I have found that the neptune usually counts part of the jump as jump run... I will look at my alti immediately before exit, and it will say 13k for example.. the neptune will give me a 12.7k exit altitude (or something like that) ... If you look at the charts from the neptune, you can clearly see that you left before the neptune started logging it as the jump.. Neptune is also very unaccurate with hop-n-pop delays, looking at a fall rate chart you can clearly see how long it was between exit and pull, but it keeps logging freefall for awhile after you pulled (slow openings) .. For logging, I just wish the neptune was a bit more sensitive to when we actually exit and pull (pull especially on hop-n-pops) .. I have a pro-track, but dont use it for logging anymore, but I do know that it always gives slightly different exit altitudes (usually higher) than the neptune. FGF #??? I miss the sky... Guess I need to contact the DZO and check on it ... They usually have a couple loads with no students (tandems) out there right, very easy to land farther out there too... Ok people... ... People in another thread and some friends I was talking to all got me thinking.. How many of you did yours naked? I'm seriously considering it just out of pure curiosity, .. that is ofcourse assuming that I *CAN* do it, as in a DZ around here (San Diego, Perris, or Elsinore) will *LET* me do this... Also would require someone to fly video for me, means that they have to deal with the uglyness of me in freefall ... So, let me know what you think... And any tips you may have on one of those three places and whether they will allow such an event Cant believe I am even considering this... My 100 will be on sunday. FGF #??? I miss the sky... My guner has the "seatbelt style" clip on it, and I need to get rid of it... I already almost lost my helmet on one jump, about 1500 feet into the freefall I felt the helmet lifting off my head, spent a few thousend feet trying to re-buckle it, wasnt able to, so then spent the rest of the jump holding a helmet on my head... It kinda ruined the dive plan Lost my cushin thing that was on the strap too.. Happy I didnt loose it, dont really have the money for a new helmet and audibles to throw around right now FGF #??? What a weekend!!! To everyone I got to jump with, thanks for a great time! Skybitch, I know you told me not to use the 'F' word, but I've just gotta write down all of my first so that I can see it myself... 1st time at skydance, 1st CASA, 1st helocopter, 1st PAC, 1st night jump, 1st hybrid, 1st time turning chuncks (RW) **THanks to all the experienced jumpers who let me play some RW with them on friday, I had an absolute blast with all of you!** , 1st time I heard all 3 alarms of my ditter (2500 deployment altitude, canopy showed open at 1600, low alarm set at 1800) , First time pulling as low as 2500 feet , first boogie, first tracking dive, flew a pilot for the first time and loved it - really want one, umm.. well, the toggle was on AFF 3, so who knows... Like an idiot I landed it, should have chopped.. But seeing how it was AFF 3, I really dont know, I just know that I could not pull the toggle loose. I just recently started packing my own equipment (after my first line over) and I messed up the pack job on my last jump for another line over, .. It cleared, all good FGF #??? I miss the sky... Guess some of us are just unlucky I've had one stuck toggle, one line over I was able to clear, and one line over that ended in a reserve ride.. already. I'm averaging one mal per 25 jumps FGF #??? Excuse my butting in to this, ... low jump numbers and all, but just wanted to say what my take on all this is, and mabey get some feedback on that.. If I am the (or one of the) jumpers who does not make it to an RW group, I always watch the group until their breakoff altitude and try to get as even with them as I can, when they break off I choose a direction to track which someone else has not (get the biggest gap possible) and go.. If I am in a group where a person or a couple of people dont link with us, I tend to give alot of attention to where those people are throughout the jump, and if I dont feel that others in the group have kept track of that person (which just happened this last weekend) I pointed to the lost person a little before breakoff, attempting to point that person out to the group, the group then all tracked around that person in an attempt to avoid this exact senerio, and then even as I track with someone lost I try to make sure i know where they went before opening... Just seems to me it's all about being aware of where the people in your group are at, at all times, regardless if the jump goes to plan... Now all you have to worry about is the group behind you not leaving you enough spacing FGF #??? I miss the sky...
