Vinci
  7. I plan on making some closing loops with Spectra 1000. I know a tack is not needed, but I do remember something about tacking with a straight stich as opposed to a bar-tack or zig-zag? I cant remember why and I cant find it in any of my manuals. Any info? Thanx "When once you have tasted flight, you will forever walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward, for there you have been, and there you will always long to return." Leonardo da Vinci
  8. Thanx for the info everyone. Honestly on the glide ratio stuff. Can you really compute it? Here I will tell you how, jump off a cliff a big one. Provide skilled pilots. Very calm winds. The mofo who goes the furthest has the best glide ratio. F*** the numbers. Not hang time straight up distance. You think about the numbers too much and you forget to fly. Ohh and pull low. That can help a little :) Thanx again. I am still not sold. "When once you have tasted flight, you will forever walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward, for there you have been, and there you will always long to return." Leonardo da Vinci
  9. Just curious. Why do you like your M1 or SM1? I have seen so many people buying these suits. They look really cool. I want to know why you like yours? I might have to order one, if what I hear makes sense. Thanx "When once you have tasted flight, you will forever walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward, for there you have been, and there you will always long to return." Leonardo da Vinci
  10. I know you voodew, I also know your wife. She would agree when I say you would not even make it to the bed. You would fall asleep right after you put the suit on. On the other note I cant wait to fly mine. One thing I have noticed is all the stills we have seen all contain video. Wheres the video? "When once you have tasted flight, you will forever walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward, for there you have been, and there you will always long to return." Leonardo da Vinci
  11. James, Just curious. Does the facotry close in Dec? "When once you have tasted flight, you will forever walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward, for there you have been, and there you will always long to return." Leonardo da Vinci
  12. I have been around amigo, One of my scariest close call jumps actually was off a bridge. I didnt mean to offend, I just meant they are good to train on. I am sure there are some technical bridges out there. In fact Bridges need more respect then they are actually given, hence all the injuries that are occuring off bridges. And Tom I would like those directions. Sounds fun. 13. I agree with ya Jeb. What I see happening now is BASE is so easy to attain through a first base course or a Base jumper who is helping their friend get a jump, it is getting less respect. There is nothing worng with mentors or first jump courses. They are a very safe way to get into the sport. They are also great for the individual whou just wants one jump. But you have individuals who expect to be spoon fed all the information. They do no research and have no fear or respect for the activity. In my opinion dont consider yourself a BASE jumper if everything has been spoon fed to you, you get your BASE jump and then expect to follow people to exit points. I feel true BASE accomplishment is when you have taken what you have learned from your experiences, others advice, and apply it to exploring and opening new objects. Going out in the backcountry or a new Antenna, or new Building ( as for bridges they are just training tools my opinion only) and telling yourself I am going to jump off that bitch. Doing your homework getting that jump in and walking away. That feeling to me is most rewarding in BASE. You dont even have to open it up what matters it is new object to you and you applied what you had to get off it. I could see how someone might not desire what I desire and that is fine. We all become base jumpers for our own reasons. Plus where I live exploration is endless others might not have that. The value of a new jump in one weekend holds more value then a bunch roll overs off a bridge. So thats my two pesos Diego "When once you have tasted flight, you will forever walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward, for there you have been, and there you will always long to return." 18. Yeah I am going to scrounge up some money and try to attend the boggie. I will be there with my traje de alas (wingsuit). Looks like we will have some good flockage occuring. Also we might be doing some speciel loads into MB canyon (not positive). It would be out of a 182 but it would be well worth it for the visuals. There is a video of a WS jump ove MB canyon on skydivemovie.com. Will see you all here (if I can make it) Diablo "When once you have tasted flight, you will forever walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward, for there you have been, and there you will always long to return." 19. Thanxs All I had a great time flying with everyone. Learned a lot. At the boggie I was able to aquire the minimum jumps to start flying a wingsuit So I feel better now. Tony will see you here at the MOAB boggie for sure we will fly. Thanks again Diego "When once you have tasted flight, you will forever walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward, for there you have been, and there you will always long to return." 22. Hmmmm maybe I'll make an attempt to make it over there, I think by then I should have done enough smuggling to buy a ticket to A town or H town. All this flying and no wingsuiting is taking "All the fun out of the JOB" Hey Ted. "I'll have a COKE" D "When once you have tasted flight, you will forever walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward, for there you have been, and there you will always long to return." 23. The plane is a beast its a straight tail 182 with a O-550 Stol kit and wingtip extensions we were at 19000 and still getting 200 fpm. I was felling pretty good, note the big smile in the video. Overall it took about 30 min. Light load helped. "When once you have tasted flight, you will forever walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward, for there you have been, and there you will always long to return." Leonardo da Vinci
  24. An amazing flight. Views are unreal. This is only a birds evey view. Only so much can be captured on video. I left at 14000 agl and was in the saddle about 1500ft above the top of the canyon. Down to the bottom was about 2500 or so. Hope you all enjoy. Thanx clint and shelle, and my two instructors back in texas. Two out Ted and Voodew. thanx for opening my door to wingsuiting.
