Sorry, not trying to whine I've come to accept the bouncing.. But I have been told by many that I should downsize a little and it should help with that aspect of the jump, .. I just wanted to hear what people think of this aspect of being "underloaded" ... Honestly if it wasnt for that (and that a 190 will fit my rig much easier) I probably wouldnt even consider downsizing, I feel that I can downsize and be safe, but really have no desire to fly in at mach 2. I just feel that I may actually be safer on a 190 due to things such as turbulence (which is what I feel was a major factor when I broke some teeth on one landing at Perris). As far as the end cells, yea it's annoying but it doesnt bother me *that* much, and I might just find a way to fix that as I work on my perfect pack job FGF #??? I miss the sky... Actually, that would mean that I dont get to jump really EVER out here.. Clouds burn off and turbulance starts, ... I could pretty much just jump winters if I let that stop me... This cannot be stressed enough. I'm sick and tired of the BULLSHIT info being given to people out there (normally light, small woman) that they're in danger cause they're 'underloading' their canopy. Lisa summed it up - if you have to downsize to jump in winds you want to jump in, maybe you should reconsider the jump anyway. Seek new coaches if someone tries to feed you this line of crap. Blues, Ian However, I do believe that I actually am "underloading" my canopy, and am considering that I will probably downsize to a 190 just to get my wingloading to atleast 1:1, ... I believe that it is because I underload that many times it takes effort from me to get my end cells to inflate, it also does not help with the effect that turbulent air has on my flight (which we have alot of out here it seems), somtimes I get tossed around quite a bit more than I'd like.. I feel that turbulent conditions could add to the danger of a lighter wingloading and a smaller canopy should help me with that. However I would love to hear some other thoughts on this... FGF #??? My protrack also gives alerts after I have pulled if I'm going fast enough... , I've been under canopy just flying and the thing goes off, but then again sometimes it does not.. Have yet to figure out what it's thinking.. THen you also have the neptune which has canopy alarms too.. FGF #??? I miss the sky... 0:6:2 I had a GREAT weekend, thanks to all of the people who I got to hang out with at Perris and Elsinore.. It was my frist time jumping at elsinore, and they really made me feel welcome there (much more than I can say about the DZ I call(ed) home when I went back there last weekend after my deployment!) I wasnt at elsinore for more than 10 minutes before multiple people came up and just introduced themselves to me, I had people to jump with, and just had one of the greatest days skydiving today.. I am also started packing my own gear (FINALLY) this weekend, and it was really hard for me to start doing that, I was lost and confused most of the time, but THe people at Elsinore and Perris were really helpful, and always willing to give me some tips and assistance when I needed it. THanks alot to all of you who made my day Oh yea, I finished my 'B' license stuff on Friday at Perris, gotta fax it in tonight FGF #??? I miss the sky... This is much like what i do... I have audibles, however ALL alerts are set for 500 feet BELOW when I should be taking action, 500ft BELOW breakoff, 500 feet below pull altitude... Only one not set low is hard deck, figure if I hear that something is wrong and I can use all the backup I can get to say "get shit fixed now" I like this, I have never been surprised by it, and i know that if my audible ever does surprise me I need to rethink my priorities in the air. I too, have gotten faster since AFF... I remember during AFF 3 (the second time) being told that i need to speed up as I was only falling a bit over 100mph (Which I felt was plunty fast enough at the time) ...
