Jumping @ different DZ's while on solo status

Take your logbook. You should be able to jump. They should review aerial photos, LZ, etc with you. They may want you to jump with a coach. I was scared shitless for most of my first 70 or 80 jumps, but when I got to the door, I was fine. Still have some jitters an a jump that is new, bigger way, or after a layoff of more that a week or so. And still have a healthy respect for what can go wrong on each jump. "We saved your gear. I was the last of the siblings to see my Dad before he died. At the funeral home, I decided not to go up and see him in the casket, preferring to remember him as he was saying goodbye to me a few months before he died. I prefer the "big picture" in front of the closed casket to remember the deceased alive, smiling, happy, and active. Doc "We saved your gear. And jumper regained consciousness under canopy, was disoriented and confused, saw canopies flying and flew by instinct and landed hard with half flare. He continued to act concussed but had an otherwise normal neuro exam and went to a local ER for evaluation. He had a cypress, but I think the extra altitude he was opened at was instrumental in giving him the time to go on instinct and land safely. If he had opened under a cypress fire, he would have had a higher likelihood of landing injury IMO. Thanks, John - you are my hero too. Doc "We saved your gear.
