Read The Golden Ratio by Mario Livio if you're interested in phi. Mathematically it's a very interesting number that pops up all over the place, kind of like pi. But most of the "Divine Proportion" talk is just nonsense and the need for humans to find patterns where there is none.

That sounds plausible. Aliens, from many light years away, came to visit the earth in a.......................helicopter? Xenu's backup mode of transportation.

I can't remember which channel I heard it on, I was going back and forth between 3 of them every few minutes last night, but one of them said it's possible the people voted Stevens in knowing that he'd be going to prison. With him having to forcibly vacate his seat, a special election would be held in 90 days. This way instead of having a democrat have the seat, they can possibly put a republican in office.

Taking after GWB is she? Can a man be a diva? Sure, look at Ru Paul

Are you kidding me? Those are some of the best old sci-fi movies out there! Well, Space Balls is more comedy than sci-fi, but still awesome.

I posted this a few days ago, but not as a facebook app. Go a page or two back and you won't have to register

Exactly what I was thinking. There's obviously a skew towards Obama, but I didn't expect 99% of the countries to be in favor of Obama.

Ran across this and found it pretty interesting. http://www.iftheworldcouldvote.com

Didn't know he was on O'Reilly tonight, I'll have to TiVo the interview when it airs again tonight.

So far, this is the only new show I'm looking forward to this fall. Everything else is a steaming pile of crap.

Right now in Tecumseh, we're paying $24.00 to 13.5k

I'm not an instructor, so take what I say with a grain of salt and consult with people at your DZ. There was a similar situation at my home DZ a year or two ago. I took the student, who was 62 or 63 at the time I think, around 60 jumps to get his license. With dedicated instructors who are willing to actually instruct you and spend time with you, you should be OK. If it's a problem where you're wildy out of control each jump, then your instructors might be right. It's nothing personal, but some people just can't get the hang of things and no amount of instruction will help you to develop the skills. I, personally, would recommend doing at least a few more jumps and see how things go. If they don't go too well, maybe this isn't the sport for you. I wish you well and hope to hear of you back in the air soon.

I'll have to try your method out some time. Do you make your own dough, or do you buy a premade?

Anyone from NYC probably knows what I'm talking about, but Sal & Carmine's Pizza. They make one hell of a pie.

Cold cereal more than hot cereal. And I'll take an A/B cup over a D any day.

Time to send missionaries to Mars. -
Not really strange or disgusting, but I've had alligator, rabbit, ostrich, and emu meat, all were delicious. I've also had grasshoppers, was like an odd crunchy potato chip sort of. I can't bring myself to do any of the stomach/entrail/testicle dishes.

I jump a 135 Nitron and love it. It would be perfect for me if it stayed in a dive just a little bit longer, but for now it does everything that I need it to.

Wait until you get your first 20+ tandem day, or 40+ student rig day. On the upside, you'll never get a better nights sleep as you do after a day of hardcore packing.
